ROMSEY, MACEDON RANGES - FULL TIME MIXED PRACTICE New Position

FULL TIME MIXED PRACTICE VETERINARIAN REQUIRED

We are looking for an enthusiastic vet with at least 12 months mixed veterinary experience, to join our expanding 5-vet, soon to be 6 vet practice in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, under 1 hour from Melbourne’s CBD. The work is mainly small animal with just the right mix of equine and ruminant services to keep your skills sharp and give you a most diverse veterinary experience.

You will join a close-knit team of vets and nurses who love their jobs, in a relaxed semi-rural lifestyle. We offer the opportunity to have it all – working in a friendly town, living the rural lifestyle and still being able to take full advantage of everything Melbourne has to offer.  Due to both our proximity, and flexible roster arrangements, 3 of our current vets commute to work from Melbourne, however we are able to offer local accommodation as part of the package for the right candidate.

We have a varied and busy case load with most medical and surgical cases handled in-clinic with the opportunity to refer to specialists when required.  We have all the modern equipment you would expect and we utilise RxWorks.

The successful candidate must be a good communicator, a team-worker, and someone who prides themselves in providing top level veterinary care.  We are looking for someone who is willing to extend their clinical skill within a collaborative work environment.

Vets only have to work a four day week, with weekends and after hours being shared equally.  Your days off will be structured around the weekend roster, to facilitate the best possible work-life balance and our afterhours caseload is manageable. The roster is highly flexible to accommodate holidays, days off and CVE.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes, and you like what we’re about, please feel free to give us a call on 5429 5711, or email josh@romseyvet.com.au.  We’d be happy to discuss the position further and arrange to meet in person.  Thank you for considering this position.

Best regards

Dr. Josh Ellis and the Romsey Veterinary Surgery team.

BAIRNSDALE, EAST GIPPSLAND - FULL OR PART TIME MIXED New Graduates welcome

Yep, we are yet another mixed practice, looking for yet another mixed vet for yet another permanent or part time role to join our amazing, wonderful, beautiful team.

Who are we

Eastwood Vets – we are the new kid on the block down in Bairnsdale, Victoria. We are small, but we are mighty. We are growing rapidly and are looking for a vet, experienced or new grad, to join our team and help reduce everyone’s dreaded on-call hours.

We could tell you all the generic stuff about our clinic, and it’s all good stuff to know but its all the same (purpose built clinic, amazing qualified staff, modern equipment, compassionate quality vet care, yadda yadda yadda, you’ve heard it all before). What we’d rather do is tell you about what makes us different, better even, than all these other mixed practice job adds you’ve been browsing.

  1. Awesome café right next door – great coffee, good food, on tap.
  2. Slow cooker Fridays – Yep, that’s a sit down home cooked lunch every Friday. Ok, so sit down may not always be accurate, but the delicious slow cooked cuisine we enjoy every week makes it a little easier to take the Friday crazies.
  3. Family friendly – we all have, have had, or want to have young families and we want our families to be a priority. So, while we may not be able to offer “school hours” we are all about compromise so that the important stuff in your life gets the time it deserves
  4. Work life balance – we love hobbies, we encourage and support hobbies. We work to live, not the other way around and we hope that you are the same. We value doing a good job and we wont compromise on the quality of care that our patients and clients receive but we also value our own sanity and we will bend to make sure we all maintain our sanity and stella mental health.

Where are we

Eastwood, in Bairnsdale…… Google it….. The Travel Victoria website will tell you everything you need to know about this amazing region that you could learn to call home. There’s lots of stuff here….. all the things you need (hospitals, schools, shopping etc), plus there is lots of fun stuff too (snowfields, beaches, the iconic Gippsland Lakes, all within stone throw from the clinic).

Please click here to see photos! photos

Sensible stuff you probably do need to know:

Currently, we have a mixture of four vets working through the clinic, two full time. Position would involve 1 in 4 share in after hours. Pay and all other conditions are negotiable and above award, after hours contribution is not. Very comfortable accommodation is available for any interested applicant during after hours and initial commencement of employment while you fall in love with us.

Please email applications or call the clinic and speak to Meg.

Livestock logic logocox street vets logo

Large Animal Veterinarian Position

A rare opportunity is available in South West Victoria with Livestock Logic looking for a large animal veterinarian. The clinic services predominantly sheep and beef clients, and includes some equine and dairy work. Our practice incorporates Cox Street Vets, the small animal clinic, operating out of a separate building. We are a mixed practice, but this role is suited to someone who has done some years of mixed animal work and is now wanting to expand their skill set in sheep and beef medicine and consultancy.

Livestock Logic currently employs 4 full time vet equivalents dedicated to production animals. Our large animal veterinary work is a great blend of beef, sheep and some dairy and equine work with a strong emphasis on reproduction and disease investigations. The business includes a large consultancy and advisory role, working to educate producers. Livestock Logic has a unique role with its clients and this will allow you the opportunity to get involved in more on farm decision making. We are a trusted source of relevant production advice for our sheep and beef clients. The clinic has onsite parasitology (with a full time Parasitologist) and feed testing laboratories.  These labs also enhance our more typical clinical veterinary work. We have three curved linear ultrasounds for cattle pregnancy testing.

This position would be ideal for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with good communication skills.  The applicant would need to work as part of a dedicated, fun, supportive team.  The successful applicant will receive individual mentoring from our experienced veterinarians, and be well supported by all the team. Livestock Logic also carries out on farm research into relevant issues for livestock production and health. We expect the appointed veterinarian to have a role in identifying areas and opportunities for research and to be involved in undertaking this research.

GOULBURN VALLEY, SHEPPARTON - MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL - EXPERIENCED OR NEW GRAD New Graduates welcome

Small or Mixed Animal Vet Opportunity

GV Vets are looking for a full-time associate vet to join our team in Shepparton. If you're interested in joining a great group of people, in a family owned and operated clinic, please read on.

A few words to describe the values we consider important at GV Vets: Work-life balance, kindness, laughter, family, compassion, massages at work, exceptional service, professionalism, supportive, home baked treats in the tearoom.

We are proud to be Shepparton’s only locally owned and operated clinic, we are advertising for an additional vet for a couple of reasons, one being there's something in the water here and two of our legendary veterinary team have fallen pregnant.  The other being that we are renovating our cottage style clinic to grow and improve our hospital and consulting space.

Our renovation plans include a dedicated cat waiting area, a dental treatment room, a comfortable grieving/euthanasia space as well as an upstairs staff area with spaces for nursing mothers and maybe even a nap at lunchtime when required.  We tried to convince the boss to give us a rooftop bar, but we couldn't quite get it through on the final plans.

Please click here to see photos! photos

The ideal candidate has a primary focus on small animals and while mixed practice skills would be amazing (particularly cattle) they’re not necessary for you to apply.  Experienced vets and new graduates will both be considered for the role.  We’re looking for veterinary skills that come with a sense of humour and a great teamwork mindset. Our clinic is busy, but there’s plenty of support available with 9 vets (7 FTE) and 20 support staff, including 10 Cert IV Vet Nurses.  Our clinic has all the standard equipment expected of a modern general practice and many of the extra ‘toys’ to allow us to perform a comprehensive in-house work up with efficiency and offer best practice medicine: a combination of IDEXX & Abaxis in-house blood, coagulation, urinalysis & sedivue machines; imaging – portable ultrasound, digital touchscreen radiography, iM3 dental radiography; video otoscope & flexible endoscopes; TonoVet tonometer, electrocautery and separate surgery & dental / procedures rooms allowing dual anaesthetics each with dedicated patient warming and monitoring machines, large animal equipment including bull testing, pregnancy ultrasound, in-house milk culture and blood testing.

We aim for flexibility to find a roster that works for both you and the clinic, for example full time vets can work a four-day week with one regular weekday RDO or shorter shifts of five days a week.  We share the weekend and after-hours roster between everyone whilst also providing backup to support you for cases that fall outside of a particular vet's comfort zone. We strongly support continuing education and encourage vets to find and expand their areas of interest with further study, webinars, conferences and clinical practice.

Shepparton is a fantastic place to live, with all the shops, amenities and conveniences of a major regional centre with the luxury of space and country-feel farmland all around. We have a diverse, multicultural, proud and progressive community with fantastic schools and health services. There are many great sporting and cultural opportunities, superb restaurants and cafes, we are close to the river if you're into boating, camping or fishing, there’s great hiking trails and we are close to the ski fields if you like damaging your knees.  Going to Melbourne for a gig or footy match or festival is within 2 hours drive.

Comprehensive salary package on offer to the right candidate, including base salary, superannuation, continuing education, after-hours, registrations, memberships and bonus scheme.
