An emergency afterhours clinic is operating in Wodonga, covering our afterhours on weekends and public holidays allowing you more freedom on your weekends, yes that is correct no afterhours phone calls on weekends!!

Our group is comprised of two hospitals that are 100% small animal and we have been established in this area for over 30 years. This has allowed our team to develop long standing relationships with our clients and patients.

Visiting specialists who consult at our hospitals include an ophthalmologist and dermatologist plus we have visiting surgeons to do the more advanced surgeries, yes you are able gain experience from them as well.

We have excellent support staff that are an integral part of our team and will enable you to focus on your veterinary skills. We have a well bonded nursing and reception team who are all very experienced and are more than happy to assist in making the work day run a lot smoother, by assisting with case management, client contact and making sure you get your breaks, Oh yes that right - you can have a break!!. They also have a great sense of humour, so if you like a laugh while you work you will fit right in!! Staff meetings, outings and social life is a great way to keep us all on the same page and allows a happy work life.

The hospitals are interlinked with RX Works and are well equipped with Ultrasound, Digital Radiography, Endoscopy, Idexx- Lasercyte and Catalyst Analysers.

MILDURA, NORTH-WEST VIC/NSW BORDER - FULL TIME MIXED New Graduates welcome

A full time position is available for a veterinary surgeon to join our eight to nine vet mixed practice in Mildura. Experienced colleagues and enthusiastic new graduates are encouraged to apply. An interest in equine work is a benefit. Our new and large purpose built hospital offers all the equipment and facilities to practice excellent quality veterinary medicine and surgery with friendly and supportive nursing staff. Digital x-ray, ultrasound with colour doppler, pulse oximetry, in-house laboratory and cytology, infusion pumps, oxygen generators and orthopaedic instrumentation are components of our practice. The practice has a busy medical and surgical caseload, mainly small animal (85%) and equine (10%), but does include avian and wildlife work in addition to the expected other species of cattle, sheep and pigs. The building now includes six consulting rooms and three operating theatres.

The equine facility consists of a large shed with undercover stabling, two horse crushes, equine scales, and a knock down and recovery room. Seven holding paddocks are available for equine work brought to the clinic. Equine specific x-ray, dental work with power float, artificial insemination during the stud season, and routine tendon ultrasounds are components of the practice. This is in addition to the expected colics, geldings, lameness work ups, stitch ups and laboratory blood work.

The clinic has nine full time and four part time nursing and support staff. The Practice is an Academic Associate Practice with the University of Melbourne, and in addition has veterinary students seeing practice from international veterinary schools as well as the other Universities in Australia.

So, if a rural mixed practice with a wonderfully varied caseload, and strong support staff appeals, then we would welcome your application. There is a strong emphasis on discussion of cases between colleagues at rounds each day, and we are a practice used to supporting new graduates as they embark on their careers. Bi-monthly webinars, practice membership of CVE, and each veterinarian provided with VIN membership gives all colleagues opportunities to continue to enhance their skills and knowledge. We expect veterinarians to embrace new challenges as experience dictates.

Mildura, a vibrant inland city on the Murray River in north-west Victoria, is a terrific place to live, enjoying a pleasant climate, and with extensive sporting, recreational and educational facilities. It boasts a rich multicultural heritage, reflected in a large and diverse selection of restaurants, a strong arts community with writers and artists festivals, music festivals and both local and visiting live theatre. Mildura is the main city in a large irrigation district of the Murray-Darling Basin, with grapes and citrus as the main horticultural industries. Extensive dry land farming of wheat, sheep and cattle in outback NSW is on your doorstep. Mildura is well serviced by three airlines with a dozen flights each day to and from Melbourne. Flight time is just one hour.

BENALLA, NE VIC - FULL OR PART TIME MIXED New Graduates welcome

This mixed veterinary practice is located in a medium sized rural town in north east Victoria, approximately two hours from Melbourne.

The practice has been established and constantly growing over the past five years and is now looking to employ a veterinarian on either a full time or part time basis.

The successful applicant will have at least two years experience with a genuine mix of large animal work but new graduates interested in mixed practice are welcome to apply. The current caseload is approximately 42% small animal, 34% beef and dairy cattle, 22% horses, 2% sheep and alpaca, however the workload can be tailored to suit the individuals preference.

Our equine clientele are mostly pleasure horse owners as there are two major equine hospitals close by. The small animal clinic equipment and facilities have also been recently expanded due to growth in this part of the business.

The amount of on call work can be negotiated, but as a minimum one weekend each month will be required.

The local town has a good mix of sporting clubs and special interest groups and is close to lakes, rivers, bushwalking, snow fields, bike and horse riding trails and wine country.

Our mixed practice has a particular focus on dairy medicine and surgery. The caseload is approximately 60% large animal and 40% small animal. Of the 60%, 3/4 would be dairy cattle. The remainder is predominantly beef with the occasional equine client.

Applicants should be competent with or be willing to become competent with manual pregnancy diagnosis, calving, caesarians, LDA and RDA surgery.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake some small animal work in our well equipped practice.

We offer a 24 hour service with our consulting from 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12.00pm on Saturdays. EXPERIENCED AND NEW GRADUATES ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

This small mixed veterinary practice is located at the rural town of Warracknabeal in the Wimmera district of Victoria, approximately four hours from Melbourne. The practice is well established and has been operating since 1981.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, experienced mixed practitioner to join our team. New graduates will be considered. We would prefer a practitioner with expertise/interest in the equine field. We encourage Continuing Education and sharing this knowledge with the practice staff so we can continually improve our service to our clients.

As we are a small rural practice, the practitioner will be working solely at times and some after hours work is required. There are fantastic opportunities to see a range of mixed practice cases, including emergency cases. Practice caseload comprises 70% small animal; 20% equine; and 10% sheep, cattle and other species. The clinic covers an area of up to 150kms from Warracknabeal, with a half day a week satellite clinic in Nhill, Victoria.
