SEYMOUR, SOUTHERN GOULBURN VALLEY - PART TIME MIXED

ATTENTION VETS SEEKING OUTSTANDING PART TIME JOB AND LIFESTYLE OPPORTUNITY!!! STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS AD.

We are a 4 vet practice located in beautiful Central Victoria, surrounded by rivers, farmland, wineries and abundant outdoor activities.

Our practice is busy and the caseload is varied and will definitely keep you on your toes. We're predominantly small animals but to keep things interesting we mix it up with the odd sheep, goat or cattle call-out.

We have as much up to date equipment as you'll need, experienced and dedicated nurses, vets with a broad range of experience and interest, and even a drop-in-drop out ortho surgeon to fix up the really difficult ones.

We aim as high as possible in terms of standard of care- our strong belief is that country animals are entitled to the same level of treatment, care and follow-up as their city cousins. We're close enough to Melbourne that referral where needed is available and encouraged.

Our practice runs a total of four branches throughout the district- we try and get our vets to rotate around a bit because everyone enjoys a bit of a drive and change of scenery occasionally. But that's not essential by any means- if you'd prefer to stay in one place then we're happy to accommodate.

The position we're offering is flexible. Ideally, you're a vet with a few years experience in mixed practice, looking for permanent part-time work, about 3 days a week. One of our new branches is ripe and ready to take off so someone with a bit of drive and ambition to create momentum and really get things moving would be great. SOUTH ALBURY, NSW/VIC BORDER - FULL TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Townsend Veterinary Clinic is a new, purpose-built small animal practice based in the beautiful regional centre of Albury, on the border of New South Wales and Victoria.

The practice directors, Shelley and Kim, had a vision for a welcoming, friendly practice that is involved with the local community. We wanted pets and owners to feel comfortable at the clinic, and we wanted the clients to feel well-informed and involved with their pets' treatment. Our little dream has become a reality and we have been warmly embraced by the community, and have been able to practice gold-standard care with the full-support of our fantastic clients.

We are heavily involved with the local community and regularly host community events. Some of the events we have organised so far include dog yoga, twilight cinema, pet photography sessions, information evenings, as well as regular attendance at local markets. We perform significant amounts of rescue and charity work, and we are very proud of our achievements so far since opening our doors in December 2017.

The clinic is well-equipped and spacious, with brand-new advanced equipment including: digital radiography including dental radiography (standard for all dental procedures); ultrasound; advanced anaesthesia monitoring including blood pressure, ECG, and end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring; Tonopen for intraocular pressure measurement; in-house lab with biochemistry, PT/APTT, blood gases and electrolytes; separate sterile surgical theatre with suction, cautery and Bair huggers. IV fluids are standard with all procedures.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our nurses are fully qualified and very experienced, and their skills are well-utilised meaning that the vets can focus on the veterinary medicine and surgery and have time to research cases. We are a small, close-knit and social team. Dr. Shelley has memberships in emergency and critical care and is happy to teach and provide support with cases. We regularly (average once a month) have Dr. Adrian Wallace perform specialist surgeries at our clinic and we have a high orthopaedic case-load. Other specialists (such as ophthalmologists) visit the region, and we have the ability to easily refer to Charles Sturt University Referral Hospital in Wagga Wagga when required.

We are after a full-time veterinarian and we are flexible with the roster. Currently we have two full-time vets and one part-time vet. The full-timers each have one full weekday off every week, and work 1 in 4 Saturdays from 9am-1pm. We are fortunate to have a local emergency centre (River Country Animal Emergency Centre), and they are open on Thursday and Friday nights and then 24hrs right through until Monday morning, as well as being open on public holidays. This means that on-call duties are from Monday-Wednesday nights only and shared between the vets. On-call remuneration is generous.

We are looking for a vet with excellent communication and listening skills, who is thorough, detail-oriented and compassionate. We are seeking a vet with high-standards, who is also flexible and listens to the clients needs. We are interested in hiring a vet that is progressive and connected to the ever-changing world of veterinary science, and we will fully support professional interests.

What about the location? The border North East region is absolutely stunning. The clinic is walking distance to the beautiful Murray River and in summer we all enjoy a float down the river, or a game of beach-volleyball at the courts down the road. There are fantastic restaurants, cafes and wineries. We are close to the snow, as well as the beautiful towns of Beechworth, Rutherglen and Bright.

More information about us can be found on our website www.townsendvets.com.au or on Fac.

If you would like to apply for this position, please email a cover letter and CV to Dr. Shelley Wiltshire BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (ECC) at shelley@townsendvets.com.au or call (02) 6046 9846.
