We have a modern veterinary hospital offering a busy surgery schedule (including orthopaedic surgery), digital radiography (including dental radiography), ultrasound, equine and small animal dentistry, emergency care and large animal services. We have an exotic animal specialist who visits the hospital and 11 mixed practice veterinarians. Reception skills would be an advantage, but not essential, as we have 4 dedicated reception staff. We are currently recruiting for a skilled veterinary nurse for our busy companion animal practice located in Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains.

You will utilise your in-depth medical knowledge and your highly developed organisational skills to manage and direct the client/patient flow in the practice.

Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will serve as a focal point for communicating with and educating our pet owners regarding healthcare-related issues (by phone and in person). You will provide recommendations to pet owners regarding the optimal care of their pets.

You will oversee and maintain medical records, which incorporates your attention to detail.

Using your in-depth knowledge of veterinary medicine, you will assist our veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets, monitoring anaesthesia, performing lab work, performing oral health procedures and surgeries, and monitoring critically ill pets.

Through the use of ultrasound, radiology, multi-model anaesthetic monitors for every patient under anaesthesia, we are able to provide exceptional care for clients.

Guide Dogs is the leading Australian provider of guide dogs and orientation and mobility services for people with sight loss. We are a trusted, long-standing, and well recognised charity.

We are seeking a part-time Veterinary Nurse to join our team at the Guide Dogs Centre in Glossodia (past Windsor) to cover a period of parental leave. Our modern kennel complex has capacity for 90 dogs and is equipped with an onsite veterinary surgery. The successful candidate will assist the vet during radiographic and surgical procedures, carry out blood and urinary tests, maintain records and equipment, other general nursing tasks, kennel attendant duties and regular liaison with the Centre staff.

Applicants must be available to work 8:00am – 3:30pm across preferably 3 days a week between Tuesday to Thursday.

The surgery team works very closely with our other specialities to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.
