Ideally the successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and be competent in all aspects of routine soft tissue surgery. We have a brand new ultrasound machine dying to be used therefore an interest in ultrasonography would be beneficial (but certainly not required) and CE in this area could be financially supported along with any other special interest pursuits.

The Practice has been in existence for over 50 years and we have a very strong client base. We are looking for someone who has exceptional client communication skills and a caring attitude that can slot seamlessly into our routine.

This position would be suitable for a self-motivated veterinarian who possesses a positive attitude, strong people skills and excellent time-management.

Remuneration is commensurate with experience.

The role will be a permanent casual position with regular days every week. You will have the support of a Vet Nurse but will be the sole charge Vet. Clinic hours are 8am - 5.30pm. There may be some On Call work over weekends and public holidays which can be discussed at Interview.

Current WA Veterinary registration

Experienced in all aspects of Cat & Dog healthcare but MUST be proficient with Desexing female & male Cats & Dogs. Juvenile Cat spey experience preferred.

Ability to work well under pressure, liaise with Section Managers & Shift Supervisors, address Foster Carers concerns whilst maintaining scheduled appointments.

Part time equine veterinarian

Dental Vet is an equine veterinary dentistry hospital in Forrestdale, just 30km south of Perth CBD. Our purpose-built clinic was completed in 2017 with state of the art equipment and facilities allowing for the highest level of care for our patients. We also provide a mobile service with a portable crush and portable digital radiology (as well as a second digital x-ray unit at the clinic). We also have extensive dental equipment including multiple HDE units with multiple flexidisk and polyfloat attachments, an IM3 unit with equine extensions, oral endoscope, extraction equipment, equipment for advanced periodontal disease treatments, ultrasound, as well as all necessary mixing machines etc. for restorations and endodontic procedures.

We are one of the very few clinics in Australia offering equine endodontics and restorations and see referral as well as routine cases. Dental experience is not required, there will be considerable training provided but an interest in dentistry is needed and some equine veterinary experience would be beneficial. While our primary focus is dentistry, we do perform other equine veterinary work and we are happy to support the successful applicant to pursue other areas of interest, with commission bonuses to support this.

Our clinic does not do any after-hours or on-call work and this part-time position would be for three days per week plus one in four Saturday mornings.

We have a wonderful team with experienced, qualified veterinary nurses and the successful applicant will have their own dedicated veterinary nurse to assist with procedures as well as record keeping and driving, allowing the veterinarian to concentrate on their clinical skills.

We are very supportive of continuing education and research, having published numerous papers in leading veterinary journals. We would also be happy to assist the successful candidate to pursue membership qualifications in equine dentistry. We are also very supportive of charity work, being very involved in the Gili Pony outreach program in Indonesia and other work through Animal Aid Abroad.
