GWELUP, NORTHERN PERTH - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome New Position

PERMANENT FULL TIME OPPORTUNITY FOR SMALL ANIMAL VETERINARIAN - Gwelup/Karrinyup, Western Australia.

Job Description

About You

About Us
Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital is an independent family-owned hospital that has a strong focus on evidence based medicine, surgery, dentistry, behaviour and low-stress fear-free handling. We are a 100% small animal clinic with a high caseload.

We have separate cat and dog sections in our spacious waiting area, dedicated sterile surgical theatre with a height adjustable table, ample workspaces in the treatment area, a dental wet table and a comfortable staff room retreat for taking breaks. To complement and expand the range of services we offer our patients, we also work closely with a visiting small animal surgeon and ultrasonographer, and have a great relationship with specialist referral centres.

We aim “To be the most excellent vet hospital in Perth where we practice top end medicine and surgery, quality is uncompromised and patients are loved as our very own pets.” Our mission statement of “caring for pets, their people and our planet” is fleshed out in our daily operations running by our core values of Compassion, Accountability, Reliability and Excellence.

“Overall very high standards” was the comment from our recent VSBWA Audit.

Equipment
We believe that a well-equipped and up to date hospital is essential. Hence, you’ll have equipment such as microscopes in each consulting room, Tonovet Plus tonometer, Bionet anaesthesia monitoring, DR radiography, iM3 intraoral radiography, full iM3 dental suite, IDEXX in-house lab machines and electrosurgery unit to assist you with your case management.

Development
We encourage our team to develop skills in their special interests. We provide our vets with paid membership with CAVE and VIN, and allocate a generous amount of paid CE annually. Remuneration is based on experience, above the Industry Award, with regular remuneration assessments made based on productivity.

Testimonials from Past Employees
“I started at this practice as a new graduate in 2010. The owner has made many improvements - including modernising and updating diagnostic equipment. It’s a very supportive environment. We are a close-knit team - everyone is helpful and my employer is supportive and approachable...there is a very low staff turnover. The nursing staff is great – they’re all capable and skilled. I can highly recommend this job.” Dr Natalie Jones BVMS

“Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital has been a great clinic to start in as a new grad. I always feel supported and as if there are no stupid questions. It’s a true family clinic and the team knows how to work hard but can have a laugh at life’s silliness too. I’ve had the opportunity to do many surgeries and take on cases that some of my classmates haven’t even come close to. I’ve gained so many skills and learned so much but also felt safe and much appreciated part of this great team.” Dr Kayleigh Lange BVMS
