Experienced Small Animal Veterinarian

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to join our veterinary team at the Animal Care Centre in Malaga. The RSPCA veterinary clinic provides services for the shelter animals and the RSPCA WA Inspectorate. The veterinary team practices at a high standard, with best animal welfare being central to all treatment undertaken. Our facility is equipped with (including but not limited to) full orthopaedic kit, electrocautery unit, two IM3 dental machines, digital x-ray, ultrasound, surgivet, pulse ox, apalerts and in house blood analysers. The hours and days to be worked are negotiable - anywhere from one to five days per week. Our veterinarians usually work 8.30am - 4.30pm weekdays. No weekend or afterhours work is required. We don’t currently offer a veterinary service to the public so there is no requirement for commercial client contact in this role.

This position would suit a small animal veterinarian who is confident performing more complex surgical procedures such as medial patella luxation surgery, extra-capsular repair of cruciate ligament rupture, pinning & plating of fractures, thyroidectomy and soft palate resection. The ability to perform more complex surgeries such as TECA +/- BO and TPLO / TTO would be highly regarded but not essential. The successful candidate will need to have excellent attention to detail and be a team player. We have a wonderful team of staff who are very welcoming and will support you in your role.

You do not need to know everything or have experience in all aspects of Veterinary care – as long as your have the right attitude to learn, give things a go and use initiative, you will receive the support and training you need to enjoy your work and improve your skills in communication, surgery and consulting.
