Experienced full-time veterinarian required

We are currently looking for an experienced (3 years +) veterinarian to join our friendly, close-knit team in the southern suburbs of Perth. We are a small animal practice located in a brand new purpose-built premises with a fantastic, dedicated clientele. The practice carries the usual range of toys including digital x-ray machine and processor, iM3 dental machine, laboratory facilities, fluid pumps etc.

We are looking for someone who will offer the highest level of veterinary care and compassion, and continue our desire to provide excellent client service. The successful candidate must be comfortable with some sole-charge work and be experienced in soft tissue surgery.

The clinic is part of a larger non-corporate group, so although we are a small, close team (3 vets, 4 nurses) we have the support of a much larger base. Our strong belief is that our staff should enjoy coming to work so we value making our work environment a happy, relaxed place to be. Clinic hours are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, 9am-12pm on Saturdays with no on-call work.

Facility wise, we have full digital radiology, dental digital radiology, high end dental equipment, fancy ultrasound, in house IDEXX, capnographs, pulse ox on all 2-3 year old anaesthetic machines and a well lit and modern Sx.

Work the life you want
At Sage Vets we believe in a healthy work-life balance. No long, tiring 10-hour+ days, or 50-hour weeks followed by 30-hour weeks. You work a standard set of hours, that you agree upon upfront.

Our Live Everyday Policy
You don’t need to put your life on hold until your days off.
Our rosters are separated into three core eight-hour shifts. Our morning shift finishes at 3:00pm, our afternoon shift starts at 12:00pm, and there’s the standard 9:00am-5:00pm in there as well.
Your roster will see your work vary across all three shifts, giving you the maximum opportunity to Live Everyday. That’s our policy.

Make your weekends your own
We know weekends are important to you, so we’ve limited our weekend hours to two clinic locations only. With up to 14 vets as part of our team, the frequency of weekend work ranges from 1-in-4 to 1-in-7. When you do work the weekend, you get two additional days off to make up for it.

Our shout
When you work a Friday night or weekend, we cover your meals. It’s our shout.

Enjoy up to six weeks annual leave
On top of the standard four weeks, all Sage Vets employees can purchase two additional weeks’ leave. If you purchase this extra leave, this means that in total you’ll receive two weeks leave paid at your full pay rate, then four weeks leave paid at a half pay rate.

Part of a strong support network
At Sage Vets you’re never in this alone. Each of our staff is supported by a group of over 50 vets and nurses, all here to help you succeed. This network is available to you at all times, whether it’s in person, or via our iPad video link that provides real-time support across all of our clinics.

12-month Specialty Training

The Specialty Training Program with a Veterinary Education Emphasis is a year‐long training program in the School of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University in Western Australia. The training program offers experience in a specialty discipline with an emphasis on veterinary education through concurrent enrolment in a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education (G1025).

This position would suit a veterinary graduate with some experience, interested in university training or pursuing a residency. It offers an excellent opportunity to prepare for Membership Examinations by the ANZCVS. Exceptional new graduates will be considered. A taxable stipend of $30,000 is offered for enrolment in G1025.

Application for the trainee position is restricted to veterinarians with a degree that can be registered in Western Australia.  Australian and New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status is required for eligibility for full tuition-fee support. Successful applicants who do not meet citizenship or residency criteria are responsible for International Student Tuition Fees.

SMALL ANIMAL SURGEON – FULL TIME POSITION

WAVES is currently seeking a qualified small animal surgeon (ECVS, ACVS, FANZCVSc) or residency-trained surgeon to join and further promote our surgery group.

This is a fulltime position based on a 4-day working week. You would be working alongside an experienced board certified surgeon and will be supported in 2021 by a 3rd year surgical resident and an intern, as well as our awesome nursing and administration staff.

WAVES is a multi-discipline hospital and believes in a team orientated approach to patient care with close interaction between our other specialties in Anaesthesia, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Radiology. Our ECC clinic provides 24/7 support and care for our patients so that we can sleep well at night knowing that they are being well looked after.

The facility boasts five fully fitted sterile operating theatres as well as an interventional suite. We have on-site 1.5T MRI, 16 slice CT, two C-arms, two digital radiography suites, endoscopic units etc. If ortho is your thing, we have multiple locking plate systems, Imex linear and circular fixation systems, intraoperative fluoro, HD arthroscopy, biomedtrix universal/micro/nano THR, Kyon PGR, Arthrex synacart etc. If you are soft tissue orientated, we have multiple ligasure units, 3.5mm and 5mm laparoscopic sets, a CUSA ultrasonic aspirator, CO2 laser, Zeiss operating microscope and more.

You would be working set days but these days would be negotiated with you, weekends are shared between the vets and there is no on-call or after hours. We are closed on Public Holidays, and we work by appointment. We do look after our team members’ physical and mental health and lunch breaks are compulsory.  But we know enjoying what you do is very important so, while we are committed to our work, the atmosphere is fun and engaging.

We will reward you very well for your efforts and, as we are looking for the right vet to mesh with our existing team, we will offer you a highly competitive salary, up to $15-30k above your current annual salary because we are serious about creating a team of excellence. In addition to negotiating a salary to put a smile on your face, we also offer you paid study leave.

We do volunteer work in Lombok and are also planning to send a team to Fiji to do sterilisations. Once COVID opens our borders, you’ll be invited to participate. About Us
We are a group of two small animal clinics in the beautiful South West region of Western Australia. We are well equipped with all the usual diagnostic and monitoring equipment (including colour Doppler ultrasound, digital endoscope and access to a local CT scanner).

Due to the complete refurbishment of our on-site clinic, we are seeking a passionate, friendly vet to join our team! With a new setup, a new manager and a brand new way of working, you’ll be amazed at the scope and quality of care that you’re empowered to provide here at Cat Haven. We perform a wide range of interesting and life-saving surgeries that you rarely get to try in private practice, and we work up complex medical cases to the same degree, if not more so, than many other clinics. We treat a vast majority of cats, and those which we can’t save are decided based on veterinary and behavioural advice rather than cost constraints.

Your duties will include surgery, dentals, consults (mainly with our foster carers) and treatment of cats/kittens in our rehoming programme.
