SOUTHWEST WA - LARGE ANIMAL VETERINARY POSITION

Would you like the opportunity to get away from the stress of small animal and enjoy large animal practice at its best? Rosabrook Veterinary Services is a rapidly growing large animal practice in the heart of the beautiful Margaret River wine region.
- 45% cattle, 45% equine, 10% sheep/hobby case load. We aim to provide a high quality comprehensive service supporting the dairy, and beef industries.
- Our dairy caseload consists of large (1000 cow) share farms and smaller family owned farms. A practice philosophy is to use modern technology and ingenuity to maximise productivity whilst reducing physical effort and stress. We currently use ultrasound pregnancy testing for approximately 70% of our pregnancy testing.
- Our equine clients are also very important to us, and we are developing our practice to ensure that dental, and stud services are provided. We have recently acquired powered equine dental tools, and further study in this area is anticipated. A horse crush has also been installed for dental and reproductive work. Our equine caseload consists of generally quiet and well mannered pleasure and competition horses.
- We seek a true large animal vet with a love of both cattle and horse work. As much as experience in both species is preferable, basic experience and a strong desire to develop in weaker areas is essential. The ability to specialize into specific areas is encouraged, although solid skills in routine large animal work will be necessary.
- Margaret River is approximately 3 hours southwest of Perth; it offers beautiful beaches, wineries and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle.
- UK applicants with the ability to travel to Australia on a working holiday visa are welcome to apply, with definite potential for employer sponsored visa for the right candidate.
