Veterinary Associates is an equine general and referral practice located in Karaka, South Auckland, New Zealand with a satellite practice in Kumeu, West Auckland. This is a chance to work in conjunction with a dedicated team of thirteen veterinarians as part of a full-service equine ambulatory and referral practice. Veterinarians on staff at the Vet Associates Equine Hospital in Karaka include a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American College of Internal Medicine, and a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Equine Medicine. The specialists are readily available to provide backup and support for all members of the practice. In addition, we have two yearlong interns that rotate through surgery, medicine, and field work. We are heavily involved in all types of equine pursuits, including sport horses, Thoroughbred racehorses, Standardbred racehorses, and pleasure horses, providing a tremendous variety of work. Emergency duties are shared. Ideally the successful candidate will have an equine interest or background and wish to work in a supportive team environment while pursuing her or his experience in high-quality general practice. In addition, the candidate will have a positive outlook, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Some experience with lameness, sports medicine, and/or reproduction would make a stronger candidate.

We are looking for an experienced large animal veterinarian to cover while one of our veterinarians recovers from surgery.

 The position is for a person interested mainly in dairy work, however the practice also services horses, sheep and beef cattle and to a lesser degree deer and alpacas. Work is available in all these areas depending on the successful applicant’s interests and desires.

Applicants should preferably have at least two years experience in large animal practice but new and recent graduates will be considered. Applicants need to be enthusiastic, have good communication skills and want to be part of a team committed to providing quality service.

Te Puke Vet Centre is known for its friendly, caring and supportive work atmosphere. The clinic is modern and spacious and fully computerised. Te Puke itself has a warm sunny climate, is close to Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, the Rotorua lakes and Taupo.  The area offers a wide variety of outdoor and recreational activities including fishing, diving, water skiing, mountain biking and tramping.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic vet to join our thriving mixed practice located in Methven at the foothills of the Southern Alps. 

We are looking for a long term locum to cover maternity leave, although the position could become permanent for the right candidate.

The ideal applicant would be someone with at least 2+ years experience in mixed practice.  We need someone who’s competent with companion animal work but also enjoys the challenges of large animal practice.

Paddock Vets is a mixed practice with a strong dairy focus, servicing new, modern and progressive dairy farms in the mid Canterbury area as well as sheep and beef properties up the Rakaia and Ashburton Gorge.  We also look after the small animal needs of the Methven Township and surrounding areas.  We have 6 experienced vets and a great support team of tecs and admin staff.

We pride ourselves on being a close knit group of professionals and work hard to create a fun team environment whilst providing the best service and advice for our clients.

You will operate out of a purpose built clinic and all the equipment you will require to perform your duties including a vehicle will be provided. 

Methven, is just over an hour SW of Christchurch and offers a great lifestyle.  It’s a fantastic place to live.  A friendly town with plenty of social life, cafes, restaurants and bars and sports and activities of all kinds are available on the doorstep from tennis, squash or rugby to skiing and tramping.  Methven is also the resort town for the Mt Hutt ski field.

It’s also perfect for families with plenty to do and has great schooling with a primary school and high school located in the town - both with a great reputation. 

We offer a generous salary package depending on experience and CPD is actively encouraged.  The roster is equally shared 1 in 6 with no evening or weekend clinics and time off in lieu of weekends worked.
