Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) is looking for enthusiastic new-graduate veterinarians who are motivated by the opportunity to provide high quality diagnostic and treatment skills within a fully equipped specialist hospital environment through a 12 ½ months internship position. This position will provide the successful candidate with a strong background in companion animal general, emergency and speciality practice and an introduction to a research/publication career under the guidance of specialist veterinarians.

The interns will rotate on a shift basis rostered across day, night and weekend, through the anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, medicine and surgery services within VTH and the Pet Emergency Centre at Massey University. Interns work as primary and support clinicians, working closely with the residents and faculty clinicians in management of a varied local and referral caseload from across New Zealand. Other components of the program include participation in seminars, case rounds and journal clubs, instruction of final year veterinary students and involvement in a research project along with other special program opportunities.

You should be enthusiastic, motivated, organised, service-orientated, have a passion for education and possess excellent communication skills. The Pet Emergency Centre operates on a 24 hour basis and so your ability and willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays is essential.

Inclusive dates of the program: start date of January 7, 2019 and date of completion January 17, 2020. We are looking for veterinarians who will enjoy the challenge of providing advanced diagnostic and treatment skills within an exciting, fully equipped specialist hospital environment. We hope to offer this internship to one or two new graduate veterinarians.

Experienced Equine Veterinarian

Experienced equine veterinarian wanted for a busy South Auckland practice.  There are not many places in the world you can work in a thriving equine community and be located 25 minutues from a large metropolitan city, lovely beaches and an international airport.

We have a fully equipped hospital with all the toys inc. the latest digital XR gear, ultrasounds, endoscopes etc as well as a lameness workup area, and surgical suite. Our practice has a well balanced mix of Tb and SB racework, as well as a large sport and pleasure horse clientele . We also do a considerable amount of reproductive and stud medicine. 

Our ideal teammate would have an interest and acumen for diagnostics and lameness and work well with others. You would join a close knit and supportive group of six other work hard, play hard equine veterinarians.  We are trying to bring equine vetting into the 21st century with a 1:5 rota and a push for a work/life balance.

Included in the package is an SUV vehicle, iPhone and above award salary commensurate with experience.  We are all members of the NZVA /NZEVA and CPD allowances are generous. 

There is the possibility we may take on two veteraniarians so new and recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
