WAIMATE, CANTERBURY - FULL TIME MIXED/DAIRY ANIMAL

Veterinary Centre Waimate

Attention all recent grads! We are currently on the hunt for someone with the sound basics (ideally 2-5 years experience) who is now looking to extend themselves clinically and (with support) add some farm advisory to their skill set.

We will primarily be looking to hire someone who shows enthusiasm, a desire to be scientifically led, and a willingness to learn and work with current and future technology. With those three basics we can guide you the rest of the way!

The applicant would preferably be a grad who is comfortable enough with small animals to handle after-hours calls (with plenty of support) but wants to spend the majority of their time with large animals. We are a predominantly dairy practice, but still have a strong focus on sheep and beef, deer, and equine work, so an all-rounder would be great.

Please click here to see photos! photos

It’s easy to promise the world with development and growth for the next part of your career. In this case we offer up the chance to chat to our recent grads to see if the job is a good fit for you. They will (hopefully) tell you that we put our money where our mouth is – we have a burning desire to help our young vets develop to a point where they can eventually oversee farms for themselves (both dairy and sheep and beef), as well as follow their passion areas.

Our team of 10 vets (amongst a wider practice of 36 vets) work out of a brand-new facility in the heart of a fantastically friendly town of 4,000 people in South Canterbury. If you are keen to join us then please forward your CV and cover letter to ryan@vet111.co.nz

If you wish to discuss the role further prior to applying then feel free to contact one of our team for a confidential discussion

The balance of case load is small animals with a predominance of farms dogs. For 9 months of the year, After Hours is shared with a neighbouring Ranfurly practice, making it a generous weekend roster.
