Locum Small Animal Veterinarian required

Opportunity for a great summer role working as a locum small animal veterinarian in central Auckland for 3-6 months to cover maternity leave, starting January 2020! We are an ideally situated, Best Practice accredited clinic in Greenlane, located close to the shopping hub of Newmarket with great access to amazing beaches and hiking spots, with a fantastic team of staff.

Our ideal candidate will be confident working both independently and as part of our team to provide a thorough clinical service for our clients. We would prefer a candidate who has 2+ years’ experience, but will consider all applicants for the position, including overseas applications. Importantly, they would also need to adhere to our Best Practice standards, on which training will be provided. VIN access is readily available.

We are a 3 vet, 6 nurse practice with associated cattery, with a dedicated dental room and dental x-ray unit, digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory which includes IDEXX Procyte, biochemistry and urinalysis machines. The clinic is also supported by a variety of specialists/special interest vets who are within close proximity and always on hand for advice.

There is no requirement for OOH work, and the average working week is 37.5 hours on a 3 weekly rotating roster. There are 1:3 weekends with this position, with hours of 8.30am-4pm on Saturday and 10-2.30pm on Sunday.

This is a rare opportunity to work in a clinic where our lovely clients expect an efficient, thorough and high standard of care for their pets, and where many have been coming for generations.
