We are looking for a Vet who is enthusiastic, caring and self-motivated. Emphasis is placed on excellent interpersonal skills and good teamwork within the practice.

There is a vacancy for a PERMANENT FULL TIME VETERINARIAN in the following area:
Equine only or Equine and mixture of species.
Equine work is predominantly ambulatory although clinic hospitalisation and treatment is used as required. There is a mixture of Standardbred, Thoroughbred and pleasure horse work. A significant dressage client base is present.
A stock room is used at clinic for reproductive work (where no suitable on farm facilities are available), radiography, scanning and standing surgeries etc.
An outdoor hospital area for equine patients is currently used. A surgical box is available at clinic.
Applicants with experience or post graduate training (internship or externship) would be ideal.
Kumeu, a 'lifestyle' area, in the heart of wine country and close to West Coast beaches is located approximately 20kms northwest of Auckland city (20 minutes to CBD).
Currently 6 vets and 6 nurses are employed. Facilities are up to date and include a modern (1999) purpose built clinic and hospital. The practice workload is approximately 40% small animal, 40 % equine and 20% mixed animal. It has been established for 30+ years and has always been and still is commercially successful. The clinic is located close to Auckland, Waitakere and North Shore cities so a wide selection of city amenities and schools are available even though the surrounding area is rural.
