WAIKIWI, INVERCARGILL - FULL TIME MIXED PRACTICE New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Waikiwi Vet Services would like to express interest in a new graduate to join our fantastic veterinary team commencing 2020.  The position would suit an individual who is keen to get a true exposure in starting their career across all types of animals.

We are a truly mixed animal practice based in Invercargill.  Our small animal clinic is fully equipped with all the mod cons, including in-house bloods, digital radiographs and ultrasound, and we routinely perform orthopaedic surgeries . We have a great mix of 10 senior veterinarians and junior vets, and an established work social club for activities outside of work.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our large animal team is principally dairy based, with a growing deer client list, several sheep properties and life style blocks including alpacas, pigs, chickens, donkeys and goats.  Our other services include a fully equipped grooming room, a large retail shop, and a great team of support staff.

We are a broad minded and enthusiastic team who are happy to cater for an individual’s specific interests.

The position would suit an individual who is self-driven and has good time management qualities, yet still has the support from a great team of colleagues. The on call roster is structured with a paid day off following a weekend on call, so more time for exploring what the deep South has on offer. Queenstown is two hours' drive north, with plenty of outdoors pursuits in both summer and winter, and Southland has some of the best surf beaches in the country.

One of our recent graduates from 2018, Emma, is happy to have an informal chat to any interested new graduates interested in the position. Her email is emmad.gunn@gmail.com, otherwise contact her on the clinic phone.

In the last three years we have grown considerably, and continue to invest in new equipment and team members.

We’re looking for a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Our ideal candidate is a board certified surgeon (ECVS, ACVS or FANZCVS), we are also keen to hear from surgeons who have completed residency training.

We are offering a competitive salary and a relocation package for those relocating to Auckland.

We commit to investing and enabling your ongoing professional development.

Animal Referral Centre is based in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a great place to live - we have all the benefits of a large city with a slower pace of life. For nature enthusiasts, we have the Hauraki Gulf perfect for boating, water sports or swimming; beautiful subtropical bush for tramping; and ski fields only a short drive away. Auckland has a thriving city scene with theatre, festivals, world class restaurants and plenty of excellent shopping. Albany is located north of Auckland, well connected by public transport.
