Work life balance is important for us, especially in this industry where we have to look after each other’s mental health too. A fair and balanced roster is always the goal. You will be working apoproximately 30 hours a week although there is some flexibility in this.

Last year two of our team members within the VetLove group won the opportunity to go to Bali/Borneo for a week to spend time at the Ecolodges, where they got to experience time with Orangutans in their natural environment, how’s that for outside the box!! Covid-19 might postpone the travelling plans but the opportunity is still there.

You have the autonomy to make decisions and we trust your judgement. Our expectation is that you do the right thing for our clients, our patients, our team and your business.

We might not have all the processes in place, but we certainly have the culture, we love what we do and enjoy getting out of bed each day to go to work! Feel free to call any of our clinics and ask them what it’s like to work for VetLove, you won’t be disappointed.

We feel this is the best small animal position available outside the major cities in Australia. The population of 13,500 is supported by excellent schools, medical and sporting facilities, 24 hour gyms and a growing cafe and artistic culture. What really sets us apart is our boutique style practice with great staff and clientele; excellent facilities and equipment.

Preference will be given to an experienced vet who wishes to practice at the highest level possible outside of large referral centres. We need someone who has the knowledge and ability to handle cases well, work independently, develop the practice and look after our loyal clients and their pets as they would want their family looked after.

We know that there are some veterinarians who don’t know the obvious benefits of country living so to encourage them to look outside the square and embrace a tree-change we are offering a salary well above the award.  This is an ideal position for an experienced veterinarian who would like to establish themselves in a growing small animal practice with the desire to have a long term future in the practice through partnership or equity in the business.  However, it is also a very supportive practice, and we would be happy to mentor a new or recent graduate.  Even if you only want part time hours, talk to us as we can be very flexible to attract the right person.

Condamine Veterinary Clinic is a growing practice where we care for our clients and their pets even better than we would expect someone to care for us and our pets. Our first priority is always to our staff who are the foundation of our 9 year old purpose-built small animal clinic and we all take pride in practising an excellent standard of medicine and surgery.  Our clients are warm and friendly and our staff are all enthusiastic to develop both professionally and personally.  We have a well-equipped (including digital radiography, ultrasound, 2 Stinger anaesthetic machines with monitors, iM3 dental unit and dental radiography, in-house Idexx laboratory, orthopaedic instruments, Vet’s Choice heated cages), relaxing yet professional work environment and a supportive and courteous culture based on good work ethic, communication and education.

Condamine Vets is a growing 3 veterinarian small animal clinic and we are looking for an assistant who would love the challenge of joining with us while we progress to the next stage.  Equine and some large animal cases are all referred to our sister practice, Warwick Equine Vets, which allows for a sharing of knowledge and experience between the 2 practices when needed.  This opens up the potential for some large animal practice if the successful candidate desired this.

Our clinic hours are 8-5pm Monday- Friday and 8.30-11 am Saturday.  We do provide an emergency service outside of these hours which is shared within the practice. A full-time position including 4 weeks holidays and 1 week conference leave is preferred however conditions are negotiable.

UPPER COOMERA/ORMEAU, GOLD COAST, QLD - FULL TIME AVIAN/EXOTICS New Position

The Vet Lounge – Upper Coomera / Ormeau

We’re looking for ‘The missing piece’ to our veterinary team! Have you got something different to add? Do you love birds and maybe exotics?

Our team is made up of;

Dr Michele Rebelo – Over 25 years experience with a Membership in Emergency & Critical Care. An all round guru vet who knows everything about everything and then some more (sometimes we wonder if she’s human )………oh and she’s a gun on the ultrasound and everyone loves her. You won’t find a smarter, more lovely vet.

Dr Robert Auricht – Over 30 years experience and is an Advanced Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic Surgeon. Between Rob & Michele, there isn’t much surgery we can’t do in-house!

Dr Susannah Bolte – Over 5 years experience and a brilliant surgeon. Quick Draw McGraw with the scalpel! Susannah is also a large animal vet so takes care of all of the large animal work. The nurses love her as she’s always helping someone! A fabulous team player.

Dr Tamara Beasley – Over 3 years experience with a special interest in repro work, so she obviously looks after our breeding clients. Tamara has a special interest in medicine and is learning from Dr Michele. Tamara is very chatty and the clients & team love her. She just won Employee of the Month!

Dr Caitlin Ghent – 12 months experience. Caitlin is our new grad but she’s so good at communication with clients that she has a big client following already. This girls not afraid to take on new challenges! Ex lap? Caitlin's got her hand up! Everyone wants to work with Caitlin because she never stops smiling. Seriously, never. She’s brightens up any room she walks into.

There’s a common theme with our vets. Did you see it?
They are all really lovely, genuine people, who are excel in their own areas of interest. But to make this team complete we need a vet who is interested in birds and maybe pocket pets, but mostly birds. When Dr Michael was with us full time, we had lots of practices refer bird clients to us. We were the ‘go to’ for birds. Sadly, we don’t have someone free all the time now so our Avian friends have no place to go without fighting the M1 and heading to Brisbane.

Interested in birds but not 100% confident yet? No worries. We’re willing to send you on courses and offer some training. The good news is, Dr Stacey Gelis works for one of our practices on the Sunshine Coast and he’s one of the best Avian Vets in the country! Dr Stacey graduated from vet school in 1991 and in 1995 obtained a Membership in Avian Medicine. As with all of our vets, he’s totally lovely and always willing to help and give advice. What an opportunity!!!

Toys / equipment
Now I could waffle on about all the toys we have but we know that’s not why you choose a practice. It’s the people that matter and we’ve introduced you to the team. A positive working environment is super important to us. No bitching, moaning and whinging – we work together to provide amazing patient care, then go home, have a wine, and feel great about what we offered the world today. It’s a great environment to work in and we’re even happy for you to call the practice and speak to one of the vets just to make sure we’re not mongrels to work for (I bribed them with Crispy Cremes to say nice things so I’m confident). Seriously, call them to see if its the right job for you. The number is (07) 5502 3333.

Please click here to see photos! photos

FORMALITIES
The job is full time 38 hours. Salary depends on who you are what you’re adding to the team but we always pay above award. The roster is currently 1 in 2 Saturday mornings & 4 days per week.

We’ve just started opening all day Saturday and Sunday, however Dr Michele (our guru medical and emergency vet) works the Saturday afternoons and Sundays each week. We ask our vets to be available when Dr Michele is away or unwell. So…..not many at all.

If you’d like to be part of a team long term and have an interest in Avian medicine, we’d like to hear from you. BUT….if you’re just a really great all-round GP vet who is great with client service, we want to hear from you too! Vets with experience with Birds or an interest in birds however, will have a little edge.

The job will be split between our Ormeau practice and Coomera practice. It’s all negotiable though, so come in and we’ll chat about what you want.

HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A CHAT
Send your CV to mary@vetlounge.com.au & we’ll call you to work out a time.
Lots of opportunities here in a family environment with high standards of care. Can’t wait to meet you.
