ORMEAU-BASED, GOLD COAST - SMALL ANIMAL MOBILE

Animal Options Vet Clinic and Wet Noses Mobile Vet are looking for a Full-time vet to join our mobile practice.

Do you want to go to work and feel like you can go home with a sense of achievement? Do you want to have a purpose and feel like you are changing your clients & patients’ life?

Unfortunately, in many vet clinics, the reality may look like this:

You would be forgiven for wondering what is wrong with the vet industry and maybe even be questioning why you entered this profession in the first place.

The good news is that not every practice is the same, not every team is broken and not every client is complicated. There is hope and we are working on it right now.

We have a great team of vet nurses, receptionists, vets and a practice manager that are passionate about patient & client care and we are working on an innovative vet business model: Mobile Vet alongside a Clinic, this is where we integrate Wet Noses Mobile Vet with Animal Options Vet Clinic.

Please click here to see photos! photos

You may have heard the old myth that working as a mobile vet can be messy and difficult. At Animal Options Vet Clinic and Wet Noses Mobile Vet, we would love to give you an opportunity to have a much better experience as a clinician and better interaction with clients. This is because when you work in our mobile clinic:

From client to client you will be driving through beautiful scenery on the Gold Coast, from the coast to the bush, there is always a great coffee shop where you can stop for your lunch (which will be allocated on your appt list so you can eat in peace).

All of the above comes with all the usual perks that everyone offers but isn’t always enough: good pay, Vin membership, CPD allowance, etc. But the most important thing is the team, our team is the best and every staff member will show you how awesome it is to work here!

On top of all of that we are flexible, with your time, with your roster, with your appt list, with how you want to handle your day and even with what’s your special interest. If you want some time in the clinic to do surgeries, dentals, consults, X-rays etc then we can arrange that.  At Animal Options Vet Clinic and Wet Noses Mobile Vet we work to our strengths and we focus on what brings us joy and purpose.

Ready to give it a go? Come and see what we are doing.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you then please email our Practice Manager Jody at jodylangmaid@animaloptionsvetclinic.com.au for more information. Alternatively you can call 07 5546 5756 for more information and an informal chat.

The team at Animal Options Vet Clinic and Wet Noses Mobile Vet look forward to hearing from you.

MERMAID WATERS, GOLD COAST - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Full Time or Part Time Position

We are a six-veterinarian small animal only veterinary clinic with a fantastic work environment and great clientele. We are looking for a veterinarian with an easy-going nature who can fit in with our ethos: that the most important element of a veterinary practice is a healthy and happy workplace.

Our Mermaid Vet clinic, centrally located on the Gold Coast, is just a few minutes from the white sands of Mermaid Beach. A veterinary surgery has been established on this site for over forty years. Since purchasing the clinic fourteen years ago, the owners have been successful in growing the practice into one of the most highly respected clinics on the Gold Coast. The clinic is family owned and operated with a belief in providing the best veterinary care, without the need for ‘over servicing’ or performance reviews. We do our utmost to provide an environment in which veterinarians and nurses can enjoy their work every day.

Having the highest quality veterinary equipment means that diagnostic procedures can be efficient and more enjoyable in the day-to-day routine. Our clinic has a dedicated imaging room with DR x-ray and an advanced ultrasound machine. Our DR x-ray machine produces high resolution images in a matter of seconds. We also have a Phillips XD-11 ultrasound sound machine with 3d Doppler that we use routinely, but also provide training for our vets through a visiting ultra-sonographer. Our pathology suite is complete with an Idexx Catalyst biochemistry and Procyte haematology machines – delivering blood tests in approximately 15 minutes. Our dental suite consists of two IM3 dental machines both with sub-gingival scalers and a wall mounted DR dental x-ray. Six consultation rooms, a dedicated imaging room, dental room and surgery complemented by multiple prep areas also make for hassle free procedures. We also believe that veterinarians should never stop learning. We support ongoing education, career advancement and encourage the development of personal interests within the veterinary field.

We have an outstanding group of nurses with many decades of experience between them. They are highly supportive of our vets and take pride in our clinic. Our nurses all excel in various fields that support primary veterinary care including nutrition and behavioural training.

A small animal veterinarian with a long-term view for employment would be best suited for this position. An interest in a field, such as medicine or surgery, for example, would be favourable. New and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. No after-hours or on-call work is required. All after hours cases are referred to a close by afterhours clinic.

If you are looking for practice with back-to-back fifteen minute consults and the constant pressure of KPI based reviews, then this isn’t the job for you.

We offer a steady and manageable daily workload with 30 minutes allocated for every consultation. Shifts are structured with 5 veterinarians working at any one time on weekdays and 3 veterinarians on Saturday mornings. This provides excellent peer support for veterinarians and enough time to manage caseloads. Pay rate is based on level of experience and suitability to the practice. We are offering a superior pay package, conference leave, membership to vet education, access to VIN, procedures and products at cost and most importantly, a position where you can devote your time to the best care and outcomes for companion animals.

Have a look on our website to see who we are and what we are all about.

The House Call Vet After Hours service is a unique after hours house call service covering all areas of Brisbane. Like the house call doctors service for people, THCV After Hours sees cases that are not severe enough for referral to an emergency facility but need treatment before their regular vet is next open. Common cases include eye/skin/ear problems, lameness, vomiting/diarrhoea, and urinary issues. Home euthanasia is also a very important part of our service.

Unlike other vet to home services that expect you to provide your own vehicle, drugs and equipment, THCV After Hours ensures you are fully supported. We set you up with everything you need to practice great medicine, which means that all you need to bring to work is yourself.

Our support includes:

Our after-hours service operates every evening (6pm-midnight Monday to Friday, 3pm-midnight Saturdays) and all day on Sundays and public holidays (7am-midnight) and is seeing an increasing & interesting caseload. We aim to be able to attend all appointment requests within 2 hours and tend to book an appointment every hour to hour and a half. The after hours service is based out of our Kenmore practice.

Remuneration is very lucrative with an hourly rate starting from $75 depending on experience & your tailored remuneration package.

THE GAP, BRISBANE WEST - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

The Gap Veterinary Surgery is a well-equipped, privately owned 3 vet, 5 nurse small animal practice located in a picturesque suburb approximately 8 km west of the Brisbane CBD.

We are a long-established practice that enjoys a client demographic best described as well-educated, amicable and pet focussed.

The practice is seeking to employ a full time (negotiable) veterinarian.

No after hours, no public holidays and the practice is closed on Sundays.

Necessary qualities are a good sense of humour, a genuine fondness for people and pets, professional poise with clients and staff, mature communication skills, and a relaxed, collegial mindset.

Successful applicants will be working with and well supported by a polite, vastly experienced, long-term proprietor of the business (BVSc UQ 91; MANZCVS 2004 (Small Animal Surgery)) who fosters thoroughness, professional development and the maintenance of a healthy work-life balance.

The practice is very well equipped – digital radiography, extensive range of surgical instruments and equipment, electrosurgical unit, suction, patient warmers, multi-parameter patient monitors, CRI pumps, in-house haematology, blood and urine chemistry analysers, IM3 dental unit.

We manage a vast array of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical cases that might otherwise be referred, and we regularly utilise a visiting specialist ultrasonographer.

Our nurses are certificate IV qualified or are in the process of becoming so. Our head nurse is AVNAT accredited, and has 12 years nursing experience, including specialist nursing. Our senior nurses place IV catheters, perform radiography, and establish and monitor anaesthesia and CRI’s. If you ask for a Frazier suction tip, you won’t get a tom cat catheter! If you want a Volkmann bone curette, you won’t have to describe it as “the thingy that looks like a tiny ice cream scoop”.

Are you tired of being professionally restricted by corporate dictates? Do you want to practice veterinary medicine and surgery in a supportive, relaxed and good-humoured environment? Do you want to be part of a team that is an integral part of a tight-knit, family-oriented, pet-loving community?

We love our work, we support one another, we like to have a laugh, and we feel privileged to be practicing in The Gap.

Remuneration will be commensurate experience and clinical skill set. Please send a covering letter (including a description of your suitability) and your resume to chapposd@outlook.com. For further information please feel free to contact the practice owner Scott Chapman on 0474 786 699.
