GREENSLOPES, SOUTHERN BRISBANE - AVIAN/EXOTICS New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Veterinary Position Vacant - Avian & Exotics - Full Time
Brisbane Bird and Exotics Vet

Let’s just speak honestly, shall we? This past two years have been HARD. Really hard. And veterinary teams all across the world have been struggling with the workload of COVID safe consulting, stressed clients, increased pet acquisition with increased numbers of their humans working from home, and increased staff absence with the looming threat of COVID positives. BBEVS is no exception, and we find ourselves recruiting for another vet to join our fabulous team.

Despite these challenges, veterinary medicine, even in the past two years, is a GREAT career. Being an avian and exotic vet, in particular, is a freakin’ awesome job to have! It requires dedication and growth (both professional and personal) but pays back by being inspiring, ever-changing and fulfilling. And being an exotics vet at BBEVS is even better (we say, very modestly)!

We are looking for the right fit, and are open to varying breadth of experience and qualification (GP or exotic). Shared values, positive outlook, and great commitment to the field are much more important to us.

We have appreciative and amazing clients (so much so that we’ve had to set a limit on number of boxes of Thank-You-Chocolates that we are allowed to open each week!), a team of top-notch staff who are highly dedicated and highly trained and a building that is efficiently packed with all the things that go ‘’ping’!

What do we offer?

What we need:

WARWICK, SOUTH DARLING DOWNS - MIXED New Graduates welcome

Mixed Practice Veterinarian Positions Available – Warwick, QLD

Warwick Town and Country Vets is a well-established privately owned clinic, currently seeking to employ 2 mixed practice veterinarians.  The position is very flexible and can either be full/part-time or casual.  Experienced veterinarians, and or new or recent graduates will be considered for the positions with continued support and mentoring provided.

We are a small but dedicated team of 2 vets and 4 nurses, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and practicing a high quality of veterinary medicine and surgery to our friendly and loyal clientele.  You will be working in a friendly and relaxed environment with an experienced team of supportive staff.  The clinic has a mix of approximately 80% small animals and 20% large animals (horses, cattle, sheep and goats).

Our veterinary hospital is equipped with modern technology including a digital x-ray machine, an ultrasound, a dental x-ray machine and im3 dental unit.  We run Vision software which integrates with our in house IDEXX laboratory which consists of a lasercyte, catalyst one, coag analyser, vetlab urinalysis and microscopes.  We have multiple fluid pumps for hospital and surgery patients.  We have 2 anaesthetic machines and monitoring equipment.  We have a power float for equine dentals.

Our clinic hours are 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday and 9am to 12pm Sunday, and we provide an afterhours emergency service at all other times.  Since extending our opening hours it has greatly reduced our afterhours work, but in saying that, it is still required as the nearest emergency centres are over an hour away. We do take some of the stress out of being the vet on call by having a great team of very experienced nurses who are on call with you, but most importantly they take and answer the afterhours phone which means that you will only get a call from the afterhours nurse if they need further advice or in an event of a true emergency. A work car is provided for on call use.

We have always been supportive of a great work-life balance and think that this is essential for a rewarding career in this profession; therefore, our rosters and hours are very flexible.  You may like to work 2 days a week or 5 days a week or even just 1 week a month.  Salary will be upwards of $120000pa + super depending on experience and the number of hours you choose to work (based on 40-hour week).  An additional bonus will be paid after the initial 3 months once you decide that this is the job for you.  You will be given 1 weeks paid study leave and $5000 to spend on continuing education in addition to 4 weeks holiday leave each year.

WARWICK, SOUTHERN DARLING DOWNS - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Small Animal Veterinarian WARWICK, Qld
CONDAMINE VETERINARY CLINIC

Amazing opportunity close to Brisbane, yet far enough away to enjoy the country life.

We feel this is the best small animal position available outside the major cities in Australia. Warwick is a small town which has great facilities and is close to Brisbane, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. The population of 13,500 is supported by excellent schools, medical and sporting facilities, 24 hour gyms and a growing cafe and artistic culture. Warwick is nestled on the attractive farmland of Queensland’s Darling Downs and there is close access to walking trails at the many nearby National Parks. There is a secure dog park situated alongside the picturesque Condamine River walk and a range of horse sports are active in the area. This is a fantastic place to raise a family and an affordable, relaxing place to live.

What really sets us apart is our boutique style practice with great staff and clientele; excellent facilities and equipment.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Preference will be given to an experienced vet who wishes to practice at the highest level possible outside of large referral centres. We need someone who has the knowledge and ability to handle cases well, work independently, develop the practice and look after our loyal clients and their pets as they would want their family looked after.

We know that there are some veterinarians who don’t know the obvious benefits of country living so to encourage them to look outside the square and embrace a tree-change we are offering a salary well above the award. This is an ideal position for an experienced veterinarian who would like to establish themselves in a growing small animal practice with the desire to have a long term future in the practice. However, it is also a very supportive practice, and we would be enthusiastic to mentor a new or recent graduate.

Condamine Veterinary Clinic is a growing practice where we care for our clients and their pets even better than we would expect someone to care for us and our pets. Our first priority is always to our staff who are the foundation of our 10 year old purpose-built small animal clinic and we all take pride in practising an excellent standard of medicine and surgery. Our clients are warm and friendly and our staff are all enthusiastic to develop both professionally and personally. We have a well-equipped (including digital radiography, ultrasound, 2 Stinger anaesthetic machines with monitors, iM3 dental unit and dental radiography, in-house Idexx laboratory, orthopaedic instruments, Vet’s Choice heated cages), relaxing yet professional work environment and a supportive and courteous culture based on good work ethic, communication and education.

Condamine Vets is a growing 3 veterinarian small animal clinic and we are looking for an assistant who would love the challenge of joining with us while we progress to the next stage. Equine and some large animal cases are all referred to our sister practice, Warwick Equine Vets, which allows for a sharing of knowledge and experience between the 2 practices when needed. This opens up the potential for some large animal practice if the successful candidate desired this.

Our clinic hours are 8-5pm Monday- Friday and 8.30-11 am Saturday. We do provide an emergency service outside of these hours which is shared within the practice. A full-time position including 4 weeks holidays and 1 week conference leave is preferred however conditions are negotiable.

CARRARA, GOLD COAST - SMALL ANIMAL/SPECIALIST - INTERNAL MEDICINE

Are you a Small Animal Internal Medicine specialist or registrar who enjoys a work environment where a complex case load is managed by a genuine multi-disciplinary team?

Would you like to be part of a workplace where the aim is to allow the vets to do the medicine and the practice creates an environment and staff mix to manage the other parts of day-to-day practice?

Most if not all Veterinary practices have become significantly busier over the last 12 months.  We have not been immune to this and are adapting our teams and processes with the aim of delivering the excellent patient care we are known for, while trying to provide our team with the working environment that is sustainable for them.  This is a big challenge!  We need the right people to help us manage our case load, and this has led to a number of new roles being created.  We would like to increase our team size in the internal medicine department, specifically at our Carrara hospital.  The Carrara hospital is currently the only specialist referral practice servicing Queensland’s Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales.  We have a wide and varied case load derived from a diverse client base (ranging from the urban Gold Coast to rural Northern NSW) with high levels of owner commitment and compliance.

GOLD COAST, MERMAID WATERS - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Full Time/Part time/Casual Veterinarian Position

In addition, we will also EXCEED your current remuneration package!

Mermaid Vet is extending this invitation to all veterinarians to consider a position at Mermaid Vet on the Gold Coast. All applicants would be considered from new graduates to experienced veterinarians.

Within the veterinary industry, the common business model incorporating performance reviews, KPI's and product quotas is driving extremely high attrition rates, as it is in direct conflict with the ethos of most veterinarians.

It is our belief that veterinarians are drawn into their career pathway with a desire to provide optimal care for animals, not to over service clients or achieve sales targets.

Our main performance parameters are happy and co-operative individuals who place the needs of our patients above all else.

Consultations are made in thirty minute blocks. Our appointment structure allows for adequate time to manage hospital cases and complete thorough work ups for every patient. There are no afterhours as we refer after hours cases to a reputable local after hours facility. Every staff member has a weekly RDO. We perform regular orthopaedic surgery with the help of a visiting surgical specialist.

Our team of six well experienced veterinarians work cooperatively and collaboratively to provide a working environment brimming with support and guidance. Each of our veterinarians excels in one or more fields, allowing our clinic to offer a vast array of expertise. All of our veterinary nurses are fully qualified and provide excellent knowledgeable assistance. There are a minimum of four veterinarians working at any one time and we consistently maintain a higher ratio of vet nurses to vets.

Additionally, having the highest quality veterinary equipment means that diagnostic procedures can be efficient and more enjoyable in the day-to-day routine. Our clinic has a dedicated imaging room with DR x-ray and an new advanced ultrasound machine. Our DR x-ray machine produces high resolution images in a matter of seconds. We use our ultrasound machine routinely, but also provide training for our vets through a visiting ultra-sonographer. Our pathology suite is complete with an Idexx Catalyst biochemistry and Procyte haematology machines – delivering blood tests in approximately fifteen minutes. Our dental suite consists of two IM3 dental machines both with sub-gingival scalers and a wall mounted DR dental x-ray. Six consultation rooms, a dedicated imaging room, dental room and surgery complemented by multiple prep areas also make for hassle free procedures.

We also believe that veterinarians should never stop learning. We support ongoing education, career advancement and encourage the development of personal interests within the veterinary field.

We are a family friendly practice understanding the needs of staff with children. We are also offering conference leave, membership to vet education, VIN access, vet products and procedures at cost.

But most importantly, we offer a professional working life where you can devote your time and efforts to the best care and outcomes for companion animals.

Have a look on our website to see who we are and what we are all about.

DAYBORO, MORETON BAY REGION - MIXED sponsorship available

The Old Mill Animal Hospital are searching for you.

Old Mill offers you that quaint country charm, whilst ticking all the right boxes for what you'd expect from an inner-city facility. We have 3 spacious consult rooms, a designated isolation ward, wet bench, separate sterile prep bench, a large theatre, huge kennel space, internal and external dog runs, a purpose office space to remove yourself from the floor and a designated staff area that is well removed from client eye. Yep, our clinic is better set out than yours. Add the CR x-ray, mobile ultrasound, iM3 machine, internal laboratory and kitty cottage, suddenly you can see yourself working here, right? I know that we can. Just in case we haven't won you over already, Old Mill comes with a well skilled nursing team, to take the stress away, and our clinic cat Sharni is probably the cutest thing you'll see all week. We're not even kidding, she is adorable.

Dayboro is only a 30min drive west of the Bruce Highway. Like to listen to audiobooks, or play your music way too loud? Me too. The scenic commute, all open road and no traffic lights, gives you the best opportunity to pump yourself up before work, or wind yourself down after work. I may not be able to sing (at all, seriously I am tone deaf) but the drive to and from Dayboro is the highlight of my day. Perhaps it could be for you too?

We are seeking an experienced and good-natured veterinarian, part time or full time, who is highly motivated, with the energy and drive to see this clinic for exactly what it is, a little hidden gem full of good vibes and great staff. Our clinic may be big in size, but we are smaller in clientele. No back-to-back 10minute consult blocks to ruin your mental health and no overscheduled surgical chaos to get you down. Like a decent hot-cross bun at Easter? Our local bakery has won awards for this. It will change your life (and possibly your waist line. Sorry, not sorry).
