WATERFORD WEST, LOGAN - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL, RECENT GRADUATES WELCOME

Full or Part Time Experienced Vet - Recent Graduates Also Welcome to Apply

Would you like to work family-friendly or life-style compatible hours? Do you enjoy cycling, surfing or kayaking, rock climbing, art galleries and performances, or just lazing on the back patio sipping a nice red? Perhaps you like being part of the café set?
Our 2 practices are located in Logan City in the ever expanding and progressing Brisbane-Gold Coast South East corridor. We are 45 minutes from the gorgeous gold coast beaches, 20 minutes from GOMA, theatres and concert halls, and the cafes and restaurants of the Southbank precinct. The spectacular and challenging Bunya Mountains are just over an hour further north and offers bush walks, camping and hiking, and rock climbing for the more adventurous. And best of all, you can afford to live here! What’s not to like?

We are looking for a full time or part time vet with 3-4 years+ experience who is interested in joining our great team.
We have all the usual in house diagnostic toys including Idexx Procyte, Catalyst, Snapshot Dx, and Urinalysis machines, digital xray and dental xray units, ultrasound, as well as dedicated surgical and orthopaedic facilities, IM3 dental suites including LED lighting, patient warmers during anaesthesia, etc, etc. And we always aim to treat patients and clients according to best practice medicine and surgery. We pride ourselves on our ability to offer advanced diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures in house including ACTH stimulation and phenobarbitone assays, TTA’s, TPLO’s and TTO’s, and many other treatment acronyms.

You need to work as part of the team, but also comfortably handle sole charge. You will want to do the best for the patients and clients, and provide good service and communication. You need to be available on alternate Saturday mornings from 8am-1pm, as well as weekdays from 8am-6:30pm. You will want to sink your professional teeth into those interesting medicine and surgery cases, and be willing to expand your medical and surgical skills.

You will be able to sleep at night and on weekends, as we have an After Hours emergency service minutes up the road, as well as a specialist centre. You also have a team of experienced medical and surgical seniors at your disposal to help nut out those fun, challenging cases.

You don’t want to be confined to the practice premises all day every day? We hear you (and our clients), so we have a house call service that goes to local pet owners and retirement villages on a regular basis. It is a breath of fresh air, and a way to reach out to pets and people in the comfort of their own homes.

All we need from you is to be registered with the VSB in Qld, have a few years experience in small animal practice, a solid grounding in medical and surgical procedures, and a desire to give genuine high quality patient care and customer service. We would want you to demonstrate a keenness for a particular area of medicine or surgery – we will help you expand your knowledge and skillset. We have great staff, a friendly and communicative atmosphere, and clients who want to be listened to and serviced.

Obviously all the usual things apply - salary package commensurate with experience and skill set, 4 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave. Access to specialist seminars, VIN, online webinars, and vet education thru the practice also available.

All this comes with a salary package from $76,650 for the right candidate!

MERMAID WATERS, GOLD COAST - FULL TIME SMALL ANIMAL / PARTNERSHIP POTENTIAL New Position

Full time position

We are a medium size, small animal only vet clinic with a fantastic work environment and great clientele.  We are looking for a vet with an easy going nature who can fit in with our ethos, that the most important element of a practice is a healthy and happy work place.

Our Mermaid Vet clinic, centrally located on the Gold Coast, is just a few minutes from the white sands of Mermaid Beach.  This veterinary surgery has been established for over forty years.  Since purchasing the clinic eleven years ago, the owners have been succeeded in growing the practice into one of the most highly respected clinics on the coast.  The clinic is family owned and operated with a belief in providing the best veterinary care, without the need for ‘over servicing’ or performance reviews.   This superior level of service cannot be achieved without veterinarians who enjoy their work every day.

Having the highest quality veterinary equipment means that diagnostic procedures can be efficient and more enjoyable in the day-to-day routine.  Our clinic has a new, DR x-ray machine that produces crystal clear images in a matter of seconds.  We also have a Phillips XD-11, w/3D doppler ultrasound sound machine that we use routinely, but also provide training for our vets through a visiting ultrasonographer. We have recently purchased an Idexx Catalyst biochemistry and Procyte haematology suite.   These are top of the line machines that provide better diagnostic information and deliver it more quickly to you. Our IM3 dental machine and multiple prep areas also make for hassle free procedures. We also believe that veterinarians should never stop learning.  We support ongoing education, career advancement and the development of personal interests within the veterinary field.

We have an outstanding group of nurses with over forty years of experience between them.  They are highly supportive of our vets and take pride in our clinic. Our nurses all excel in various fields that support primary veterinary care including nutrition and behavioural training.

A small animal veterinarian with a long-term view for employment would be best suited for this position.  An interest in surgery with soft tissue surgery experience would be preferred.   No after-hours or on-call work is required.  If you are looking for practice with back-to-back consults without a moment’s respite, then this isn’t the job for you.  We offer a steady daily work load with thirty minutes allocated for every consultation.  Pay rate is based on level of experience and suitability to the practice.  We are offering a superior pay package, conference leave and consideration for buying into a partnership for the right candidate.

Have a look on our website to see who we are and what we are all about.

We're lucky enough to have an incredible existing staff of vets and nurses who do a superb job of keeping our practices patient-focused so we'd like someone with the same level of enthusiasm and passion for their job to become part of our team.

The clinic is well fitted out with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx in-house blood labs, diagnostics, dental machines, ECG and all the other you-beaut gadgets - but our focus is the people.

You'll be covering a maternity leave contract part time or full time if preferred, including Saturday mornings but all emergency and after hours are referred to AES. The odd evening surgery occurs every now and then (for which you'll be paid).

Our busy practice is a reflection on the service we provide. We offer and support CPD as well as guidance throughout all surgical procedures.

If you'd like to join a proactive, fun and energetic team (and privately owned practice that reward and appreciate our staff) who enjoy a laugh as well as a supportive working environment, email your application to: admin@thepoint.vet
