Experienced vet required for a mixed veterinary practice at Kingston in the South East of South Australia. To commence February for up to 6 months with the possibility of extension of this period if mutually agreeable.

Kingston is located on the coast and is approximately 3 hours drive from Adelaide. The role is full time with 4 weeks annual leave and an additional one week conference leave with conferences and accommodation generally also paid for after 12 months of full time employment. Flexible work hours can also be negotiated. After hours on call is currently shared equally between 7 vets, with 2 days off after a weekend on call. Nurses are rostered to be available and mostly take the on-call telephone as extra assistance afterhours.

Our clinic also looks for personal fulfilment, adventure and to “Save the World”. We have held homeless vaccination and health check drives in our community, provided assistance for victims of domestic violence with their pets during times of emergency and held community cat desexing programs monthly. In 2016 our Practice Owner and Principal Vet took two nurses to remote India to work for a Vets Beyond Border sterilization project for street dogs. This year our Practice Manager and a Senior Vet are planning a clinic supported trip to Botswana. We seek to constantly improve; working with a Veterinary Practice Coach, running programs for interested team members doing personal development with Lincoln Institute Emerging Leaders Program and we are currently trialling and hope to continue a 4 day per week roster for our full-time vets.

Recreational activities in the area are many and varied including organised sport, visiting wineries, arts, water-skiing, camping and generally enjoying the beautiful country environment. The Riverland is a great place to live and visit. For more information on the area please check out
