We are currently seeking a part-time Veterinarian with energy and drive to contribute to our committed and compassionate team and improve the lives of pets. This role covers every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, every second Saturday and 1 in 12 Sundays 0930-1330.

The perfect candidate will be able to work independently but also as part of our close-knit team of four vets and large, capable nursing team. Sole charge will sometimes be required but is not a big part of this position, and you will always have access to our national network of support and training.

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre was established in 2001 and is co-located with North Shore Veterinary Hospital. NSVH was built in 1935 and is the longest standing Veterinary hospital on the North Shore of Sydney. The Opportunity:

NSVSC is looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian with at least one year of experience to join our Surgery or Medicine teams in 2020 for a one-year internship.

This is a great opportunity for motivated veterinarians with an interest in pursuing further surgical or medicine training or who intend to sit memberships.

The roster is five days each week with 1 in 3 weekends – with days off either side to make up for weekend days worked.

About you:

Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in NSW. The position includes four weeks annual leave and one-week conference leave. Who are we?

Sylvania Veterinary Hospital is located in the south of Sydney, in the Sutherland Shire. We are an ASAV accredited Hospital of Excellence. This is a large, busy, small animal hospital with a reputation for providing the highest level of both patient and client care. There are thirty-three team members and we are open 7am to 11pm on weekdays, 7am to 8pm on weekends and 8am to 5pm on public holidays. There are no after hours. Our team consists of vets, vet nurses and junior animal attendants.

There is a varied case load and a wide range of equipment, including ultrasonography, digital radiography, endoscopy, a vet tome and advanced anaesthetic monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry, a Parkes doppler and end tidal CO2 monitoring. There are veterinarians with special interests in orthopaedics, ultrasonography, feline medicine, behaviour, birds, rabbits and wildlife as well as internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

We are a new graduate-friendly hospital employing many new graduates over the years and being a supporter of the Vet Partners new graduate program.  We have a very experienced veterinary team including our hospital director who has over 12 years veterinary experience and 10 years of mentoring new graduates and final year veterinary students. We have part-time and full-time veterinarians.

Veterinary Associate:

This is a full-time or part-time veterinary position. The full-time position is an eight-week rotating roster with two three-day weekends every four weeks. This includes every second Saturday and one in four Sundays. The part-time position would be negotiable.

Opening hours are 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 2pm Saturdays, and closed for appointments on Sundays. There is minimal overtime, as we aim to leave on time each day. There is no after hours work.

This position offers a negotiable base salary range of $52,000 - $90,000 (pro rata for part-time), dependant on the suitable applicant’s skills and experience. Whilst NVC seeks to source applicants who meet the above criteria and skill set, alternative applicant’s may still be considered. In these cases, the base salary is subject to change to suit.

The Position:

Our clinic at Alexandria are offering the opportunity to join our welcoming and friendly team with the energy and drive to make a real difference. With an established base of loyal clients, we are looking for committed and passionate Full and Part Time vets to complete our team.

Our practice is only three years old and is a co-located clinic, meaning it is located next door to a Petbarn retail store. The benefits of this are endless, allowing for a steady-stream of cross-referrals and providing a broader network of pet care professionals, helping achieve a truly memorable and positive experience for all your clients and their pets. 

We are proud of our efficient, adaptable and supportive vets, we are a close-knit team that would love to welcome a new member into our clinic. Greencross Alexandria is fully equipped with Vepalabs Bichemistry and Haematology units, digital x-ray and Im3 dental.
