Applications are being accepted for Veterinarians interested in an 18-month internship in equine medicine, surgery, reproduction and imaging at REC at our brand-new, purpose-built Hospital in Horsley Park.

REC is a purely equine practice servicing a wide range of horses and ponies, from miniature to elite race and sport horses. Although we have a proud history and extensive experience servicing the Thoroughbred Racing industry, a wide array of breeds and conditions are treated daily providing the best possible surgical and medical care for the horses of NSW and beyond.

Our practice of registered equine specialist’s services the fields of surgery, medicine and anaesthesia. Our hospital caseload encompasses a combination of referral and primary accessions and our ambulatory stud medicine and reproduction rotations are carried out at Illawarra Equine Centre and Southern Highlands Equine Centre.

The successful applicants will receive experience in surgery, anaesthesia, medicine, sports medicine/rehabilitation, ophthalmology, reproduction (including ET, frozen and chilled semen) and imaging (radiology, ultrasonography, dynamic respiratory endoscopy and nuclear medicine). The applicants will be involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cases seen on rotation including routine ambulatory, racetrack and supervised after hours work.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated and keen to make the most of an 18-month position in our busy high-profile equine practice. Our practice boasts a well-established mentoring program and supported with a strong team atmosphere.

Part Time Veterinarian Position - North Richmond Vet Hospital

North Richmond Vet Hospital is looking for a part time experienced veterinarian to join our energetic and passionate team of 6 vets, 10 nurses and 2 receptionists. Our Practice is located in the Hawkesbury region and is about 1 hour from Sydney. North Richmond is located at the base of the Blue Mountains on the Hawkesbury River.

North Richmond Vet is an independently owned busy small animal hospital that has grown significantly in the last 18 months. We treat a wide variety of patients from dogs and cats, show and breeding animals, exotic pets and wildlife. We also work with rescue organisations. Our hospital is well equipped with digital Xray, IM3 dental Xray, vet tome and dental machine, ultrasound, Vetscan suite, i-stat, imagyst, CUBE-VET analyser, V200 analyser, Valleylab electrocautery, an endoscope and orthopaedic equipment as well and the latest anaesthetic machines and patient monitors. Plans have been finalised for a brand-new purpose-built clinic. Building should be complete in the next 18 months and will include the installation of a CT scanner.

We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to join our team and help with the heavy surgery case load of orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery as well as consultations and medical cases. The position is part time with afterhours available if wanted for emergency surgical cases. Renumeration will be $60-$80 per hour, this will be based on experience and ability. Further education is encouraged and financial help with course fees is offered.

Two of our nurses have been here close to twenty years with the other 3 being here around 10 years each. They are all nice girls, get on very well & all very welcoming to any new staff.

The full time working roster with 4 vets is a 6 ½ day fortnight & you are never expected to work alone. The average working week is about 34 hour. Our experienced vets have often commented that this is the best roster they have ever worked under as it offers a great work life balance. On the longer days, if we are quiet, there are usually a few hours in the middle of the day to have to yourself.

About us:

North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre was established in 2001 and is co-located with North Shore Veterinary Hospital. NSVH was built in 1935 and is the longest standing Veterinary hospital on the North Shore of Sydney. We are a 24/7, 365 day a year facility with specialists in internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, dermatology, dentistry and exotics, a bustling and supportive emergency department, as well as a progressive general practice.

In early 2019 we moved to a brand-new state of the art, purpose-built facility. The Opportunity

NSVSC is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinarian with at least one year of experience to join our Emergency and Critical Care team in 2021 for a one-year internship. 

This is a great opportunity for motivated Veterinarians with an interest in pursuing further ECC training or who intend to sit memberships. 

The roster is five days each week with 1 in 3 weekends – with days off either side to make up for weekend days worked.

About you

Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in NSW. The position includes four weeks annual leave and one-week conference leave. Applications should include curriculum vitae, a letter stating the reasons for seeking the internship, and the name and contact details of two-three referees. Above all else, however, we value someone who is a team player; committed to our patients and is keen to be a part of our specialist team.

The Opportunity:
NSVSC is looking for enthusiastic Veterinarians with at least one year of experience to join our Medicine team in 2021 for a one-year internship.

This is a great opportunity for motivated Veterinarians with an interest in pursuing further medicine training or who intend to sit memberships.

The roster is five days each week with 1 in 3 weekends – with days off either side to make up for weekend days worked.

About you:
Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in NSW. The position includes four weeks annual leave and one week conference leave. Vacancy for an experienced part time veterinarian for our small animal practice at Kurrajong in the Blue Mountains. We are a friendly and well equipped 4 vet practice open from 9-6 weekdays and 9-12 Saturdays with no after hours, and we are looking for an experienced vet for 2/12 days a week, as our current part timer has retired. Ideally the days we would like are Monday or Tuesday, then all day Wednesday and Thursday morning, and possibly a bit of holiday cover, but we can be flexible.

Our equipment includes digital X ray with positioning table, ultrasound, dental X ray, iM3 dental cart and vet tome, in house laboratory, monitors and BP monitors, laser and stance analyser and good quality surgical and anaesthetic equipment. Equally importantly we are situated next to a cafe and have an air fryer in the lunch room. Our main client base consists of lovely pet owning clients, who are interested in their pet’s health and well being, so a good client manner is essential. We are very invested in the good mental health of our staff, so although we are busy, we almost always have a calm and cheerful workplace. We book 15 minute appointments, longer if required, to alleviate everyone’s stress. (Vet, owner and pet).

We pay well above award, with a generous CPD allowance and we are a reasonable commute from W and NW Sydney suburbs (against the traffic) but you will need to drive, as we have minimal public transport. We also offer a very local home visit service for vaccination and some routine appointments. We have a regular visiting specialist surgeon for challenging cases.

We would consider a full time new graduate for this position, and provide support and training. Very occasionally (and on Saturday mornings) there might be a sole charge half day (due to holiday or sickness), but we usually have 2-3 vets in the building at all times, for mutual support and to deal with the workload.

Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital has been open in Sydney's Sutherland Shire for over 40 years. It was started by Dr Bill Ilkin and it is now run by his son, Dr Simon Ilkin. We are looking forward to expanding our growing surgery and hope that you would like to be a part of it too. We are open from 7am till 8pm Monday to Friday and 7am-7pm Saturday and Sunday to ensure the highest quality care for our patients as well as consistency and reliability for our customers. Our veterinarians do one weekend in four and are always on with experienced and supportive veterinarians. There are no afterhours involved.

We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian with a big heart and even bigger smile. We encourage continuing education and are a nurturing and supportive clinic. We have a variety of vets who are keen on different aspects of surgery and medicine life. We have a behaviourist and an internal medicine consultant who comes in once a week for our more complicated cases. We do a lot of orthopaedic procedures, chemotherapy, acupuncture, ultrasonography and wildlife care.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated ECC Veterinarian to ideally work a regular 7 day on 7 day off fortnightly WSVES roster in our busy emergency hospital in Regentville, NSW.

Being the WSVES Veterinarian, you will at times be required to work sole charge with the assistance of 2 Experienced ECC Veterinary Nurses. You will be responsible for triaging a wide range of cases from trauma to complex medical cases and will be required to perform emergency surgeries, diagnostics, formulate treatment plans and monitor critical hospital patients.
