DRUMMOYNE, INNER WEST SYDNEY - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Position

Drummoyne Veterinary Hospital is a rapidly growing practice in Sydney's Inner West. We have great clients and our hospital is bright, clean and spacious. Our nurses are competent, we have dedicated receptionists and we try to have plenty of time to focus on our clients and patients.

Currently we are a two-vets-per-day practice open 6 days a week, but we are getting too busy so we need another part-time or full-time vet. No Sunday work is required. Please note this is a permanent position and your contribution will help the practice continue to grow.

Ideally you would be able to bring new skills (or a concrete plan and desire to learn new skills) to our current excellent general medicine, surgery and dentistry competencies. You need to demonstrate enough experience to be able to work sole-charge for a couple of hours at the beginning or end of each day. In addition, an interest in basic orthopaedics, dentistry, exotics, acupuncture, AQIS accreditation and/or other skills is desirable.

We have excellent anaesthetic machines, GA monitoring, surgery, digital radiography, iM3 dentistry and dental radiology, and Idexx laboratory equipment - and those very competent and cheery nurses mentioned above. We have a part-time vet who does most of our behaviour consultations so if you're interested you could do more, but if you're not interested, we have back-up for you.

You: Experienced, team player, focused on excellence in client service and patient care, enthusiasm and capacity to develop new services within the business and stick around and get to know our team and our clients.

Us: Happy team, excellent clients, lovely spacious premises, all-round great place to work!

COLLAROY PLATEAU, NORTHERN BEACHES - PART TIME OR CASUAL SMALL ANIMAL New Position

My name is Butternut. I have two main hoomans. They don’t feed me enough and have got me on this ridiculous thing called a ‘diet’. I don’t really care what their names are, but I’m pretty sure they refer to themselves as Caroline and Lewis. I’m not sure how I feel about Lewis and his salad-eating ways, but Caroline rescued me, so I have to pretend to like her. These days their level of neglect for me has reached new heights; I meow and scratch at their legs, but they keep telling me “not now Butternut, we’re too busy”. A number of the hoomans also have tummies that are expanding at an alarmingly rapid rate. Apparently, they have some sort of excuse called pregnancy, not that anyone accepts it when I try to use that line to get more Greenies. So, I am demanding a new hooman to make sure everyone has enough time to scratch my chin.

The hospital is filled with all sorts of things I like to sprinkle my fur on and chew. I’ve heard them called things like a digital x-ray machine, iM3 dental machine with a Vet-tome and dental radiology, GE ultrasound machine, orthopaedic kits, cautery, and suction. Caroline, Lewis, and the so-called ‘practice manager’ Eloise (what she manages that I don’t is beyond me) are constantly going on about personal & professional development with lots of in-house training days, plus sessions on mental health & work life balance. I only care about stealing bits of food from these training sessions and sitting on as many laps as possible.

My business is an independent small animal hospital with four core values – being compassionate, confident, contemporary, and community-minded – and fitting in with the other hoomans is the most important characteristic. If you are experienced at this whole vet thing and can ensure I get fed, then I might want to meet you. We are looking for a new hooman to start in October on a part time or casual basis (2 weekdays + 1 Saturday/month) with no on-call work, and anticipate that it will be a long term position, unless you try feed me that Metabolic nonsense.

You can email your application to Caroline at caroline@collaroyplateauvet.com and stalk us via our website (www.collaroyplateauvet.com), , and . Let’s face it though, you’ll just be absorbed by all the photos of me. Two hours will fly by without you even noticing.

Now, where are those liver treats you promised?

NEWPORT AND AVALON, SYDNEY NORTHERN BEACHES - PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Position

VETS DESERVE BETTER! JOIN A FAMILY BUSINESS THAT REWARDS HARD WORKING, DEDICATED VETS....

PERMANENT PART-TIME POSITION - Sydney Animal Hospitals Newport and Avalon Vet

Sydney Animal Hospitals, Sydney's largest, non-corporate, family owned practice group, is looking for a permanent part time or casual vet to join our team across 2 hospitals on the Northern Beaches working an average of approximately 30 hours per week.

Our rapidly growing practices in Newport and Avalon on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney need a new team member. We are looking for a compassionate, experienced, enthusiastic Veterinarian (minimum 3 years’ experience) with good communication skills, empathy, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a great team at our Newport and Avalon Hospitals.

At Sydney Animal Hospitals we strive to offer both exceptional patient care and great customer service as well as provide a safe, friendly, fun and rewarding working environment for all of our team. We have 6 state of the art hospitals with over 120 employees and one of the largest client bases in Sydney.

This is what our clients have to say about us:

"I can highly recommend this vet! The staff are so nice, professional and knowledgeable. When we brought in our little dog to get de-sexed, they took such good care of him. We had to go back several times for a little check up on the wound and later to get the stitches removed. All the front desk ladies I met are so polite and outstanding at their job. They could all answer any of the questions I asked them and knew exactly what was happening with my dog without even having to look up his file on the computer. Similar, the two vets I talked to were both highly qualified and knowledgeable. At this place, I could really feel that the people working here truly love their job and my dog's health and happiness was their top priority"

"Dr. Ben and the team at Sydney Animal Hospital, Newport, were amazing. My family and I brought in our beloved dog Pixie, who needed a great deal of dental work. The staff at the Sydney Animal Hospital were extremely friendly and passionate about taking good quality care of Pixie. They kept us completely up to date before, during, and after her operation and decided to hold her overnight with no added charge, which reflects how committed the staff was at ensuring that Pixie's well-being, health, and happiness came first. Overall, I felt very comfortable leaving Pixie in their care. A month later, Pixie is back to her usual self and is still enjoying her favourite foods, even with no teeth standing. Pixie highly recommends Sydney Animal Hospital."

This is what our vets have to say about us:

"I would like to thank you both, and the entire staff, for everything that you have done for me over the last two and a half years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working for Sydney Animal Hospitals and feel very fortunate to have been able to work alongside such a great team. I would particularly like to thank you, Ben, for all the support and guidance you have offered me; you are an extremely talented veterinarian whose skills I respect and look up to. I have loved my time working in the Northern Beaches, together with all the clients and their pets that I have had the privilege to help. While I am obviously excited about the new challenges ahead, Sydney Animal Hospitals is a unique team, whom I will miss enormously. I wish you all every success; should there be a position available in the future, I would love to work with the team again."

GLEBE, INNER WESTERN SYDNEY - PART TIME EXOTICS / SMALL ANIMAL New Position

At The Wild Vet, we're looking to expand our team!

Our Small Animal and Exotics Veterinary Hospital opened in February 2020, and are looking for a new part-time vet to join our team.

Located in Glebe NSW, we’re looking for an experienced veterinarian with a friendly, easy-going attitude. The ideal candidate will be competent in small animal medicine and surgery, and will also (ideally) have some exotics and wildlife experience (or at least the willingness to learn!). No after-hours, but the role will involve some sole-charge shifts.

We provide a high standard of care to both small animals and exotics/wildlife, and focus on quality over quantity when it comes to patients. We treat clients and their pets like family members, and are looking for a new vet who will do the same. Our amazing nurses help by obtaining histories, billing consultations, drawing up medications, and phoning to check up on patients - so you can focus on ensuring your patients receive the best care possible!

Our beautiful clinic is fully equipped with all the essential toys - ultrasound, DR radiography, iM3 dental machine, dental radiography, in-house haematology, & biochemistry, and much more. We have 3 consultation rooms, and will eventually have 5 full-time vets and 10 nurses, so we would love to find the right person to join our rapidly growing team!

We're looking for a vet for 2-3 days per week initially, and one or two weekends per month. Transitioning to a full-time role is also possible in the future. Renumeration based on experience.
