The London Cat Clinic  is continuing its exceptional growth and we are now looking for experienced night clinicians with an interest in feline-only medicine to enable, strengthen and expand our newly launched 24hr emergency service.

Who are we?

Our clinic is very definitely independent, purpose-built and Gold Standard. We celebrated our 4th birthday in May 2021 and have nearly 4000 registered patients which brings an interesting and varied caseload, being a mixture of first opinion work, and a rapidly increasing number of challenging second opinions and referral cases. As our patients are our priority, we wanted to continue the very high quality of the care we deliver during the day into the nights and out-of-hours and do so all under one roof. This is why we, as a team, made the decision to go against the trend and provide our own out-of-hours and are excited for you to join us on our journey.

We want to move our overnight offering to the next level by recruiting passionate clinicians who have feline medicine and emergency medicine as their passions and who will complement and enhance our services whilst embracing the ethos of our care and clinical excellence.

The provision of a fully in-house independent 24hr feline-only emergency and in-patient service is unique in the United Kingdom and you will become part of something challenging and rewarding.

Who are you?

The colleagues we are looking for would have excellent clinical skills that are matched by a commitment to building trusted relationships with our team members as well as our clients.   One thing that four years in practice and a pandemic has shown us is that the team that supports each other not only survives but thrives so this mindset is an essential requirement. You must love cats, be passionate about what you do and will treat our patients, team members and owners with the same care and attention you would like to be treated.

We value all our team members equally and a core value is that the ‘whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. We expect you to feel the same.

Ideally, you would be at least 3 years post-qualification with experience in ECC and a keen interest in in feline medicine. The position is medicine and in-patient management heavy but as the position is ‘sole-charge’, your surgery skills should allow you to comfortably perform non-routine emergency procedures, such as c-sections, exploratory GI surgery, chest drain placement etc. If you have experience with an ultrasound probe and know your way around a cat’s abdomen, this would be great, but this isn’t essential, and training can be provided. If you are studying towards a certificate or post-graduate qualification, the Clinic’s caseload will enhance any study or certification theory with practical exposure.

What we have and what we offer

Every advertisement requires that we should tell you we have all the toys. If your wish list includes a CT and MRI, well, we don’t, but if it includes everything other than those two, we most likely do. You can take a tour of the practice here: We are well situated in Bermondsey with excellent transport links being close to London Bridge and the Jubilee Line.

We currently envisage a rota of 7 days on / 7 days off, but we are flexible to hear alternative suggestions if there is something that works better for you and is possible with the team we have and we are already making changes to our shifts to recognise the need for work-life balance.

Salary is based on experience and will recognise the specific requirements of this role, but is likely to be in the range of £55k to c. £65k DOE and is negotiable. We also offer a discretionary performance bonus and really good benefits including enhanced CPD, private health insurance, RCVS membership and in-clinic discounts for pets.

We are a Tier 2 Visa A-rated sponsor and will definitely consider a sponsorship package for the right candidate with an immediately RCVS registrable qualification.

If you are interested in joining the team or would like to know more about being part of a real growth story in a market-leading clinic, please call me at the clinic for an informal confidential chat. If you would like to apply please send a covering letter and CV to facebook

Collins Veterinary Clinic is situated in the South West of Ireland in the towns of Skibbereen & Bantry. This picturesque area in West Cork boasts some of the best beaches in Ireland and is a hugely popular tourist destination. For the past 20 years Collins Veterinary has been servicing this community as a mixed practice with one facility near Skibbereen and a small animal clinic in Bantry.

The successful candidate would want to be proficient in all the routine works associated with large animal practice during a busy springtime, and also small animal clinics and surgeries. Training can be provided for an enthusiastic candidate.
