ESSEX - BASILDON - SMALL ANIMAL PRACTICE New Position

Veterinary Surgeon required for busy, non corporate small animal clinic in South East England

We need a new full time vet ASAP to complete our friendly and forward thinking 8 vet team. We are based in Basildon, in Essex, 35 minutes by train from central London. Previous vets have commuted daily from London. However, OOH duties would require staying in duty room provided by the surgery.

We have a recently refurbished, very well equipped and spacious clinic and a lovely band of qualified nurses. Case continuity expected and encouraged in a supportive atmosphere. High standards of both clinical and client care expected. We offer a 4 day basic working week with 1 in every Saturday morning and roughly 1 in 7 weekends, with a generous OOH bonus paid. A resident on call nurse is always available to assist with emergency calls and care for in patients. We have all the usual toys including digital radiography, video endoscopes, ultrasound etc plus visiting specialists in orthopaedics, cardiology and physiotherapy. 5 weeks holiday. CPD including post graduate qualifications encouraged. Salary negotiable but as a guide one year qualified vet would be paid £37,000 plus bonus. Bonus obviously is performance related and varies but an average range of £7,000-£14,000+ is regularly achieved.

Experience preferred but new graduates considered. Starting salary for new graduate would be £32,000 with bonuses as above. Full support provided for all work incl OOH by experienced members of team.

ESSEX - SMALL ANIMAL LOCUM New Position

3 vet small animal clinic in Essex requires an experienced locum from 1st May for a negotiable period (long term). Locum must be at least 4 years qualified. To be based at main Tier 3 hospital site in Buckhurst Hills, Essex, but also to cover odd days at two branch sites.

One in three weekends, on call up to 6pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday when working a weekend.
On call up to 11pm one night during the week. "Vets Now" do our overnight cover.
Guaranteed minimum 20 days per month.

We are based near Epping Forest, Central Line tube, 40 minutes from Central London.

SE LONDON / KENT - LOCUM & PERMANENT VACANCY

Aspen Vet Surgery is a 100% SA practice on SE London/Kent borders. We are a modern practice & RCVS Accredited.

We have 2 vets working in our Upper Abbey Wood Surgery, and we are expanding with the opening of our new surgery in Sidcup, Kent DA14 4NZ March/April 2012.

We require a locum veterinary surgeon with a view to offer permanent employment if suitable so that we can run our 2 fully equipped surgeries on a rota. Initially you will work at our Abbey Wood surgery to obtain experience in how we like to do things. Thereafter, on to a rota with the 2 sites.

You will have excellent communication & interpersonal skills, be adaptable to our needs and policies, and be competent at basic surgery and medicine, be able to construct a treatment plan and be able to complete clinical and financial client records accurately, be well mannered and presentable, therefore a few years experience would be desirable.

There are no OOH, Vets Now are appointed. Basic accommodation is offered for short term locums. You will be available Mon-Fri 8am-7pm and Saturdays 8am-2pm on rota.

Locum Rate £180/full day as a minimum and dependent on experience. Permanent position salary dependent on experience.
