All Creatures Veterinary Surgery Battersea, London (posted 10th April) RVN - Maternity Leave cover

RVN vacancy

All Creatures Veterinary Surgery - SW11 5QL London

We are looking for a RVN to cover maternity leave from middle of July 2024 onwards. It is currently a 6-month availability but with the potential to stay longer if the staff member does not return to work after the maternity leave ends.

We are advertising early to have time to arrange interviews which means you can meet the team and we can find the right candidate for the position.

Shifts are Monday – Friday 9am – 6pm with one hour lunch break unpaid. If you are wanting less than 40 hours per week, please let us know what hours you are interested in, we can be flexible.

The candidate will be expected to work one Saturday shift a month 9am-1.30pm. Working Saturday morning, it can be taken as time in lieu or extra pay.

The role is mainly surgery/medical nursing with some nurse consultations.

Ideal candidate will be a UK RVN, but we will consider other qualified veterinary nurses if they have the intention of sitting their OSCEs to become registered.

Ideal candidate would be one-year qualified, paid work experience and this would have a salary of £30,000 for 40 hours per week. If you are newly qualified starting salary would be lower depending on experience. Depending on length of experience, greater than one year, we may be able to offer higher than £30,000.

10 days annual leave if staying for 6 months only, plus bank holidays (pro rata) and CPD allowance. If staying longer than 6 months annual leave is 20 days per year.

About us

We are a small animal, independent practice in SW London. We are a hard-working and friendly team consisting of three vets and three RVNs (you would be covering the third RVN), one SQP and three VCAs nurse/support staff. Fully equipped practice with-in house MiLab blood machines, IV fluid pumps, digital radiographs, dental radiographs and ultrasound. We do see some exotics (rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets) but experience in this area is not essential.

Our usual day

One vet consults all day and the other does a mixture of consults and surgery. We have three to four procedures/surgeries booked each day. Two RVNs look after the surgery and medical patients, one support staff on reception and one support staff in the office answering phone calls/dealing with emails.
