We offer feline referral services for internal medicine and we also offer ophthalmology referral services.

We are looking for a caring, cat crazy, highly skilled and driven nurse who is passionate about delivering excellent standards of care to their patients. Our ideal candidate will be:

You will be expected to deliver excellent nursing care to complex internal medical cases. Our 24 hour emergency service provides continued care for our ECC caseload and as such, we have the facilities to perform blood transfusions and deliver intensive critical care nursing.

No sole charge, you will be working alongside one of our vets.

Shifts

Shifts: 7:30pm – 8:30am  (Monday- Friday) 5:30pm - 8:30am (Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays)
Pattern: 4 days on/ 8 days off, however we are flexible and if there is a shift pattern that you feel would work better for the service and the team we are happy to hear it!

Pay Range: £ 28,000 - £ 36,000 per year GBP

This full-time role consists of a rolling rota, where the nurses rotate around a variety of areas to include:

Our surgical caseload ranges from routine neuters and COHATs to orthopaedic, soft tissue, endoscopy, ultrasonography and referral ophthalmology. We launched our 24 hour emergency service to further expand our ECC caseload and as such, we have the facilities to perform blood transfusions and deliver intensive critical care nursing.

In terms of anaesthesia and theatre work, you will be expected to monitor anaesthesia confidently using state of the art equipment, often to patients with complex medical conditions.

We are very proud of our nurse consultations and you will be required to be passionate about engaging clients, building rapport and discussing a range of topics including preventative healthcare, behaviour, and nutrition (in house training is provided)

Previous experience is a bonus, but rest assured, you will be inducted and given full training.

Salary: 24000 - 34000 pa

Shift pattern: Rolling rota of 5 days per week, with a week spent on each shift of inpatient care/ nurse consultations, anaesthesia and surgery (including ophthalmology referral), inpatient care and surgical recoveries. Each shift is 8-9 hours long.

Rossdales Equine Hospital is seeking veterinary nurses to join the team working in our equine Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for the 2022 foal season, from mid-January to mid-July 2022. The unit provides high level intensive care to sick, newborn foals, including mechanical ventilation, total parenteral nutrition and cardiovascular support. Seasonal nurses will work shifts to enable us to provide 24-hour nursing care.

Successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to nursing in our adult intensive care unit and assist with adult emergency admissions.

Experience of either small animal or general equine nursing is essential and, although desirable, previous experience of neonatal nursing is not required. Applicants for this position should hold a qualification in veterinary nursing and be registered with the RCVS. Applicants that hold a nursing qualification gained outside the UK should be able to register with the RCVS.

Role overview – To provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill foals hospitalised in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Seasonal foal nurses will also be expected to provide more general nursing care and intensive care for adult horses when required.

The main aspects of this role include (but are not limited to):

Seasonal nurses rotate between evening and night shifts on a weekly basis with occasional day shifts. 
Weekday shifts: Day 7am – 3.30pm, Evening 3pm – 11.30pm, Night 11pm – 7.30am with a one-hour unpaid break each shift.
At weekends seasonal nurses work either the day (7am – 7pm) or night shift (7pm – 7am). 
Other hours may be required in accordance with the business needs.
In the event of unplanned absence or leave for single isolated days, seasonal foal nurses can swap relevant shifts in order to ensure cover.

Fethard Equine Hospital based in Tipperary in southern Ireland is looking for 2 veterinary Nurses to join our amazing team.

The successful applicant will join our current team of 6 veterinary nurses, 4 board-certified surgeons, 1 specialist medicine clinician, 8 veterinary interns, as well as a large support team. We are one of Irelands busiest Equine Hospitals with a modern, purpose-built building with all modern diagnostics equipment including an in-house CT, standing Hallmarq MRI along with a large on-site laboratory. FEH have had some of the most famous horses come through our doors and we pride ourselves in the care we give every animal.

Our nurses have rotating roles within the hospital through surgery, medicine, in-patient, and out-patient care. The position entails a 40-hour week, 1-night on-call per week, and 1-weekend on-call in 6. You will receive time in-lieu for weekends and bank holidays worked + 20 days annual leave. We offer a competitive salary (€25-35K per anum dependent on experience)+ rental allowance (5k annually), VCI fees paid, and CPD opportunities. We also have an in-house chef that makes lunch Free of charge. Full in-house training will be provided.
