Veterinary Nurse - Permanent or fixed term contract
Veterinary nurse required to join a 4 Vet mixed practice in Exeter, Devon.
Situated in idyllic surroundings, close to Dartmoor National Park, we boast a purpose built equine surgical and medical unit. The practice split is 1/3 equine, 1/3 small and 1/3 large animal but main role will involve small animal and equines although we do also treat the odd parrot and Alpaca as well.
Previous equine nursing is not essential but you must be confident in handling horses and have a basic knowledge of horse management. Preferable you have had small animal nurse training or experience.
CPD is offered and encouraged and there is also potential for further training such as EVN or alike.
Weekends and out of hours: You are provided with a pager and are NOT required to stay at the practice overnight on your duty nights.
You receive a long weekend the following your weekend on call.
There are NO out of hours telephone duties.
Currently no accommodation is provided with this role but for the right person arrangements could be made.
RVN, QVN or Experienced only considered
Full time = 39.5 hours per week.
20 days + U.K. bank holidays
1:4/1:3 weekend rota. Saturday 8.30-12.30 then on call for remainder of the weekend
1:4 to week night rota, although usually much less than this.
Standard week day: 8.30 – 5pm 1 hour lunch break with 1-2 night per week until 7pm

New Era Veterinary Hospital, Jersey (posted 2nd February)
We are looking for Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses. Ideally 2. This would be a full time post in the idyllic island of Jersey. You would take part in a 10 week rota working a 38hr week, along with 13 other qualified and trainee nurses. Occasional night work is involved. Starting as soon as possible.
The hospital is tier 3 listed and provides an exceptionally high level of veterinary practice due to the difficulty to refer. TPLO's, THR's and complicated fractures and soft tissue surgery is common place.
Jersey is beautiful Island with plenty of water based activities, surfing, scuba diving, fishing, boating, dolphin watching. And lovely beaches to chill out on or the rugged north coast for hiking. Jersey also has a vibrant nightlife and social scene.
