Do you want to work with a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals who can support you through the emotional and technical challenges of being a vet, as well as younger vets and nurses full of boundless enthusiasm you can share the journey with?

If you think this sounds like the ideal workplace, then we would love to hear from you.

Peninsula Vet Care is a group of five general practice clinics plus a 24-hour emergency and referral hospital located on the Mornington Peninsula. Through increasing demand, we are expanding our Rosebud Hospital team and would like to hear from you.

I was provided with an immense amount of support from the moment I started with gradual steps to working on my own- all determined by what pace I felt comfortable going at. The continuing education has been a big part of the program ranging from wet pracs, ultrasound tutorials, case studies and more. I would highly recommend this program to anyone- not just those interested in emergency but also those keen at developing and learning gold standard of care." Dr Charlotte Wells – 2020

RINGWOOD, EASTERN MELBOURNE - FULL TIME SMALL ANIMAL/EMERGENCY New Position

Ringwood Vet hospital

Ringwood is one of the fastest-growing suburbs in Eastern Melbourne and Ringwood Vet Hospital is rocking this joint!

A 24/7 veterinary hospital that is not a specialist centre and which sees any patient any time of the day, is quite a new concept and many people were critical of us . Two years now down the track and RVH is buzzing and none of the clinics around us closed their doors. We are looking for a veterinarian with that type of chutzpah. We are a bunch of vets with tenacity and cheek and our new vet will need a bit of that as well to feel at home.

We operate as a “normal” vet clinic by day and see small animal emergency cases at night time. Many people, however, see us as the equivalent of a human hospital and we are seeing more and more emergency cases by day as well. We do see the “zebras in Caulfield”!

Now we are looking for an experienced veterinarian to help us go to the next level, preferably with a membership in small animal internal medicine/imaging or surgery, or on the way to it. We envision someone who can give second opinions on cases and who can create treatment plans for patients. It will be handy if you do not mind dipping your fingers in blood every now and again.

I can go on listing our equipment but it suffices to say we do have a lot and we have a budget to get more. Check out our Facebook page and Website.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We offer significantly above market rate remuneration for the right candidate ($100-$150k), depending on experience) plus bonuses.

Flexibility with working hours is required with plenty of time off.

For the right candidate we also offer sponsorship and a Visa for you and your dependents, and even a relocation allowance, if applicable.

If you are ready to launch your career in a new direction, this is the job for you!

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to recruitment@vetsinc.com.au

DANDENONG, SE MELBOURNE - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL, ASSOCIATE OR LEAD New Graduates welcome

Experienced Veterinarian Required – Associate or Lead Vet Role, Full or Part Time, 3 vet hospital, SE Melbourne

Here is your next role, with everything you are seeking, plus more. You can stop the job hunt now and be positive you are making the right choice. Read on, and you will understand why I am making such a bold claim.

Our role will tick the boxes of WHY you became a vet in the first place. It is focussed on three things. Firstly, and centrally, it is being an advocate and caring for the pets that visit us. Look after those pets as best you are able, be their voice, truly care about them, simple. Secondly, to allow you to be an effective pet advocate, we focus on great client engagement. Working with the client as a key party, keeping them involved and enthusiastic, communicating well. Our clients are amazing, and their pets are valued family members. Thirdly and finally, neither pet advocacy or client engagement can happen without the third pillar, the team you work with. A caring, cohesive and supportive team, that operates more like a family. A team that is also focussed on these same three values, and know that we do our best work together as a whole, not individually. A team we enjoy coming to work each day to see.

We want you to do what you do best - be a great vet and inspire those around you. You will be working in a hospital with great leadership and a happy culture, and importantly a great work:life balance with shared weekends and no after-hours. If you prefer part-time we can accommodate that too.

We see an interesting case load, and utilise visiting surgical and ultrasound/medical specialists to provide their services in-house when required, allowing us a satisfying, complete case workup. We support special interests and continuing education, and all our vets receive training on the non-clinical ‘softer skills’ which can make a huge difference to happiness, job satisfaction, time management, communication, resilience, as well as so many other positives.

We use a lot of modern technology in our client communication, education, and in-house patient care, including Smartflow for surgical and inpatients, and an integrated digital S8 book. We are working on improving our environmental footprint, and have almost transitioned now to being paper-free, as well as improving our waste management.

Please click here to see photos! photos

This role requires experience, anywhere from a few years to …well, a few more! Where needed, we will provide support and mentorship, and a developmental pathway to grow you into the vet you want to become. If you already have a wealth of experience, you can step into a leadership role within our team. There may also be an option for equity down the track for the right applicant.

Salary will be generous, and negotiable based on the experience and skills you bring to the role.

CARE is a busy, well-equipped, privately-owned, multi-specialist veterinary hospital located in Collingwood, on the fringe of Melbourne’s inner-CBD. It maintains a strong emphasis on the standard of patient and client care and is distinguished by the cooperative and complimentary involvement of specialist emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, and diagnostic imaging services.  The working environment is friendly and constructive, and the caseload moderated to allow emphasis on the quality, rather than the quantity, of patient care.

Existing diagnostic imaging facilities include digital radiography, Phillips Affinity 50G ultrasound, Siemens Somatom 16-slice CT and Phillips BV29 mobile C-arm fluoroscopy with digital subtraction angiography. Beyond this, there is a strong commitment to the continued expansion and advancement of on-site imaging facilities, with PACS system and digital radiography upgrades in process and future plans for high-field MRI installation.

The position

An opportunity exists for a specialist in diagnostic imaging who enjoys and values integration and positive interaction with specialists in other clinical fields with the intention of optimising patient management. This clinical exposure has the potential to be interesting and rewarding, and the direct involvement of the diagnostic imaging specialist in clinical problem solving is well established, welcomed, and well respected among existing staff of the hospital.

The position involves performing and providing reports for diagnostic ultrasound examinations, the ad hoc provision of diagnostic imaging advice and interpretation to facilitate case management within the hospital, responding to email enquiries from bona fide referring veterinarians for assessment of diagnostic images and, when possible, the provision of written reports for CT studies performed within the hospital.

Further to the clinical aspects of the role, the diagnostic imaging specialist is central in the provision of advice on the purchase and upgrade of diagnostic imaging equipment and the ongoing expansion of existing imaging services at CARE. Active involvement in the provision of staff continuing education and contribution to the maintenance of diagnostic imaging protocols would be expected.

The working hours of the position are flexible and negotiable, being either part or full time depending on the availability of the successful applicant, and do not typically involve after-hours work.  An attractive remuneration package would be negotiated, including four weeks’ annual leave and one week of study leave annually (full time pro-rata). Relocation assistance is available for successful interstate or international candidates.
