COLLINGWOOD, INNER NORTH EAST MELBOURNE - FULL OR PART TIME SPECIALIST IN RADIOLOGY

Specialist in Veterinary Radiology

The Centre for Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) is seeking a registered specialist in veterinary radiology to join our friendly team.

About CARE

CARE is a busy, well-equipped, privately-owned, multi-specialist veterinary hospital located in Collingwood, on the fringe of Melbourne’s inner-CBD. It maintains a strong emphasis on the standard of patient and client care and is distinguished by the cooperative and complimentary involvement of specialist emergency and critical care, surgery, internal medicine, neurology, and diagnostic imaging services.  The working environment is friendly and constructive, and the caseload moderated to allow emphasis on the quality, rather than the quantity, of patient care.

Existing diagnostic imaging facilities include digital radiography, Phillips Affinity 50G ultrasound, Siemens Somatom 16-slice CT and Phillips BV29 mobile C-arm fluoroscopy with digital subtraction angiography. Beyond this, there is a strong commitment to the continued expansion and advancement of on-site imaging facilities, with PACS system and digital radiography upgrades in process and future plans for high-field MRI installation.

The position

An opportunity exists for a specialist in diagnostic imaging who enjoys and values integration and positive interaction with specialists in other clinical fields with the intention of optimising patient management. This clinical exposure has the potential to be interesting and rewarding, and the direct involvement of the diagnostic imaging specialist in clinical problem solving is well established, welcomed, and well respected among existing staff of the hospital.

The position involves performing and providing reports for diagnostic ultrasound examinations, the ad hoc provision of diagnostic imaging advice and interpretation to facilitate case management within the hospital, responding to email enquiries from bona fide referring veterinarians for assessment of diagnostic images and, when possible, the provision of written reports for CT studies performed within the hospital.

Further to the clinical aspects of the role, the diagnostic imaging specialist is central in the provision of advice on the purchase and upgrade of diagnostic imaging equipment and the ongoing expansion of existing imaging services at CARE. Active involvement in the provision of staff continuing education and contribution to the maintenance of diagnostic imaging protocols would be expected.

The working hours of the position are flexible and negotiable, being either part or full time depending on the availability of the successful applicant, and do not typically involve after-hours work.  An attractive remuneration package would be negotiated, including four weeks’ annual leave and one week of study leave annually (full time pro-rata). Relocation assistance is available for successful interstate or international candidates.

How to apply

Applications, including letter of intent and CV, or any enquiries, should be directed to Ms Kelley Johnson at kjohnson@carevet.com.au

RINGWOOD, MELBOURNE EAST - FULL TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Position

Is your natural state equivalent to that of Lithium?
If it is, we would love to get to know you as part of our team

We operate as a normal day clinic with a large emergency component that runs 24/7. This makes us a “true hospital.”

The vets and nurses in this team strive to improve ourselves and our services to our clients and patients, non-stop. We see any critique as an opportunity to step up and we are not scared to embrace candour. In this workplace there are no secrets! I must admit we don't sit in a circle meditating over lunch time, but fat Fridays are a real thing here!  We encourage stress awareness and will give you the tools to help yourself and we will encourage stress breaks if needed. Just to recharge those lithiums!

Our equipment is what you would expect to find in a specialist centre. We have a fully equipped lab, a CT, an endoscope tower, double theatre, an amazing x-ray machine, and everything else. We don’t guess a diagnosis and pride ourselves that most cases will have a diagnosis within 24 hours.

Our ideal teammate will be a bundle of unrestrained energy. Someone that bounces off the ceiling, zing zang's from wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, from one room to another and down the hall. Boom-boom-boom! The rest of your teammates usually only work 3-4 days per week so are well rested to mirror this. We encourage further study and the development of special interests.

We would like you to be flexible with shifts spanning between emergency and day clinic work. You don’t need to be a toastmaster, but gee, we would like you to be a clear communicator.

We offer above award remuneration and leave, study leave, etc. - all things you would expect as being a part of a larger clinic. For the right candidate we also offer sponsorship and a Visa for you and your dependents, and even a relocation allowance, if applicable.

Please send your resumes to admin@vetsinc.com.au
