MID-NORTH COAST - WAUCHOPE - FULL OR PART TIME MIXED PRACTICE

Full or Part Time Veterinarian, Wauchope NSW

We are an independent family owned mixed practice in the best part of Australia!

We are looking for a vet with a good sense of humour, who would enjoy being part of a stable and experienced team, practicing and developing great standards of care and customer service. We need someone who wants to be part of a progressive mixed practice, striving to improve and develop ourselves and the lives of our clients, through their work.

Wauchope Vets are looking for a great Vet to join our team. The workload is 85% small animals with about 15% large animal work and with plenty of scope to pursue areas of interest. The small animal workload is very broad. Several of our previous employees have gone onto further studies and we are very proud that none have left the profession!

We have recently renovated and refurbished our practice (completed by end of January 2017) to improve our facilities, work flow and provide a better clinical and work environment for us all.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We are looking for a motivated Vet to complement our team. A Veterinary degree registrable in NSW is essential, as well as a great sense of humour, a confident and positive attitude and excellent communication skills. We expect you to want to make a difference, to learn and improve yourself, as well as participate and contribute in our meetings, training and development. You must be a team player.

Our large animal component is mainly cattle, with several dairies in our area and small hobby farms, with mostly small ruminants. We no longer do any equine work, after entering into agreement with one of our previous associates, who now does that full time. An interest or previous experience in cattle work would be a great advantage.

We have an after-hours and weekend sharing arrangement with two neighbouring practices, to help us enjoy life in this fantastic part of the world. We have a very capable and well-trained nursing team, as well as experienced Vets and a full-time practice manager available to support, develop and help you enjoy our profession. Wages will be above AVA award and in line with experience and the skills you bring along. CPD is actively supported and encouraged and some provided in-house.

Wauchope is located in an ideal spot, catering for all outdoor interests and pursuits, with great beaches, hinterland, forests, waterways, national parks and the best weather in Australia (CSIRO research!) to make the most of it all. Wauchope is 20 minutes west of Port Macquarie, and the whole area is growing, with great facilities, hospitals, schools and universities. Wauchope is 4 hours north of Sydney, 6 hours south of Brisbane, with daily flights and trains to both cities.

We also have two on-site horse stables, with plans for an equine crush in the near future. The hospital is well equipped with all the toys you would expect from a top-quality veterinary hospital, including ultrasound, digital radiography, full Idexx lab, IM3 dental machine, dental radiography, vet-tome, orthopaedic equipment, electrosurgical unit, pulse oximeter, ETCO2, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, endoscopy, tonometry, power float, patient warming systems- what more could you want!

We are looking for a keen, team-oriented veterinarian, who wants to work in a professional, supportive and friendly practice. Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years experience, but capable new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Special interests in surgery and/or equine medicine would be highly regarded (but are not essential). Baking and netball skills are also very favourable!

For the athletically inclined, there are local teams for nearly every sport, and the Cocoparra National Park is just around the corner!

To apply for this position, or for further information, please contact Dr. Kim Martel, the practice owner/manager, by phone or email. We are also happy to put you in touch with any of the associate veterinarians (past and present!), if you’d like to hear of their experiences at this practice.

NORTH GOULBURN, SOUTHERN TABLELANDS - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Do you want your patients and clients to feel this way after they see you?

“When I now take Gracie to see the vet she pulls on the lead to get inside.“

“Thank you for the time you took with us. We felt listened to, and loved that you worked hard to gain the trust of Bella, and to build a relationship - as opposed to getting us in and out quickly.“

“It’s not every day you find a vet willing to get on the floor with a petrified patient! 10 million thumbs up!“

“Best experience at a vet since moving to Goulburn!”

Luckily, we have a position for an enthusiastic, optimistic, and caring vet to join our team!

Goulburn Vet Clinic is a small animal clinic in regional NSW. A year ago we had 1 vet and 1 nurse, and now our team includes 1 Vet, 3 Nurses, and 2 trainees. Basically, I’m feeling outnumbered!

Most things about the job are negotiable: full time/part time, conference leave, after hours, recent grad/experienced vet, every third Thursday off for full-contact-underwater-basket-weaving practice – you just let us know! What isn’t negotiable is that you have a strong growth mindset.

If you are the type of vet who is always pushing their skills, looks forward to working with your clients, and enjoys lifting up their nursing team then you are who we are looking for.

Now, for lists…

Who we need: We are seeking an enthusiastic new or recent graduate looking for a fun and rewarding entry into the veterinary profession. At DMVS, we pride ourselves in nurturing great new grads into being the best vets.

Why we are looking: We have recently said goodbye to a new grad who gave us close to 3 years of excellent service.

About us: We are a well respected small animal clinic in Dubbo, in central west NSW. We are currently operating as a 5 vet practice, which has grown considerably in recent years, supported by recent clinic renovations. Our vets are well supported with 3 full time certificate IV vet nurses, two full time receptionists, practice manager and a part-time client coordinator (who also holds certificate IV in veterinary nursing).

Incentives: Read on for more detail…

Our patients and case load: We are a 100% small animal clinic, 80% dogs, 15% cats, and the remainder being birds, pocket pets, reptiles and wildlife. Our regional location gives us a great variety of cases from companion animals, working and sporting dogs, and a growing small animal reproduction demand. This keeps our clinic busy all year round with interesting medical and surgical cases, providing all staff with a challenging and fulfilling workload, whether new to the profession or with years of experience. As a new grad in a regional setting, your opportunities and experience will be enormous as you are faced with these cases both during clinic hours and while on call.

Our clinic and equipment: We follow a high standard of practice, with new protocols, procedures, medications and equipment always being welcomed. Our clinic contains all the modern equipment and set up you will require to practice a very high standard of veterinary medicine.
This includes:

Please have a look through the pictures attached of the recently renovated clinic. We also welcome you to visit our website, www.dmvs.com.au.

What you can expect: The key to this practice is the team work and support given to all staff. Like I said before, we want to give you the best start to your career in order for you to become the best vet you can be!

Hours of work and holidays:

About Dubbo: Dubbo is a large regional centre in central west NSW, with a population of over 40 000. It offers all of the convenience of a large centre, with the laid back feel of a country town. There is a large population of young working professionals (doctors, pharmacists, physios, etc etc etc) who are always keen to meet and welcome new people to town. There are many highly regarded primary and secondary schools in Dubbo, and the town hosts a number of regional school sporting and other events. Dubbo is also conveniently accessible to eastern Australian cities, with direct flights of only 1 hour to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle. It’s central location also allows relatively easy exploration of the tourist attractions of central and western NSW.

Applications: This position would suit an enthusiastic and dedicated veterinarian looking for a great kick-start to their veterinary career. If you are interested in applying, please send your CV and a cover letter to Maria (manager@dmvs.com.au).

Testimonials: The truth about a practice’s worth is found in the opinion of the vet leaving, so please contact Hannah (see testimonial and contact details below) for a confidential and honest discussion about this position. Matt will also welcome your enquiries and can give a new graduate’s perspective. Click here to see their full feedback.

ECHUCA, VIC/NSW BORDER - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL, PURCHASE OPTION

Our dynamic small animal practice is looking for an enthusiastic Full or Part time Vet to join and (hopefully) buy our team. We are currently a 1.5 vet practice but have been turning potential clients away as we just don’t have enough time to give them the high quality care we give all our clients and pets…especially since one of us has just had a baby and is having important time off to help her grow!

It is important that we have the time to work cases up properly whilst being able to maintain a work/life balance so we don’t go insane and leave the profession.

Does this sound familiar? Have you worked somewhere where it’s “go, go, go” with no thought for you or your client and patient’s welfare? 5-10min consults, towing the company line and pushing products you don’t believe in? That’s just SO not us. We are an independent practice whose vets, experienced, qualified vet nurses and Practice Manager “Minnie” (she’s a tortoiseshell with a positive attitude) really get on and enjoy our jobs.

ABOUT YOU:
The ideal applicant will have 5-10+ years’ experience and is dreaming about owning our practice. They will be passionate about managing cases, continuing education and communicating well with patients, co-workers and clients.

Being a couple of hours from Melbourne, we are generally able to work up interesting cases ourselves (which is very satisfying!) although we can refer if required.

The vet clinic is a purpose-renovated, heritage-listed building with a great feel. We have quite a few fun “toys” including in-house biochemistry, microscopy, blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, capnography, ultrasound, IV infusion pumps and BAIR Hugger.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We pride ourselves on having happy patients who don’t dread coming to the vet – “bribery and corruption” of pets with treats is standard and someone with an interest in behaviour would be preferred. A love of cats is a must – “Minnie” is very discerning!

Located on the mighty Murray River, top class restaurants, paddlesteamers, wineries, horse riding and waterskiing make Echuca a fabulous place to live. We have a great clientele with minimal after hours calls (our clients really are considerate!).

So if you love being a vet – especially if you’re wanting to own your own practice, and need to keep learning and improving like us, please contact:
Dr Rose Parsons – who wants to spend more time with her kids…
