SOUTH COAST - MIXED PRACTICE New Position

Bomaderry Veterinary Hospital has a vacancy for a full time veterinarian. We are a 7-man practice, with definite partnership prospects for the right candidate as one of the partners is retiring in 6mths time.

Bomaderry is located on the sunny South Coast of NSW, on the northern side of the Shoalhaven River, about 2 hours south of Sydney, 20 minutes from pristine Jervis Bay and the surf beaches of Culburra and Shoalhaven Heads. Sounds idyllic doesn't it!

Our practice is currently a Mixed practice seeing approximately 70% small animals and 30% large animals.  We also have a branch clinic at a seaside village that is Small Animals only.  The Shoalhaven area is undergoing rapid growth and the practice is also growing to meet these demands.

We see and treat a truly mixed variety of animals, and no two days are the same. The practice has a long and trusted history of providing services to the local dairy industry, including one of the largest dairies in the state. We also service the largest Alpaca farm in the state. We provide services to a local Zoo and the local Native Animal groups.

We have all of the diagnostic equipment you could want - Fuji D.R. X-ray, full in-house IDEXX and suite, Video Endoscopy, GE Logic P5 small animal ultra-sound, and a Reproscan ultrasound for cattle and horse pregnancy testing, and iM3 Dental equipment.

We are able to provide most medical and surgical services. We offer referral and have good relationships with Sydney Specialists, but find that in many cases our clients want us to do the work. This means that we get to practice high level medicine, including for example Chemotherapy.

The same is true of surgical cases where we are able to perform most Orthopaedic procedures utilizing MMP cruciate repair kit, full SOP plating kits, Ridgestop Patella repair kit etc.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Above award wages are paid for a 38 hour working week.

Continuing Education is strongly encouraged, as it improves morale and enhances the service and services we can provide.

Afterhours is shared equally during the week, and weekends are shared with a neighbouring practice.

Nursing staff are all Cert IV graduates and are long term employees.

We need someone with an interest in true mixed practice work, preferably with some experience.

We are looking for someone with a genuine desire for a long term commitment, and a willingness to take on some practice responsibilities.

Erina

Reference: 4656236

Since graduating from Veterinary Medicine, a couple of years ago, you have been actively honing your skills as a qualified vet. You are now prepared to take your career to the next level, but before launching you are carefully considering what that opportunity should offer. On your list are some of the following: a business that values work - life balance (meaning no on-call), a mentor that supports my learning and professional pursuits, a clinic that is committed to delivering the highest standard of care, experience within the whole breadth of GP practice including advanced surgeries, and an extensive network of colleagues with diverse expertise and skills to call upon.

If we have described your next pursuits, then consider this opportunity with earnest.

Each day will bring something new.

Within Our Erina clinic, you will gain experience and exposure in the fundamentals of small animal GP practice, with additional opportunity to practice with exotics (including birds, aquatics, reptiles and "pocket pets"). Your day to day learnings will cover consultations, diagnostics, standard procedures and checks (dental, vaccinations), surgeries and general preventative medicine across a diverse caseload. In a clinical setting, you will rely on your knowledge and resources to diagnose the condition and consider the best option available.

Our consultations are collaborative, we care about our pets and their families and take time to listen with empathy to their needs and make the appropriate course of action for the betterment of the pet's wellness.

Further to the routine surgeries and procedures, working within the Best Friends and Our Vet environment affords you the unique opportunity to manage a diverse caseload. We prefer to retain the advanced surgeries inhouse by providing access to senior Vets within the network and external specialists to attend and support with the end to end management of the case. This helps our vets see the entire case through, whilst aiding their development.

You will feel a sense of fulfillment as you witness the difference you are making in the welfare of these pets and the impact on their devoted families, the clinical challenges you resolve and seeing yourself progress to a vet who's repeatedly asked for by name.

Success in a small town requires people who want to be involved in the community; all the vets who love it here (and those that have stayed for good) are actively involved in either cricket, surf club, netball, soccer, rugby, mountain biking, surfing, etc, outside of work and that is what we are looking for in new staff.

SOUTH ALBURY, NSW/VIC BORDER - FULL TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Townsend Veterinary Clinic is a new, purpose-built small animal practice based in the beautiful regional centre of Albury, on the border of New South Wales and Victoria.

The practice directors, Shelley and Kim, had a vision for a welcoming, friendly practice that is involved with the local community. We wanted pets and owners to feel comfortable at the clinic, and we wanted the clients to feel well-informed and involved with their pets' treatment. Our little dream has become a reality and we have been warmly embraced by the community, and have been able to practice gold-standard care with the full-support of our fantastic clients.

We are heavily involved with the local community and regularly host community events. Some of the events we have organised so far include dog yoga, twilight cinema, pet photography sessions, information evenings, as well as regular attendance at local markets. We perform significant amounts of rescue and charity work, and we are very proud of our achievements so far since opening our doors in December 2017.

The clinic is well-equipped and spacious, with brand-new advanced equipment including: digital radiography including dental radiography (standard for all dental procedures); ultrasound; advanced anaesthesia monitoring including blood pressure, ECG, and end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring; Tonopen for intraocular pressure measurement; in-house lab with biochemistry, PT/APTT, blood gases and electrolytes; separate sterile surgical theatre with suction, cautery and Bair huggers. We regularly (average once a month) have Dr. Adrian Wallace perform specialist surgeries at our clinic and we have a high orthopaedic case-load. We are after a full-time veterinarian and we are flexible with the roster. Currently we have two full-time vets and one part-time vet. The full-timers each have one full weekday off every week, and work 1 in 4 Saturdays from 9am-1pm. We are seeking a vet with high-standards, who is also flexible and listens to the clients needs. An interest in equine work is a benefit. Our new and large purpose built hospital offers all the equipment and facilities to practice excellent quality veterinary medicine and surgery with friendly and supportive nursing staff. Digital x-ray, ultrasound with colour doppler, pulse oximetry, in-house laboratory and cytology, infusion pumps, oxygen generators and orthopaedic instrumentation are components of our practice. The practice has a busy medical and surgical caseload, mainly small animal (85%) and equine (10%), but does include avian and wildlife work in addition to the expected other species of cattle, sheep and pigs. The building now includes six consulting rooms and three operating theatres.

So, if a rural mixed practice with a wonderfully varied caseload, and strong support staff appeals, then we would welcome your application. There is a strong emphasis on discussion of cases between colleagues at rounds each day, and we are a practice used to supporting new graduates as they embark on their careers. Bi-monthly webinars, practice membership of CVE, and each veterinarian provided with VIN membership gives all colleagues opportunities to continue to enhance their skills and knowledge. We expect veterinarians to embrace new challenges as experience dictates.

Plans of the building and discussion of our practice can be found at our website www.benetookvet.com.au.
