DORRIGO
New Position

Position available for an assistant in a 2 man rural mixed practice in Northern NSW Hinterland.
I am seeking someone keen to develop their skills in all facets of mixed practice, especially cattle and horse medicine and surgery.
Practice case load is approx. 25% beef cattle, 25% dairy cattle, 15% equine, 30% dogs and the odd cat. The surgery is well equipped with most of the usual gear, including ultrasounds, in-house pathology, doppler, pulse ox, x-ray, stabling facilities, etc. Because we are a bit removed from the major cities, we get to do most of the interesting stuff that otherwise gets referred away. The nurses are all qualified to Cert. III level. And very competent.
The main objective of the practice is to do the best work possible and offer our clients excellent value through good service.
There are numerous areas for development that need exploring including embryo transfer, mare artificial breeding, horse dentistry and stuff I have not even thought of!

The ideal applicant would need to enjoy a range of small and large animal work, a quiet drink on a Friday afternoon and be a cycling or soccer tragic. Preference given to someone who is interested in a long term involvement with the practice, so a profit sharing arrangement would be encouraged. A vehicle is provided.
New and recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Dorrigo is a beautiful town and provides unparallelled opportunities for outdoor leisure pursuits. We have World Heritage listed rainforests on our doorstep, wild rivers for paddling and great beaches only 45 minutes away. The town has active sporting clubs and a theatre next door to the surgery.
So if you like the idea of being part of a community in a great little town, and doing work more challenging and worthwhile than vaccinations and itchy dogs, then give me a call.
