SOUTHERN TABLELANDS VETERINARY HOSPITAL - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL

Southern Tablelands Veterinary Hospital is a growing well-established business in a convenient city 45mins from Canberra and 2 hours from Sydney Airport and the beautiful South Coast beaches and 3.5 hours to the Snowy Mountains. A year ago an additional partner came on board to meet patient demand and continue to offer an experienced caring service in a beautiful 5-year-old purpose-built facility. We currently have 3 full time senior small animal veterinarians (all partners) and a part-time mid-career veterinarian. We will soon welcome a new graduate in early 2020. We need another dedicated experienced veterinarian who is interested in learning from our head surgeon and willing to attend CPD to get up to speed and eventually help us with our succession planning. We are supported by 2 receptionists and 4 veterinary nurses all with a similar dedication to quality service and care.

As the oldest established veterinary clinic in Goulburn we have an excellent reputation with local clients but also wish to service the new owners and pets entering the region. We are keen to grow our skillset which currently consists of ANZCVSC members in canine medicine, dermatology and pharmacology and depth in orthopaedics and ultrasound.

If you are interested, or want to find out more about the job or living in Goulburn, please give Amanda a call on 02 4821 1966 or email southerntablelandsvets@gmail.com

Make sure to check out our website and Facebook and recent newspaper articles https://www.goulburnpost.com.au/story/6513627/local-vet-hospital-turns-5/ to see what we’re about.

Declared Australia’s first inland city in 1863, Goulburn is rich in history and has some beautiful old monuments and homes as well as vibrant new suburbs of affordable and high-quality housing. To match this the regional High schools (public and private) offer excellent education outcomes with the ability for weekly boarding in Canberra or Sydney for a private school education or at James Ruse in Campbelltown.

As the population has grown so has the entertainment food and arts scene and being very close to a rural community there is a laid back country outdoor lifestyle to allow for a “slow change”. It’s a growing city with a good regional hospital with expansion development being completed in 2020, easy commutes around the city and to Canberra and Sydney.

MACLEAN/YAMBA, NORTHERN RIVERS - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Is your New Year’s resolution to make a sea- or tree- change?

POSITION AVAILABLE – PERMANENT FULL- or PART-TIME VET SMALL ANIMAL - YAMBA (North Coast NSW)

Are you sick of being surrounded by the rat race? Are you wanting to be able to catch a wave in the morning before work or maybe you’re looking for the solitude of a bush block? Come and join us and live the relaxed coastal lifestyle while being in a practice that supports the professional and personal development of their whole team!

Why are we looking (again) for another vet? Our ex-locum vet has got itchy feet again and is moving on, the majority of our team has been with the practice for years. We try and avoid our vets being overworked and burnt out so although we don’t need anyone for an immediate start, we are keen to get someone in place by Easter to accommodate the time off the other vets are going to need for their weddings/CVE DE courses/etc!

Why should someone move to our area? Because quite simply it is one of the most stunning coastal locations in Australia, with national parks, surfing reserves and a perfect mix of river, ocean and country lifestyle, all within only 3 hours of the nearest capital city.

Why should you choose our practice over the hundreds of the other clinics crying out for vets? We strive to do the best we can do for our patients and our community. We love continuing education for our team and regularly get experts in their field to come and do in-house training so everyone from our wet-behind-the-ears nursing students to most crusty old vets can be kept up to date with the latest development. Last year we had a two day dental wetlab and a three day on-site behaviour workshop on low-stress handling and pre-visit sedation. We also participate in the leadership programs to help with team development and communication skills. On the schedule for this year is an in-clinic workshop on mindfulness techniques to help support the team’s mental wellbeing as that’s just as important as building clinical skills.

Why would it be a great decision for you if you are a new grad (or even if you aren’t)? As we aren’t short-staffed and have a bunch of experienced vets on our team there is no risk of being dropped in the deep end. We are primarily recruiting for someone so when we have vets on leave (which with 5 vets is about half the year) then we won’t need to get locums in. We have a staged transition plan for our new grads with double length consults initially as well as fortnightly vets meeting where cases, new products and CPD updates are discussed.

What’s the catch? You have to participate on our on-call roster. Yes, doing on-call sucks BUT as a regional practice we feel it is important that our patients have access to veterinary care when they need it not just when it’s convenient to us to open the doors. That being said, you will be compensated for weekends as though you worked the full day, not just been on call and the roster is only 1 night per week and 1 weekend a month. Once confident you will also need to be capable of sole charge, since let’s face it as no one really likes doing Saturdays much, we only roster a single vet on at each clinic so the rest of the team can have a well-deserved weekend off!

Still interested? The drop Megan a line either via email, aurora.vet.ross@gmail.com, or on 0488 948 782

Please notewe are happy to consider international vets, as half our existing team are not Aussies however, we will only accept applications from vets have registration in Australia.

NORTH GOULBURN, SOUTHERN TABLELANDS - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Do you want your patients and clients to feel this way after they see you?

“When I now take Gracie to see the vet she pulls on the lead to get inside.“

“Thank you for the time you took with us. We felt listened to, and loved that you worked hard to gain the trust of Bella, and to build a relationship - as opposed to getting us in and out quickly.“

“It’s not every day you find a vet willing to get on the floor with a petrified patient! 10 million thumbs up!“

“Best experience at a vet since moving to Goulburn!”

Luckily, we have a position for an enthusiastic, optimistic, and caring vet to join our team!

Goulburn Vet Clinic is a small animal clinic in regional NSW. A year ago we had 1 vet and 1 nurse, and now our team includes 1 Vet, 3 Nurses, and 2 trainees. Basically, I’m feeling outnumbered!

Most things about the job are negotiable: full time/part time, conference leave, after hours, recent grad/experienced vet, every third Thursday off for full-contact-underwater-basket-weaving practice – you just let us know! What isn’t negotiable is that you have a strong growth mindset.

If you are the type of vet who is always pushing their skills, looks forward to working with your clients, and enjoys lifting up their nursing team then you are who we are looking for.

Now, for lists…

About us:

Who we need: We are seeking an enthusiastic new or recent graduate looking for a fun and rewarding entry into the veterinary profession. At DMVS, we pride ourselves in nurturing great new grads into being the best vets.

Why we are looking: We have recently said goodbye to a new grad who gave us close to 3 years of excellent service.

About us: We are a well respected small animal clinic in Dubbo, in central west NSW. We are currently operating as a 5 vet practice, which has grown considerably in recent years, supported by recent clinic renovations. Our vets are well supported with 3 full time certificate IV vet nurses, two full time receptionists, practice manager and a part-time client coordinator (who also holds certificate IV in veterinary nursing).

Our patients and case load: We are a 100% small animal clinic, 80% dogs, 15% cats, and the remainder being birds, pocket pets, reptiles and wildlife. Our regional location gives us a great variety of cases from companion animals, working and sporting dogs, and a growing small animal reproduction demand. This keeps our clinic busy all year round with interesting medical and surgical cases, providing all staff with a challenging and fulfilling workload, whether new to the profession or with years of experience. As a new grad in a regional setting, your opportunities and experience will be enormous as you are faced with these cases both during clinic hours and while on call.

Our clinic and equipment: We follow a high standard of practice, with new protocols, procedures, medications and equipment always being welcomed. Our clinic contains all the modern equipment and set up you will require to practice a very high standard of veterinary medicine.

ECHUCA, VIC/NSW BORDER - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL, PURCHASE OPTION

Our dynamic small animal practice is looking for an enthusiastic Full or Part time Vet to join and (hopefully) buy our team. We are currently a 1.5 vet practice but have been turning potential clients away as we just don’t have enough time to give them the high quality care we give all our clients and pets…especially since one of us has just had a baby and is having important time off to help her grow!

It is important that we have the time to work cases up properly whilst being able to maintain a work/life balance so we don’t go insane and leave the profession.

Does this sound familiar? Have you worked somewhere where it’s “go, go, go” with no thought for you or your client and patient’s welfare? 5-10min consults, towing the company line and pushing products you don’t believe in? That’s just SO not us. We are an independent practice whose vets, experienced, qualified vet nurses and Practice Manager “Minnie” (she’s a tortoiseshell with a positive attitude) really get on and enjoy our jobs.

ABOUT YOU:
The ideal applicant will have 5-10+ years’ experience and is dreaming about owning our practice. They will be passionate about managing cases, continuing education and communicating well with patients, co-workers and clients.

Being a couple of hours from Melbourne, we are generally able to work up interesting cases ourselves (which is very satisfying!) although we can refer if required.

The vet clinic is a purpose-renovated, heritage-listed building with a great feel. We have quite a few fun “toys” including in-house biochemistry, microscopy, blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximetry, capnography, ultrasound, IV infusion pumps and BAIR Hugger.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We pride ourselves on having happy patients who don’t dread coming to the vet – “bribery and corruption” of pets with treats is standard and someone with an interest in behaviour would be preferred. A love of cats is a must – “Minnie” is very discerning!

Located on the mighty Murray River, top class restaurants, paddlesteamers, wineries, horse riding and waterskiing make Echuca a fabulous place to live. We have a great clientele with minimal after hours calls (our clients really are considerate!).

So if you love being a vet – especially if you’re wanting to own your own practice, and need to keep learning and improving like us, please contact:

GRIFFITH, RIVERINA - FULL TIME MIXED New Graduates welcome

Full Time Veterinarian Required
Small animal (90%) Large animal (10%)
Griffith, NSW, 2680

Yoogali Veterinary Centre, situated in the centre of the Riverina, is seeking a passionate veterinarian to join our growing, 5 veterinarian, mixed practice team.

Since March ’19 we have been operating from a new, purpose built, state of the art Veterinary Hospital, with four consulting rooms (one of which functions as a grieving room with separate exit from the hospital), surgical suite with two operating tables, dental suite, a large treatment area, and separate cat and dog wards. We also have two on-site horse stables, with plans for an equine crush in the near future. The hospital is well equipped with all the toys you would expect from a top-quality veterinary hospital, including ultrasound, digital radiography, full Idexx lab, IM3 dental machine, dental radiography, vet-tome, orthopaedic equipment, electrosurgical unit, pulse oximeter, ETCO2, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, endoscopy, tonometry, power float, patient warming systems- what more could you want!

We pride ourselves on trying to deliver gold standard treatment whenever possible, and our hospital is constantly evolving and looking for areas we can improve. With our nearest referral centres 2-3 hours away, there is ample opportunity to work up and follow through on a variety of complex cases.

Our vets work four days per week with one night on call during the week. Weekends are shared equally between our vets and consist of one Saturday shift from 8:30 to 12pm, with the remainder of the weekend on call. This roster allows plenty of time to explore this beautiful region and enjoy yourself!

Our hospital encourages a good work-life balance, and the practice owner tries hard to create an environment where burnout is prevented. Our vets and nurses are entitled to (and encouraged to take) a one-hour lunch break each day, and we avoid scheduling consultations between 12.15pm and 2:30pm to ensure staff have enough time to have lunch and finish writing up morning consults. Our last consultations for the day are scheduled at 5:30pm, allowing enough time to finish up and get home on time (most of the time!).

We are looking for a keen, team-oriented veterinarian, who wants to work in a professional, supportive and friendly practice. Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years experience, but capable new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Special interests in surgery and/or equine medicine would be highly regarded (but are not essential). Baking and netball skills are also very favourable!

Should you be interested, there is the opportunity to buy into the practice in the future.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, well above award, and regularly reviewed. All the usual entitlements to holidays and study leave apply. Continuing education is encouraged, and any special interests will be actively supported.

Griffith is a fast-growing regional centre, surrounded by culture, wineries, and fantastic food. There is an airport which operates flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne each day. For the athletically inclined, there are local teams for nearly every sport, and the Cocoparra National Park is just around the corner!

To apply for this position, or for further information, please contact Dr. Kim Martel, the practice owner/manager, by phone or email. We are also happy to put you in touch with any of the associate veterinarians (past and present!), if you’d like to hear of their experiences at this practice.

Our purpose built facility at our main practice site is only a few years young and a pleasure to work in.

We are seeking another, preferably experienced vet.

Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and will exceed the modern award conditions. Experience is preferred but if you are a confident and enthusiastic recent graduate you are encouraged to apply. The positions hours are flexible, if you want full-time hours we can offer that, if you want part-time hours we can definitely work something out.
