You can get anywhere in town within 30 minutes as a rule! Coming with a family? This is an excellent city to raise kids, the schools are fantastic, there are so many things to do (and if you join us, you're welcome to ask me about them!) Coming as a new grad? This is a lively city full of young professionals with heaps of social, sporting and hobby opportunities.

Who should apply?

DORRIGO, MID NORTH COAST HINTERLAND - MIXED

Veterinarian required.

Dorrigo Veterinary Clinic

Commencing February 2026, we will have a position for a mixed practice veterinarian.

The position has become available as my daughter, who has been working with me for the past 4 years, has decided to pursue a different career path. Obviously my succession plans have changed.

Dorrigo Veterinary Clinic is a two-vet rural mixed practice, with a case load of 40% dogs, 50% dairy and beef cattle, with horses and the odd cat making up the rest. The practice is well regarded by our colleagues, with a solid reputation established over many years in the community.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Salary between $85k - $120k depending on experience. Shared After hours.

Why would you want to come and live and work in Dorrigo? Well, I’m so pleased you asked!

Firstly, it’s a simply beautiful little town just up the range behind Coffs Harbour and Bellingen. We’re only 45 minutes to the beaches, 60 minutes to Coffs Harbour, and we have World Heritage National Parks at our backdoor.

Being privately owned, the emphasis isn’t on meeting KPIs, but in providing a good service to our clients. We’ve accumulated pretty well all the gear you need to practice excellent medicine and surgery, be if for small animals or cattle and equine work. The work is interesting and varied, and by being out of the way, we get the opportunity to perform procedures that might otherwise be referred.

The practice has been around for a long time and has an established clientele, many of whom we have worked with for decades. We value the relationships with our good clients highly.

The current owner isn’t getting any younger. This will hopefully be my last run as an employer, and I want to make it an outstanding and lasting success, so there is the real opportunity for practice ownership.

And importantly, you can still afford to buy a house in Dorrigo! The real question is why would you want to live in a capital city, with a mortgage you can’t jump over, and being stuck in traffic on your daily commute?

What do you need to bring to the table

  1. A degree as a veterinarian registerable in NSW
  2. Driver’s licence
  3. A willingness to engage in all aspects of the practice
  4. A commitment to professional development across a variety of fields and species

For further information or to apply, please contact Dr Christopher Shirley on 02 6657 2416 or admin@dorrigovet.com.au

We are looking for some new faces to join our Veterinary Team.

Tumut Veterinary Clinic is a mixed (small & large animal) practice in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains in southern NSW. This area has natural beauty abounding and plenty of recreational possibilities on land, water and snow.

Ours is a busy, happy 3 vet practice and we have a vacancy for a full time Veterinarian.
We work out of a newly extended and refurbished small animal hospital with 3 consult rooms, 2 surgical theatres, plenty of room and friendly capable lay staff.

In the yard behind are two custom built undercover horse crushes. The design is a replica of those at CSU.

Veterinarian testimonials:

"Dr Ben,

Ourimbah Vet is a fantastic workplace.....whether you are an experienced vet or a new graduate, and no matter where you are in your veterinary career, you WILL feel like part of team that cares about the creatures and their owners in the local community.
I cannot express how enjoyable my time has been here as a locum coming up from Sydney to help out. All the staff members are so friendly and helpful to ensure the place is run smoothly and everyone is happy!"

"Dr Josh:

I spent 2 weeks at Ourimbah Vet Hospital as a locum, and absolutely loved it. The clinic itself is large and incredibly equipped. It has excellent lab machines, a purpose built dental room with dental radiography and another surgical room that has everything you need. The clinic feels clean, open and bright. The team are extremely helpful and lovely. The nurses and support staff are highly skilled and work independently to make your life as easy as possible. Whilst small the team has developed a great vibe that makes you feel welcomed and comfortable, even as a newcomer. The clientele were very reasonable, and allowed workup and referral where appropriate. When unable to afford diagnostics, they were understanding and communicative. Overall, I had a wonderful time working with the team at Ourimbah. I think it’s the perfect clinic for a vet with initiative to step in and help to forge a successful practice that makes both them, their team and the clientele happy."

WARREN, ORANA REGION, CENTRAL WEST NSW - MIXED New Graduates welcome

THE BEST MIXED PRACTICE VET JOB GOING ROUND…

Then there is an opportunity here for you…

We (Andrew Robertson 'Robbo' & Erica Kennedy 'EK') have been clinic owners for 5 years now. Robbo ventured south as a new grad (JCU) in 2015 and EK joined the fun after doing a mix of mixed practice and government field work since graduating from JCU in 2013. We are joined by the absolute rockstars Steph Archer (CSU 2019) and Hannah Edgell (USyd 2023).

We are bringing a fresh and positive approach to practice ownership and have a clear vision of what we want to create:

If being appreciated and well paid are important…

If working in a team where everyone pulls their weight (no double standards) sounds good…

Then read on!

Who are we looking for?

You will be perfect for our team if…

Tell me more you say…

Our primary clinic is in Warren but we also have a home in Nyngan and service two satellite clinics each fortnight.

Our clients are the best! Predominantly they are beef and sheep producers and small animal owners. They really appreciate having a local Vet. They love us and we love them!

And what about the cases?

With the smallies we do it all with a heavy focus on preventative medicine. We punch above our weight in terms of practicing high quality medicine.

We see lots of farm accidents…

Think broken legs/torn tendons in sheep yards, mangled feet in motorbike chains, hay forks through abdomens, you name it and we've probably treated it or are about to….

We have the capacity to tackle orthopaedics in house but have the option to refer medical and surgical cases to specialists in Tamworth, Sydney and Wagga Wagga.

We also love being outside, not just to top up our VitD levels but to work with proactive producers to improve the productivity and profitability of their flock/herd. A day out could include: bull testing, preg testing, disease investigation, ambulatory horse work, calvings, vaccinating some farm dogs etc.

If you love variety, we got bucketloads!

If you want to check out where we work and who we are…

Please click here to see photos! photos

What's in it for you?

If you have the skills we've got the package that fits!

We are keen to create a package that suits you (we know one size doesn't always fit all).

We are not just saying this because it sounds good…

We genuinely care about the happiness and fulfillment of our vets. You can be confident that we appreciate and reward our team for high quality and dedicated work. Life-work balance is our priority because long term, we want this to be a place you don't want to leave.

Salary package including afterhours and super ranges from $95k-170k based on recent vet earnings.

Gym/sporting/other membership paid yearly. Conference/cpd allowance roughly $1500 per year but we love investing in out vets if there is something you're really keen on.

Afterhours roster is 1 in 4 and we are nearly always around to help-out (especially for a new/recent grad).

And it's not like we are in the middle of nowhere!

Warren is an agricultural town. There are heaps of young people either on properties or who work at businesses that service the Ag Industry (like ours). Between playing/watching footy, going to the pub/balls/races, having a hit of social tennis or throwing a netball around you'll meet heaps of great people.

Dubbo is an hour away and has everything you need. The airport services Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne daily and we think it's important that everyone gets away regularly.

Got some more questions?

Give us a call anytime to have a chat. We would love to have a yarn about whether we might be just what you're looking for!

For all enquires please phone Andrew (Robbo) on 0429 808 814 or Erica on 0433 490 580 or forward your resume to info@wrvg.com.au

ALBURY, NSW/VIC BORDER - SMALL ANIMAL

Recent grad (12 months experience) to experienced vet.
Very supportive hospital, seeking like-minded Veterinarian
Up to 4 day working week (38hours) available, welcome part-timers @ 2-3 days per week.
Fair share of after-hours and on call is required, including rotational Saturdays.
Team consulting for optimal support
Experience vet by negotiation ($85,000 - $130,000) plus Super

We are a low fuss, enjoy the job and support each other kind of crew! We want you to enjoy your work, connecting with patients and their owners while being supported by our very experienced team of support staff. Our nurses are empowered to do a lot of work, so you can focus on doing the vet work you love.

A bit about us:

Our hospital is 6 years old this year and we have enjoyed a welcomed response from the community and have a well-established and lovely client base. We operate on a 1 vets per day basis currently. When you join the team you will increase our vet staffing to 2 vets on your days of work, always working alongside another vet.

We start each day off with a ‘morning huddle’, where all team members have a look at the schedule for the day, share a daily win we have had and ensure clarity in everyone’s roles for that day.

Currently we have rostered surgery days where you will do surgery in the morning and consult in the afternoon and consulting days. Our surgery caseload is varied but we are well equipped to service preventative and routine surgeries through to emergency and complex surgeries. We have a love for dentistry, with a wonderful staged dentistry program.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our consults are mostly 30 minutes, giving you time to get to know clients, do a thorough examination and discuss treatment plans. We have an experienced support team, including a dedicated receptionist, senior nurses and trainee nurses. We support the nursing team’s growth by getting them to do as much as they can so you can focus on vet work.

A full time vet would work a 4-day week, 8am-6pm and have 1 rostered day off. Pro-rata for part time. Part timers are preferred, as we believe this gives a better work life balance.

After hours is evenly shared (when you’re ready) – currently each vet does one night per week and one weekend per month (Friday night to Monday morning. Call outs are minimal with designated on call times for our clients.

Recent grads would have phone support for all after hours if required.

A little bit about you:

We are looking for someone who has:

A little bit about our hospital

We are currently a daytime GP hospital with a vet on call for afterhours.

We are well set up and some of our major equipment includes:

We are registered as a Gold ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and run Ezyvet as our Practice management software.

We practice hospital excellence and are continually self-evaluating our protocols to ensure best practice is achieved.

Ongoing CPD and team training:

This is critical for everyone in the team. We advocate for ongoing learning with regular team training and refresher training, practice membership to VIN, Vet Education webinars and ISFM. You will also be supported with a study allowance of $1500 PA and 1 week study leave per year. This comes into effect once you have been with us for 12 months.

We have monthly nurse and vet meetings to ensure smooth flow of hospital procedures and discuss projects we are working on. We hold a Team meeting quarterly where we close the clinic and discuss non-clinical training.

Teaching:

We pride ourselves on being a hospital, that advocates training and teaching, generally hosting veterinary nursing students and vet students where we can. Once you have found your feet, we would love for you to teach others, as teaching is also an amazing confidence building experience and really gets you comfortable with the content.

A little bit about Albury-Wodonga:

The clinic is located in Albury (Lavington) but the area is generally referred to as Albury-Wodonga. Albury being located on the NSW side of the Murray River and twin sister city - Wodonga being located on the Victorian side. Together the area offers great out-of-work lifestyle opportunities, many outdoor places to explore, in winter the snow fields are only an hour or so away. It is a large enough city to have all of your major shops and services, but small enough to still have that country feeling.

You can visit our Facebook page to see some photos of the clinic and get a ‘feel’ for the team - or we welcome you to come and meet the team. We would welcome you to work with us during final year practice placement if you are graduating this year.

For all enquiries please contact: Dr Sally Henry (Veterinarian & Practice Manager) by phone 0402 902 326 or via email manager@alburyanimalhospital.com.au.

It offers a lifestyle which is more relaxed and affordable than Sydney but Sydney is within an easy commute (approx. 35 minutes by car or there are regular train services) and Newcastle is just over an hour away. I moved to the Central Coast for my first job after graduation and love the area – its only downfall, finding a café for a coffee after about 1600 in the afternoon.

If you have any questions or would like to apply please contact Sarah on sarahliddane@hotmail.com. Happy to consider a short period of causal employment for you to try before you buy, as the only way to truly appreciate a practice is to work within it and its team. All discussions and applications will be completely confidential.
