We are looking for someone to cover a leave position for a period of 6 to 8 months with the possible chance of joining our team long term.

The position commences March/April 2019. The hours offered will be 18 to 26.5 hours a week and every 2nd weekend. The days that require coverage are Monday’s, Fridays and every second Saturday. There is a possible chance for an extra day if suitable. The position is as per the award conditions.

The KVS team consists of 2 vets and 2 nurses and a practice manager. The practice services a wide rural community and attends to large and companion animals throughout the day. Your role will include reception and nursing duties. However, familiarity with large animal veterinary nurse work and scheduling would be an advantage.

RSPCA Qld presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vet Nurse to join their team at the world class Animal Care Campus Wildlife Hospital based in Wacol.

You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by ensuring that the health and welfare needs of all animals in the care of RSPCA Qld are met and are of the highest standards practical. Your role will require you to work as part of a dynamic team within the wildlife hospital.

In this role, you will:

With a commitment to achieving the long term goals of RSPCA Qld, you will possess a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or Australian recognised equivalent) or higher. Previous critical care and orphaned nursing experience will be advantageous.

We are currently recruiting for part time vet nurses.  Working hours will be a minimum of 16 hours per week, with hours being rostered over 24 hours a day on a rotating roster.  Regular weekend work will be required. 

Remuneration is as per the RSPCA Qld Enterprise Agreement for Veterinary Staff with a starting pay rate of $23.82 per hour (Certificate IV qualified or equivalent). Junior rates may apply.
