Kings Road Veterinary Surgery, Townsville (posted 18th December)

Veterinary Nurse – Full-time

Looking for a qualified Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse with a minimum 2yrs experience, for immediate start in a Full-time position, we have a 4-week rotating roster with 38 hours per week, one Saturday and shared afterhours.

Whilst we seek to source an experienced Vet Nurse, Students and new graduates may still be considered, subject to their suitability.

Our clinic is very fast paced, busy and has a varied workload. We have high surgery loads, high client demand and a large variety in day to day tasks.

Each nurse rotates through Hospital nurse, Surgical Nurse, Reception and Consult Nurse with full autonomy in their role. We all contribute to client communication, ordering/stock control, admit and discharge, surgical prep and monitoring, reporting to the vets on patient progress, invoicing and everything in-between.

In saying all of that, we are a very light-hearted team and nothing is too hard, too much or too big an issue. We have very approachable management and discuss all changes and ideas as a team.

We are a small team consisting of Dr Chris Pretorius who is the owner/director, a Practice Manager and 5 nurses.

We are a close team and regularly catch up outside of work for drinks and exploring what Far North Queensland has to offer. We are all quite active and enjoy living a full lifestyle.

Our main focus is customer service and catering to our clients. We have a very practical approach and our clients are a part of our big family rather than just a number.

We offer a huge variety of services including general surgery, dentals, radiology, ultrasound and referral options, a variety of soft tissue surgery such as soft palate/nares and anal gland resection, and a large variety of orthopaedic surgeries such as TTA’s, FHO, Patella and fracture repair.

We do a lot of work with rescue and rehoming groups. We have separate isolation, dog and cat wards, theatre and digital x-ray, dental and knockdown areas and a recovery area.

Bottom line is, you won’t have time to be bored and you’ll see some pretty cool stuff. So, if you’re ready for a fast-paced challenge, come join us!

To apply please forward a Cover Letter and Resume to Chris Pretorius at admin@kingsroadvetsurgery.com.au or better yet, come in to drop it off and say hi!
