The Berwick Village Vet, South-East Melbourne (posted 24th February) Full or Part Time Vet Nurse
The Berwick Village Vet is looking for an experienced nurse. We will consider full-time or part-time for the right applicant.
So who are we? We are a small two vet practice in Berwick. At present we have 6 nurses in various roles, and we have a great mix of personalities. We love our little clinic! If you are after a big corporate style job this job is not for you!
What do we want? An experienced nurse to work into the team. Along with every other vet clinic in the country, we are now busier than before and we need another nurse to help out. We really pride ourselves on trying to work with our clients, and we have great clients.
We need a nurse who really enjoys the Customer service side. Customer service is harder than ever with a busier practice, limited numbers of people inside the building, and the hassles of a pandemic. We also need an organizer. Someone who can work autonomously and doesn’t need to be given a list each day. We alternate rosters so you’ll be in with the furries on surgery day as well. You need to get the Vet moving, get the job done, and really look after the little patients who are sometimes really not enjoying their day! So care and attention to detail for managing the pets pre- and post- op is important, as is confidence in the surgery itself.
Marketing skills, including newsletter and social media are an advantage. If you’ve applied for other jobs here please advise when, in your email.
So how do you apply? Call the clinic on 9707 3855, or fire off an email with CV and cover letter to jeremy@berwickvillagevet.com.au

The Veterinary Referral Hospital (VRH) provides a 24 hour pet emergency service. We are open 365 days a year, including public holidays.
We are looking for Veterinary Nurses - Full-time, Part-time and Casual.
Together, the 80-strong team at VRH provides comprehensive patient care from Emergency and Critical Care to Specialist Surgery, Neurology Services, Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging. We pride ourselves on the quality of our care, keeping sight of the need to maintain a fun and supportive environment.

2020 was a challenging year for everyone and no more so than for those involved in the veterinary industry.
At VRH we met those challenges together. We took some hits, learnt a lot about ourselves and each other and have come out the other side better and stronger than ever. This year is our time to shine. Maybe it’s yours too.
For VRH to continue to grow, we need some more great nurses to add to our wonderful team. Casual, Part Time and Full Time roles are on offer to the right candidates. Weekday positions are available across the departments. As a 24/7 Emergency clinic, afternoon and night shift positions are available in Emergency and Critical Care during the week and alternate weekends.
What we offer you:
- The opportunity to use and expand your clinical skills in a world class, dynamic environment
- A challenging and rewarding position – know that you personally are making a difference!
- Support professionally and personally with a complete training plan and health & well-being program
- Attractive salaries & benefits for the right people – we binned the award rate last year like a used mask
- The opportunity to use all the best equipment, support a fabulous bunch of vets, make new friends and learn new skills
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- A higher level of competency in all areas of Veterinary Nursing
- Qualifications as a Veterinary Nurse, minimum Certificate IV or equivalent
- A current radiation licence, or the ability to obtain prior to starting
- Exceptional organisation and communication skills
- A flexible, adaptable and positive ‘can do’ attitude!
Interest in Critical Care and Neurology will be highly regarded and training will be provided to successful applicants.
