DYNAMIC RECEPTIONIST REQUIRED

A client-loving, enthusiastic and effervescent receptionist is required for our veterinary practice. We are located approximately 40 minutes south of Perth.

This is a full time position, however the successful applicant will work just 4 days per week, with one of the shifts scheduled on the weekend.

Previous reception experience (vet or otherwise) is essential, as is a bright, bubbly personality and exceptional communication skills. The position is in a very busy hospital, so time management skills, the ability to prioritise, and organisational skills are also essential.

Applicants must have their own vehicle.

The crew consists of 9 Vets, an experienced nursing team and a dedicated reception team. The large hospital is very well equipped and facilitated with a light and spacious reception area, 9 consulting rooms, 3 surgeries and treatment rooms, in-house Idexx lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, orthopaedic surgeons, visiting ophthalmologist, and an after hours emergency team.

The role is 100% reception, so responsibilities will include client care, administration work, general ‘housekeeping’ and the implementation of practice protocols. A certificate IV in veterinary nursing is preferred.

The Position

CARE is seeking an enthusiastic and conscientious veterinary receptionist to deliver exemplary customer service to our clients. This role combines frontline hospital reception duties, administrative tasks, and telephone switchboard operations. Our veterinary receptionists must have the meticulous attention to detail required to meet CARE’s high standard of client relations, record keeping, and hygiene protocols.

The successful candidate will be self-driven, well-presented, and able to function effectively both individually and as part of a team. The role would best suit a composed, compassionate, and professional individual, who is capable of managing multiple competing priorities and working under pressure.

Prior experience in a customer service position is a requirement of the role, as is a background in the veterinary sector. Applicants must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and possess a very high level of written and verbal communication. Knowledge of EzyVet practice management software and medical privacy laws would be advantageous, but not essential.

We have separate dog and cat wards and a great outdoor area used for large animal work and puppy classes. Kapunda has also had recent renovations, whilst smaller it is still well equipped.

The position is for a full time receptionist, 4 days per week. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in the veterinary industry.
