Centre for Animal Referral & Emergency, Collingwood, Inner Melbourne, VIC (posted 23rd January) Client Services Manager
- Permanent full-time basis, remuneration range $75,000 to $85,000.
- An industry leading team based in the heart of Melbourne.
- Fully equipped hospital with modern facilities.
The Centre for Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and conscientious Client Services Manager (CSM) to support the organisation in delivering a consistently exceptional customer service experience to our valued clients and referring veterinarians.
About CARE
CARE is a busy, multi-specialist veterinary hospital located in Collingwood, on the fringe of the Melbourne CBD. It evolved from an ardent intention to provide the highest standards of patient care in a cooperative and cohesive, team-oriented environment that respects, supports and encourages the personal balance and professional development of its staff. This focus has fostered the development of excellent relationships within our staff, and with our referring veterinarians and clients. The hospital is staffed by an outstanding team of emergency veterinarians and nurses, working alongside specialists in internal medicine and surgery.
About the Role
The Client Services Manager (CSM) is a mid-level supervisory role within the organisation, overseeing our frontline customer service operations. The role is primarily focussed on coordinating and delivering an exceptional customer service experience to external stakeholders at all touchpoints across CARE, with a number of ancillary duties that support the work of our organisation.
Reporting to the General Manager, and working closely with the Nursing Manager, typical tasks and responsibilities include:
- Rostering and day-to-day management and support of the reception and its staff.
- End-to-end management of inbound referral appointment requests, including scheduling, financial estimates, procuring patient histories, and facilitating client and interdepartmental communication.
- Timely and diligent curation of all email communications in the main hospital mailbox.
- Proactive management of client expectations and feedback, resolving and/or escalating issues as appropriate.
- Coordinating extramural placements of students within the hospital.

This role would suit an enthusiastic and mature current/former veterinary nurse looking to transition to an administrative role while maintaining close ties with the industry.
This is a permanent full-time (38hrs/week) position. The typical work pattern of the Client Services Manager is Monday to Friday, during regular business hours, however the CSM remains on-call to reception staff who require supervisor support and/or are unable to attend work. In these circumstances, this will require coordination of a substitute receptionist, or – on rare occasions when a substitute staff member cannot be coordinated – in person attendance to provide (paid) cover. (Note: Receptionists work daytimes, and weekday evenings only. There are no night shifts, or weekend evening shifts.)
Life at CARE
