The Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Hospital Director to lead our exceptional team of Veterinarians and Nurses in everyday small animal practice. You will be responsible for the profitable operation of the Hospital and its achievement of KPI targets and budget objectives.
You are also responsible for ensuring the regulatory compliance of the hospital and will develop, approve and maintain a high level of Veterinary standards of care.
You will need to ensure the hospital provides a variety of animal healthcare duties in the hospital, as well as management, mentorship and development of all hospital team members, whilst ensuring you are nurturing an environment of positive teamwork within hospital team members.
A competitive package will be negotiable depending on experience.
The Practices:
Our full-time staff generally work 4 days a week (with a set day off) and 1 in 3 to 4 Saturdays (9am-2pm). We offer 4 weeks annual leave and 1 weeks paid study leave with travel/registration allowance. There is no After-Hours work required. We have a strong belief in work life balance and book appointments and structure our workdays such that finishing on time is the expected normal.
The successful applicant will lead (in conjunction with Hospital Director Hobart) a team of eight Vets who work between 2 practices in Hobart. Hobart Animal Hospital is located in central Hobart and Channel Highway Animal Hospital is located in the Hobart suburb of Kingston. Both Hospitals are modern and well equipped. We operate with a high support staff ratio and have a nurse present during consultations to assist the Vets in their duties. We offer a wide range of medical and surgical services and have a good client base allowing quality care to be provided to our patients. We actively encourage and support ongoing education.

Launceston now has an afterhours emergency clinic on weekends and public holidays, so we are lucky enough to only have Mon – Thu nights on call each week. We also use VetCheck 24/7 to screen these calls to reduce the number of call outs our vets receive. Saturday shifts are shared 1 in 5 or 6 (9am – 3pm).
Remuneration will be well above award – $70-140K pro rata commensurate with experience. (After Hours Earnings are in addition to this)

ST HELENS, COASTAL NORTH EAST TASMANIA - MIXED 
Where are you now, in your career? The East Coast Veterinary Clinic, that has supported Eastern Tasmanian Clients for 36 years, and is now looking to move to its next phase. You may be looking at running a clinic as an employee, moving to owning a practice with a very solid base or just working in the only Veterinary Clinic on the entire East Coast of Tasmania, we can help you construct your dream. The Clinic comes with solid clientele, a practice manager who currently owns the practice and building and staff who have driven this clinic to be the successful 1.6 vet clinic that it is today. As a clinic situated over one and a half hours drive from the nearest, other veterinary clinic, it strives to carry out a much of its own diagnostic activity in house, and as such, has most of equipment needed to do just that. Such as EzyVet Practice Management Software; IDEXX in-house CBC, Chem and Urinalysis; wireless DR Digital Radiography; Small Animal Ultrasound; IM3 Dental Unit; Tonopen; Pulse Oximetry; Blood Pressure Monitoring; Ap-Alert’s as well as IV Fluid Pumps and fluid warmers. This clinic works with predominantly companion animals and wildlife with an interesting and varied case load that would see any veterinarian developing and using a wide array of skills and knowledge.
Any full-time wage will be above award and there will be a generous relocation allowance if required. The light load of afterhours case load is also varied, with clients willing to travel to either Launceston or Hobart if need be.

SOMERSET, WEST OF BURNIE - MIXED 
Come and join us in beautiful North West Tasmania. Town and Country Veterinary Service are excited to open an employment opportunity for a vet in our rapidly expanding mixed practice. Currently a 3 vet practice with a great team of enthusiastic, dedicated and fun-loving nurses, we are wanting to expand to 4 vets to meet our expanding/increasing demand.
We are located in Somerset, a small township close to the larger regional centre of Burnie. Tassie is a great place to live and raise a family. There is a large choice of primary and secondary schools, both private and public. Melbourne is a 1 hour flight away and the nearest airport is only 15 minutes from the clinic. In easy reach of rain forest, Cradle Mountain and the rugged West Coat; the temperate climate is perfect bush walking, fishing, biking and other outdoor activities. We are a family-owned practice and our close-knit supportive team reflect those values. We encourage teamwork and learning. Workload is currently 70% small animal, 30% large animal with a focus on dairy. Clinic hours 8:30 – 5:30 with no weekend clinic.
We are well equipped with equipment including inhouse lab (Vet Scan biochemistry, Abaxis haematology, digital slide scanner and pathology), BCF Mindray6 ultrasound, orthopaedics kit with cordless Milwaukee drill, digital x-ray (plus x-ray table with built in plate), IM3 dental machine and x-ray, multiple anaesthetic machines, and all the usual monitoring equipment. Small animal case load is extremely varied. You will get to work up cases that would be referred in the city. For those trickier surgery cases, we have a surgeon who visits the practice.
Farm clients are progressive and friendly – people who will still give you a cuppa and the occasional meal. Farms range from large seasonal dairy herds to hobby blocks. Case load includes calvings, general emergencies, pregnancy testing, reproductive work, lameness and disease and mastitis investigations etc. 2 BCF ultrasounds (Easi-scan linear and Easi-scan curve) with BUG goggles and wireless screen for preg testing. BRIGHTON, NORTH OF HOBART - MIXED, SMALL ANIMAL & MIXED POSITIONS 
Seeking associate veterinarians – experienced, recent or new graduates welcome.
Brighton Veterinary Services is located on the outskirts of Hobart, Tasmania, in a rapidly growing area. We are a busy mixed animal practice (85% small animal, 15% large animal) and have positions for either a mixed practice vet or a small animal only vet. Our clinic focuses on allowing the individual vet to work up cases as they feel fit whilst working in a supportive and encouraging team environment. The role can be catered to your desires, either a consulting only role or a mix of consults and procedures.
Now the important parts
- Paid on an hourly rate rather than a salary – you get paid for every minute that you work!
- The clinic hours for clients are 9-5 weekdays and 9-1 Saturdays – we can’t guarantee that you will get out on time every shift, that’s not the nature of our business, but we do our absolute best!
- We run 20minute consultations with catchup times and lunch breaks scheduled each day. There is NO SOLE CHARGE during the week.
- Experienced and passionate nurses that are highly trained.
- Our clients are lovely and do their best for their pets, and we are looking for a vet that can work within their means to give the best care to their pets.
- 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave and study allowance, as well as attractive hourly rate. No after hours as we refer these to the local emergency centre.
- We have a focus on reproduction and are constantly working on expanding our skills in this area. It also means that we a lot of incredibly cute puppies and kittens. We also have an extensive range of surgical and medical cases, meaning that no day is the same.

The Sorell Council is the fastest growing municipality in Tasmania. It is in a great location with easy access to Hobart and is the gateway to the East Coast and Tasman peninsula.
Our hours of operation are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 12pm on a Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays. There are no after hours duties.
99% of the caseload is small animal work. The remainder is a mix of chickens, goats, sheep, cows and horses. This role can be 100% small animal if desired. With additional staff, the large animal service offering can be expanded exponentially.
We are a small clinic that truly values its staff. We are looking for someone who is laid back but has a good work ethic and is a team player. We require high standards of patient care and look to have fun at work whilst maintaining our professional focus.

The Position:
We are seeking a Veterinarian who is competent in everyday small animal practice. Support exists within the practice for managing more complex medical and surgical cases and there is opportunity to further develop your skills and experience in these areas.
A competitive wage package will be negotiable depending on experience.
Our full-time staff generally work 4 days a week (with a set day off) and 1 in 3 to 4 Saturdays (9am-2pm). Launceston Vet Clinic is a well-established Community Veterinary Hospital located in the heart of the city centre in Launceston, Tasmania. We are looking for an enthusiastic veterinarian to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have an upbeat, empathetic personality to provide both our patients and clients with an exceptional level of care in a friendly, fun-loving, experienced, and supportive environment.
Total clinical freedom with autonomy is encouraged. Our caseload consists of primarily small animal, pocket pets, birds, and occasional urban fringe farms or exotic animals from local wildlife parks.
We have recently relocated to a fantastic purpose-built facility consisting of three consult rooms, two dedicated operating theatres, separate dentistry suite, Imaging with Digital xray, ultrasound, and dental radiography. Our vets are spoilt with highly experienced and compassionate veterinary nursing staff. Our hospital is exceptionally well equipped with an x-ray machine, dental x-ray machine, ultrasound, electrocautery, orthopaedic equipment, in-house blood machine and in-house microscope.
Our clinic is open six days a week, 8 am to 7 pm on weekdays, and 9 am to 5 pm on Saturdays. We offer our clients an on-call service for emergency cases, for which applicants would need to participate and would be well compensated. We share our on-call cover with another local clinic, which means our clinicians enjoy being on-call Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesdays, with the other clinic covering the rest of the week and weekends.
