RIVERSTONE, NORTH-WEST SYDNEY - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Riverstone Veterinary Hospital
NW Sydney
FT/PT/Casual (suitable for new graduates)

No weekend work…
No after hours work…
No public holiday work…

No, its not too good to be true. We care too much about work life balance for our staff, and believe our best work can be done when we are rested and ready for the day ahead.

We are not your typical chaotic massive clinic with staff rushing here, there and everywhere. We are a small family-owned clinic with a tightknit group of vets and nurses. You will feel part of the team immediately as you are welcomed to what previous locum vets have described as “the most passionate and friendly staff ever worked with”.

The days are always different with a nice mix of both consults and surgeries. Pick the hours you want to work. Less or more… we can cater to whatever you like. We would also be more than happy to support a confident new graduate as you would be mentored by Dr Erin Kefford and Dr Prue Hunt, both are very experienced and fantastic teachers.

The clinic is fitted with in house IDEXX pathology machines, dental xrays and im3 equipment, a DR x-ray machine and GE logiq ultrasound. So lots of toys to play around with!!

Seeking Full-Time Veterinarian for Glenhaven & Winston Hills Veterinary Hospital

Glenhaven and Winston Hills Veterinary Hospital, sister clinics located in Sydney’s Hills District, were established over 30 years ago. After 12 years of service, one of our talented and hardworking vets is retiring, opening an opportunity for a new enthusiastic and experienced Veterinarian to join our friendly team.

GLEBE, SYDNEY'S INNER WEST - SMALL ANIMAL AND EXOTICS New Position

Permanent Full-Time Veterinarian - December 2021 start date

About Us

The Wild Vet is an exotics and small animal hospital based in Glebe, just across the road from the beautiful Blackwattle Bay foreshore walk (think lunchtime walks soaking up the sunshine). We see an enormous variety of domestic pets, from cats and dogs, to rabbits, parrots, pythons, fish, and dragons (bearded and water, not Targaryen). With frequent wildlife care on top of our routine consults and cases, no two days are the same.

Our beautiful and new (just under two years old now) hospital is fully equipped with all the essentials - ultrasound, DR radiography, cautery, video endoscopy, iM3 dental machine, dental radiography, in-house haematology, & biochemistry, and much more. We have three consultation rooms, a separate theatre, and one of the most socially-distancing-friendly waiting rooms you’ll ever step foot in!

Please click here to see photos! photos

If you’re looking to be a part of a team that cares for possums, lorikeets, and bin chickens as much as the frequent flyer french bulldog, you’re in the right place! We are an environmentally focused, paperless practice which strives to provide gold standard care for all of our patients. The Wild Vet team all love their coffee and food, so get excited for a well-utilised Nespresso machine, snacks topped up weekly, free weekly staff lunches and regular training sessions to go hand in hand. Our lunchroom also boasts a couch, because, let’s be honest, nap time is not just for kids.

We have an inclusive BYP (Bring Your Pet) to work policy, and they will swiftly become a part of the rest of our furry/feathered/scaled family! In fact, our newest team member/clinic pet is a Blue and Gold Macaw named Apollo, who will quickly become your personal fan.

About The Role

You will be joining our team as a permanent full-time vet working Tuesdays to Fridays, and one weekend a month. Work-life balance is our jam, so enjoy finishing shifts on time, along with a full one-hour, paid lunch break, plus a flexible roster if you have other commitments. No after hours or on-call work either.

You will need to be comfortable with a small amount of sole charge work (usually a couple of hours at the tail end of a shift), but we have some awesome and experienced nurses to support you throughout the whole day. With highly skilled vet nurses who are trained to place IV catheters, take x-rays, collect bloods, administer treatments to exotics patients, and who collect histories at the beginning of consults, our vets are able to focus on a gold standard of patient care all day, every day.

We also set aside half an hour each morning and evening for treatments, so every hospital patient gets the attention they deserve.

We offer paid AVA membership and vet registration, on a pro-rata basis based on a full-time role, along with paid study leave with contribution towards continuing education.

About You

You are *that* vet. You know, the one that has a bright personality and a smile on your face even when the day gets a bit hectic. You have some exotics and wildlife experience, or you’re keen to learn about the many wonderful species we treat. We treat clients and their pets like family members and are looking for a new vet who will do the same. With clients who are invested in their pets’ health, you will love being able to offer and treat your patients with the gold standard we all strive for. You’ve worked with EzyVet before (or are happy to learn the ropes), and your client communication is top notch, as you’re comfortable giving patient hospital and surgical updates to pet parents on the daily. You prioritise excellent customer service and work efficiently in a team as well as showing initiative when working alone.

This amazing role is ready to fill immediately. Salary will be commensurate with experience, and well above award. If you are looking for a part time role, rather than committing to full time hours, please still get in touch. We’re looking for the right person for our team and would be open to a flexible schedule!

If this sounds like your dream role, send your CV and a cover letter to our practice manager, Liz Garling, at admin@thewildvet.com.au If you’d like some more info or to have a confidential chat about the position, just pick up the phone and dial 1300 945 383.

COLLAROY PLATEAU, NORTHERN BEACHES - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

NEW HOOMAN REQUIRED FOR HIGH-MAINTENANCE CLINIC CAT

My name is Butternut. I am the resident quality-of-life-increasing feline at Collaroy Plateau Veterinary Hospital, and something has got to change. The boss hoomans, Lewis & Caroline, and the practice manager, Eloise, keep pushing me aside when I settle in for my daily snuggles & chin rubs. It is high time we bring another vet into the team to increase the number of available laps for me to grace with my tortoiseshell fur glitter.

Our (my) hospital is an independently owned small animal hospital on the sunny Northern Beaches of Sydney. I enjoy voiding the warranty of such expensive items as digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental radiographs, Vet-Tome, suction & cautery in surgery, & in house Idexx blood machines. We have a close relationship with the local emergency & specialist centre and often have visiting specialists whose feet I dance around in an attempt to destroy their precious surgical drills and endoscopes and break a few ankles (an endeavour in which I have not yet succeeded).

The hospital has recently undergone an internal redesign so there is now a lovely staff room with a well-stocked pantry (the perfect place to brush me & and feed me sweet morsels for hours on end). We are passionate about mental health, work life balance, & finding the right personality to fit our team.

We are after a new or recent graduate to join us in 2022 and will provide on-site mentoring (what I can’t teach you about cat handling isn’t worth knowing – my claws will let you know when you’ve gone astray), with no sole-charge for the first 6 months or until you are ready. We are closed Sundays & public holidays, with no on-call or after-hours work. We are big believers in continuing personal development in veterinary knowledge, emotional health, and personal awareness.

To stalk us further and gaze upon my lovely self, visit www.collaroyplateauvet.com.au  and our facebook_logo & instagram_logo pages.

To get in touch just email your cover letter & resume to caroline@collaroyplateauvet.com

Hang on, who endorsed that heading??

The clinic’s caseload is predominately small animal, however our semi-rural locality allows us to work with a variety of animals including sheep, goats, cattle, pocket pets and some wildlife cases as they arise. A knowledge in these other animals is useful but not essential.

Clinic hours are 7.30 to 7pm with consultation from 8 - 11am and 4 - 7pm and weekends are 8 - 12pm (with consultations from 9 till 12pm). Veterinarians enjoy a long weekend after every weekend worked.
