MACKAY, COASTAL CENTRAL QLD - EXPERIENCED MIXED OR SMALL ANIMAL

Are you a unicorn?

I'm really sorry to shatter your dreams.  Unicorns don't make that good a vet anyway.

What if you feel like a unicorn though?  What if you could be a perfect fit? What if you could be part of a practice where you had autonomy in your role, contributed to the practice's direction and the opportunity to teach others whilst continually learning yourself? That, I can offer you.

To our clients and their pets we aim to help people enjoy having animals, whether that be having productive cows, high-performing horses or healthy cats and dogs. To our staff, we strive to provide an environment for personal and professional development. To create opportunity.

Please click here to see photos! photos

So where do you fit in?

I'm on the search for a veterinarian who is seeking opportunity to develop their leadership to complement their professional skillset. I want you to share the excitement of continued learning and watch as people all around you pursue their own purpose and mastery.

How do we do that?

Caseload, facilities and access to training. We have a busy caseload with a wonderful clientele who are willing to pay for value. By continually investing in new equipment, facilities and in our staff training, we can continue to advance the level of our service to keep our patients as best-cared for as possible.

What do I need?

Some experience. If you're a new or recent graduate and you've read this far, I still want to hear from you - check out this ad. As for you, you'll need to want this. You'll need to get the same kicks we do.

How will I know?

The only way we can work this out is if you reply to this ad. I've done what I can do - I've put my hand up. Now you need to do the same.

Righto, the nuts and bolts:

The rest?

Up to you..

FAR NORTH QLD - MAREEBA - MIXED MOSTLY SMALL ANIMALS

Central Veterinary Surgery – Veterinary Position

Brief: Far North QLD, Mareeba – Full time or part time commencing immediately; mixed clinic but predominantly small animal; some sole charge; shared OOH; no accommodation or vehicle.

Position Available: Full time or Part time associate veterinarian, Commence immediately, Shared OOH.

Candidate: Experienced veterinarian preferred – minimum of 2 years' experience

Central Veterinary Surgery has been established for 30 years and we pride ourselves on delivering a high quality of veterinary care. We are a mixed clinic but about 90% of our caseload is small animal.

Currently the practice is made up of three veterinarians, two full-time and one part-time as well as four experienced nurses, two junior nurses and a practice manager. In recent years the clinic has changed hands and we have grown our team with a focus on continuing that high standard of veterinary care whilst still having a good work life balance. With the increase in workload we have seen over the last 12 months we are looking to again grow our veterinary team to continue to achieve those goals. We consider ourselves to be a close and hard working group who support each other during those hectic, crazy days but also love a good celebration and the ability to have a laugh is a must!

We have a long established, loyal and friendly client base who are proactive with their pet’s health and the team are constantly motivated by the value that our clients place on the important bond with their pets. Our clinic is computerised with Ezyvet software and has two consultation rooms, a dedicated surgery, ScanX radiograph machine, ultrasound, in-house pathology machines (haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis, etc) and dedicated isolation, cat and dog hospital wards as well as a great rapport with referral specialists who travel to the area.

Please click here to see photos! photos

The working week consists of 8am-5pm Monday to Friday with 8am-12pm Saturday mornings. Out of hours (OOH) work and weekends/public holidays are shared between staff at a ratio of 1 in 3 (with the addition of yourself this would change to 1:4). We try to keep the work roster fairly consistent but can be flexible too. Typically the full time veterinarians will work four days and have a designated RDO each week. The part time veterinarians can be flexible in their days but ideally they would work 2-3 days a week and help with after hours.

The successful candidate must:

Mareeba is certainly a great place to work and has easy access to Cairns, Port Douglas, Palm Cove, the Daintree Rainforest, the Cape York Peninsula and the Great Barrier Reef, just to name a few as well as some great food and coffee in the area!

If this sounds like the change you’re after or you would like more information about the position then please get in touch with us, otherwise send your cover letter/resume to:

HERMIT PARK, TOWNSVILLE - FULL OR PART TIME SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Palms Veterinary Group is a long-established veterinary practice comprised of two small animal clinics in Townsville, North Queensland. We are a friendly, dedicated team of veterinary professionals looking for another vet (or two!) to join our team.

Palms Vets is a practice that values patients, clients and staff alike. We pride ourselves on fostering loyal client relationships by delivering a thorough, personal approach to veterinary care for our patients, and we are seeking someone who shares these values. You would be joining a team of 3 vets and 9 support staff. Our two senior vets have over 20 years experience each and are happy to provide support where needed. The nursing team is very experienced and friendly and their co-operative approach ensures that patient care and client satisfaction is of a high standard. If you have a positive professional attitude, and believe a positive work environment is important, then we would like to talk to you.

The position would suit a vet with some experience, with a competitive salary to reflect this, however a new graduate (or two?) with a can-do attitude would also be considered. Salary package would range from $70 000 to $115 000 depending on experience. We see an interesting variety of cases, and support local charity and wildlife groups. You would primarily be working at our purpose-built main hospital, with all the usual tools of the trade. Our second clinic is currently undergoing a facelift so will be looking fabulous for your arrival.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We understand the importance of a good work-life balance and aim to provide this through a flexible roster and adequate time-off, especially after on-call duties. Afterhours duties are kept to a minimum through shared rostering between other clinics and all veterinary staff. Annual study leave is provided and we are happy to support any particular area of interest you would like to develop. Referral services are increasingly available in Townsville, at JCU Veterinary School and with travelling specialists.

Full Time Position for Mixed Practice Veterinarian

If so, then a position at Moranbah Veterinary Clinic may be the job for you.

Moranbah Veterinary Clinic has had a position become available for either an experienced Vet or a new Graduate to join our mixed practice in Central Queensland.

Like all busy practices we thrive on challenges and enjoy our work. Digital X-Rays, full IM3 dental set up, SA ultrasound, complete in-house IDEXX laboratory, multiple fluid pumps and syringe drivers, BM5 patient monitor, Bovie electrosurgery cautery unit, tonopen, corneal algerbrush, equine power float, pregnancy test ultrasound, plus full range of surgical equipment and monitoring to perform most surgeries including orthopaedics.

Moranbah is a thriving community with a good range of shops, sporting clubs, gyms and places to eat (yes, we do have a McDonalds).  Moranbah is only a couple of hours from the coast and about 3 hours from the Whitsundays, as well as all the other opportunities and spots in the Central Highlands. There are several daily flights to Brisbane and we have a roster that allows time for these leisure activities to happen.

WE offer a good work life balance with weekly RDO’s, and time off as well for weekends worked. The roster is 1 in 4 for all after hours and weekends. We offer a generous salary package well above the award (please talk to us about what you would like), with regular increases (and no, you don’t have to ask for them), 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave and a contribution of $2500 to go towards CPD attendance. We offer VIN access and availability for all VetEd webinars.

You don’t have to just believe me, please ring our Clinic and ask to speak to Olivia or Ashley who would be working with you; that is the best guarantee I can give towards a good job with great support.

For anything else you would like to know please ring James Staunton on 0407 415 876

CHARLEVILLE, SOUTH-CENTRAL - MIXED New Graduates welcome

Here's an opportunity for a Vet to come and be my sidekick!
(Don't worry I'm no superhero and you can wear your undies on the inside!)

G'day I'm Dr Terri and I'm the owner and lead Vet of my very own vet hospital in Charleville in Queensland.
I'm looking for a Vet to come and be my sidekick!

The clinic is my pride and joy! Charleville is my home. I love the area and didn't want to live or work anywhere else.
The local community is incredibly important to me...
We really wanted to support it by providing a fantastic Veterinary service and travel further afield to some more remote areas that don't have the benefit of a 'vet in town'.

The clinic is very much a mixed practice. We care for horses, production animals, dogs and cats, the occasional camel, and other random wildlife too!
We love the variety and being able to care for a client's whole family of pets whether small or large!

The perfect sidekick would be someone:

Ideally, this won't be your first rodeo!
The role is best suited if you have a couple of years of experience under your belt.
That being said, if you are a new grad with a desire to learn a lot and a can-do attitude we should talk!

Pay is relative to the value and experience you bring. I'm a big believer we do an amazing job and that should be reflected financially for each of our team members.

Watch our video https://www.facebook.com/terrieckelveterinary/videos/472117430880186 and meet our team on our website https://www.tev.com.au/. Or you can check us out on and to learn a bit more about us.

So... if you think you might be the sidekick, I am looking for let's chat. Shoot me a text message at 0429 863 719 and we can arrange a time.

WARWICK, SOUTHERN DARLING DOWNS - SMALL ANIMAL

Small Animal Veterinarian WARWICK, Qld
CONDAMINE VETERINARY CLINIC

Amazing opportunity close to Brisbane, yet far enough away to enjoy the country life.

We feel this is the best small animal position available outside the major cities in Australia. Warwick is a small town which has great facilities and is close to Brisbane, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. The population of 13,500 is supported by excellent schools, medical and sporting facilities, 24 hour gyms and a growing cafe and artistic culture. Warwick is nestled on the attractive farmland of Queensland’s Darling Downs and there is close access to walking trails at the many nearby National Parks. There is a secure dog park situated alongside the picturesque Condamine River walk and a range of horse sports are active in the area. This is a fantastic place to raise a family and an affordable, relaxing place to live.

What really sets us apart is our boutique style practice with great staff and clientele; excellent facilities and equipment.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Preference will be given to an experienced vet who wishes to practice at the highest level possible outside of large referral centres. We need someone who has the knowledge and ability to handle cases well, work independently, develop the practice and look after our loyal clients and their pets as they would want their family looked after.

We know that there are some veterinarians who don’t know the obvious benefits of country living so to encourage them to look outside the square and embrace a tree-change we are offering a salary well above the award. This is an ideal position for an experienced veterinarian who would like to establish themselves in a growing small animal practice with the desire to have a long term future in the practice. However, it is also a very supportive practice, and we would be enthusiastic to mentor a new or recent graduate.

Condamine Veterinary Clinic is a growing practice where we care for our clients and their pets even better than we would expect someone to care for us and our pets. Our first priority is always to our staff who are the foundation of our 10 year old purpose-built small animal clinic and we all take pride in practising an excellent standard of medicine and surgery. Our clients are warm and friendly and our staff are all enthusiastic to develop both professionally and personally. We have a well-equipped (including digital radiography, ultrasound, 2 Stinger anaesthetic machines with monitors, iM3 dental unit and dental radiography, in-house Idexx laboratory, orthopaedic instruments, Vet’s Choice heated cages), relaxing yet professional work environment and a supportive and courteous culture based on good work ethic, communication and education.

Condamine Vets is a growing 3 veterinarian small animal clinic and we are looking for an assistant who would love the challenge of joining with us while we progress to the next stage. Equine and some large animal cases are all referred to our sister practice, Warwick Equine Vets, which allows for a sharing of knowledge and experience between the 2 practices when needed. This opens up the potential for some large animal practice if the successful candidate desired this.

Our clinic hours are 8-5pm Monday- Friday and 8.30-11 am Saturday. We do provide an emergency service outside of these hours which is shared within the practice. A full-time position including 4 weeks holidays and 1 week conference leave is preferred however conditions are negotiable.

EAST BUNDABERG, WIDE BAY BURNETT REGION - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Veterinarian required

Position for a motivated veterinarian who wants to work in a comfortable well-equipped air-conditioned purpose-built small animal veterinary hospital being supported by well trained and caring nursing staff as well as extensively experienced and qualified veterinarians.

We would encourage both experienced veterinarians and new graduate veterinarians to apply for this position.

We are a 3 veterinarian business wanting to expand. We enjoy a friendly relationship with our clients, and we have an exceptional reputation for excellence and for results. Our workload revolves around dogs (70%), cats (25%) and avian (5%).

We are NOT a corporate business, we are privately owned and operated. Our primary role is to assist animals in their journey of life as well as making sure we enjoy our professional life and balance it with time away from the business.

Please click here to see photos! photos

We believe that to offer a high level of animal care we must have the time to discuss problems with the owners as well as time to examine the patient and time to do appropriate tests or treatments and discuss the outcomes with the owners. Consequently, we do not “pump through” our clientele and their furry friends.

We believe coming to work must be enjoyable for all staff members and we encourage each member of the staff to achieve the level of expertise and comfort that they have set for themselves. We encourage further education for all our veterinary staff and that includes conference leave (when we can get to conferences) every year, webinars, seminars, discussion between vets, membership to organisations such as the AVA and VIN and extensive library material both on computers and well as books and journals.

We hold staff meetings every week and we have a vet meeting every morning before work where any problems or queries can be discussed and (hopefully) solutions found. We have active participation in our puppy preschool as well as dog walks every month and puppy reunions every 3 months.

Veterinary Science, to us, is a way of life and we are looking for that caring qualified person who wants to join our team and develop their professional and personal skills to a high level.

We could go on and on about the equipment and the hospital itself, we could go on and on about Bundaberg and the surrounding areas with all its facilities. But you can get all the information you need by going onto the internet at our site www.eastbundabergvet.com.au or www.bundabergregion.org or you could open up and look at our site or the Bundaberg tourism site

What are we offering to do for the successful applicant?

What do we want in return?

If you require more information, then please contact our manager and we can supply you with as much information as you need.

If you feel this position is right for you, please email your application to:-

LONGREACH, CENTRAL QLD - MIXED PRACTICE New Graduates welcome

Longreach Veterinary Service is seeking either an experienced or new-grad vet to join our growing team. LVS is a true mixed rural practice, servicing not only the companion, pastoral and equine clients, but also the extensive Northern Australian beef industry.

The clinic is a well-equipped mixed practice, with all the current diagnostic imaging and surgical equipment that is needed to service the wide variety of small and large animal caseloads. The relative isolation of LVS allows the opportunity for thorough medical and surgical work-up of cases which may not be possible if referral centres were closer. This being said, the client base is generally willing to consider referrals when advised.

Extensive work with both the pastoral and horse industries allows vets to pursue personal interests. This includes large-scale beef cattle production and herd-health (including pregnancy testing both manual and with ultrasound, bull testing and general herd health/disease consultation), and equine work (including seasonal repro work, ambulatory cases, surgery, colic’s, medicine cases, and extensive country race work).

Exposure to the extensive North Australian beef industry across the NT may be available to willing members of the team (season and work load permitting). This includes involvement with several corporate beef companies assisting with herd management, extensive pregnancy and bull testing.

Longreach is true western QLD town, with an excellent culture, atmosphere and opportunities. There are numerous sporting and social activities, daily flights to Brisbane and Townsville allows for a serve of urban culture when needed. Jumping straight into the deep end of activities in town is encouraged, with involvement with both the sporting AND social scenes is paramount to a healthy work-life balance!

Remuneration and associated package are negotiable; this includes a wage well above the award depending on experience ($70-$110k). Short term assistance with accommodation, shared afterhours (generally quite a manageable afterhours work load), relevant RDO’s, 4 weeks’ holiday leave plus 1 week assisted study leave annually. A well-equipped clinic car is available plus a fully paid equine dental course at EVDS*.

The only compulsory requirement of the successful applicant is to be willing to roll their sleeves up and jump straight into the supportive team environment we can offer. Team is the key word at LVS, with the new vet hopefully willing to fit into this and help expand and develop the clinic and services we provide.

Please email your resume and cover letter to the practice manager (ATTN: Laura) longvet@gmail.com or alternatively call the clinic on 07 4658 3838 with any questions.

NORTHERN QUEENSLAND - CATTLE VET New Position

Cattle Vet required: Northern Territory and Northern Queensland.

Are you interested in working and travelling over 25 million acres that one vet business covers, and servicing over 400,000 head of some of the best cattle Northern Australia has to offer?

A position has opened in an established growing business that supplies veterinary services to a significant number of the large corporate and private beef businesses across northern Australia.

Wass Veterinary Services supply the full array of veterinary services to these extensive stations, with the predominant work being accurate foetal ageing pregnancy diagnosis which is the backbone of these station’s management systems. Also, extensive veterinary bull breeding soundness exams, disease investigation, preventative programs and Willis speying makes up the cattle component of the business. Whilst on farm we also provide any other routine services required, such as a large number of equine dentals, castrations and repro work.

This position would suit somebody who not only wants to become part of the northern beef industry at a higher and more involved level than the occasional 200 cow PT job, but also somebody who desires to see large tracts of North Australia while getting paid accordingly. The right candidate could be preg testing joiner heifers on the Barkly one day and blood collecting export cattle on the Darwin Floodplains the next, in between catching Barra and attending the Brunette Downs Races.

Please click here to see photos! photos

The northern work is seasonal between April to late October, and the option for any interested candidate of spending the down time back in a mixed practice environment is an option in the business’ other interest; Longreach Veterinary Service in central-west Queensland.

The full job description is very flexible and negotiable depending on what the suitable candidate is hoping to achieve and the amount of work that is desired. Extensive travel is part of the job description, and thus the base/home for the candidate during the workload is open to discussion.

Remuneration is also open to negotiation but starting pay would be ~$100k for 6 months’ work and increasing from there.

Long term employment on a more permanent basis with the option of partnership discussions is one option, however, shorter term employment periods that suit the candidates own calendar and work program will be welcomed as well.

Immediate start is possible for the right candidate.

Please contact Toby Wass for all further discussion and questions. This business and employment opportunity are both very flexible and dynamic so personal communication will be best for all further information. Please email as phone is often unattended: wassvets@bigpond.com  or try 0427 827 795.
