The clinic comes with all the usual modern comforts including:
- CR digital x-ray (also portable) - IDEXX Procyte DX & Catalyst 1 blood machine
- Comprehensive inhouse lab facilities - IM3 dental machine
- 4 x Powerfloats for equine dentistry - RX Works

Our vets work a 1 in 5 rota for after hours and 9 day fortnights. We strongly believe support is vital to a long stint in the veterinary industry. We also strongly believe in CPD and encourage staff to pursue this. Our practice ethos prioritises patient outcome and client satisfaction over KPIs and quotas, something which is now very uncommon as more vet clinics are becoming corporate.
Remuneration is commensurate with experience and is obviously above award. For the right applicant, partnership opportunities will be available in the future. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit and enthusiastic group that thrives on our teamwork, support, experience and attitude.
If you have any questions in relation to this position please call Will Nason or Tim McClymont on 07 46 221015 or email romavetclinic@gmail.com. Also check us out at www.romavetclinic.com.au or on facebook.

ANDERGROVE, MACKAY - SMALL ANIMAL New position
There has to be more than this?
Is this what being a vet looks like?
What about Balance? Why do I get anxious?
How do I let go of the day that I have had so I don’t bring it home and can sleep without the worrying.
Are there teams out there that are nice to each other, support each other and have some fun?
Is work not meant to be fun?
There is no doubt that the veterinary landscape has changed and is constantly changing. Clients expect more and seem more stressed, teams more anxious and less emotionally connected. That can make any day challenging!

- You like to be busy! A quiet day every now and then to catch your breath is ok but you like a day that does not drag on. Purpose is good…it feels good.
- You are a social person who likes to interact with and appreciate not only your friends and family, but also the people who you work with. "People that play together stay together!"
- HOLIDAYS! They are part of our mental health plan- where is your next holiday? The airport is only a 20 minute drive away and JETSTAR/QANTAS AND VIRGIN ALL FLY FROM HERE! Bali for a relaxing holiday? NZ for a hiking or skiing holiday?
- You want to be appreciated for the effort you put in every day! You’re not high maintenance but you like to be part of a team that supports and appreciates each other and lets people know when they have done a great job.
- You also accept that not everything always goes to plan and a debrief and coaching chat about possible ways forward to make things better is also appreciated. You don’t like people who yell or use emotional manipulation as part of a management tool. You don’t mind feedback but as respect and integrity is part of who you are you feel this needs to be delivered appropriately.
- You have seen those new and shiny hospitals where everything has a place, everything is labelled, new and clean, maybe even double height ceilings so you can have a sense of space, it is purposely designed for work flow and is all sound proofed…and one day you promised yourself you would work in one.
- You’ve heard of or experienced the benefits of team consulting with dedicated consult nurses and no longer want to struggle to handle patients by yourself, or stay behind at the end of the day finishing consult notes.
- You don’t mind that the equipment breaks from time to time…but it is really hard to do your job if it does not get fixed or its just dodge.
- You want to learn…but with support. Not be left to your own devices out of your comfort zone- high and dry. You want to be more confident at working up medicine cases or maybe you have more of a surgical interest? Which would you prefer? Maybe a bit of both?
- Vet dinners: you have heard they are great fun and although you are not sure about your own cooking you are willing to give it a go! Talking about cases, learning about information someone got from a conference with a sprinkle of laughing and fun. That sounds good.
YOU CAN HAVE A BALANCED REWARDING CAREER…LET US SHOW YOU HOW!
Our package is well above award and above all - not only will we pay you well we will invest in you with our time, energy and resources to help you be the best version of yourself. The team’s wellness is our priority and if you are part of our team…that incudes you!

DEERAGUN, NORTHERN TOWNSVILLE - SMALL ANIMAL
Small Animal Veterinarian Position Available. Full Time/ Permanent Part Time
Before telling you about the veterinary role we have for you in Townsville, situated in the heart of North Qld, let me share with you some of the topics discussed around our dinner table over the years, particularly when Richard was a young practicing vet. These things remain incredibly important to us and are very much a part of our culture to this day:
- He wanted to feel supported – whether it was the most rudimentary procedure, or he was learning really complex medicine.
- He wanted to enjoy his day – every day when he walked into the practice, he wanted to feel safe in the knowledge that the entire team had his back.
- He wanted to be able to ask questions of the more senior nurses and vets, knowing that they would try really hard to make him feel valued while he continued to grow.
- He wanted to be paid well – we were saving for our future and our family. He needed to know that if he worked hard, he’d be rewarded for this.
- He wanted to be heard – He had lots of ideas about improvements the clinic could make to patient care, and it was so awesome when his ideas were taken seriously.
- He wanted to grow – He was interested in learning to be the best small animal vet he could be and loved it when he was given the opportunity to engage in further study or attend conferences regularly.

Do you want to work in a practice where we will schedule time to scrub in on your surgeries (if you want) or schedule time for another vet to go with you to a colic/calving/stitch up? Do you want to work in a practice where another vet will be there for you whenever you need them? We back each other up, learn from each other and we want to learn from you too!
- You have enough experience and you just want to get stuck in? Great! You can share your knowledge with us.
- On call - yeah we live in the country, we do on call. As a new grad we don’t ask you for any on call duties for the first 3 months. Then for the next 3 months one of the practice owners will ALWAYS be available to come in to help you. After that and forever onwards, there will always be someone available to back you up if needed. Experienced vets - we will work towards what you are comfortable with.
- You get paid 100% of the professional fees for after hours.
- 40 hour week for full timers, we schedule lunch breaks so you actually get them. As you should! Time off in Lieu is mandatory - you deserve it and you get it.
- We leave on time and that’s how we like it
- Flexible rostering - We have vets who compete regularly in horse riding competitions including eventing and campdrafting, Vets who are working mothers and Vets with lives and interests that mean that we all find ways to get time off when we want or need it.
Please click here to see photos!
What do we want?
- Due to another clinic in the local area closing, we are expanding and advertising again for another vet to join our team.
- A mixed practice veterinarian with a strong interest in equine work. Our equine caseload is growing and someone with a passion for equine work would be a huge asset.
- OR on the other hand, if you prefer small animal work but are happy to see the odd horse/cow/zebra that would also be great - it would free up one of our other vets to do more equine work.
- We do a lot of canine and equine reproduction work - we love it and we hope you might too.
- We have room for someone with a strong surgical interest if that’s your thing.
- We strive for the best standards and we aren’t here to cut corners. We love doing veterinary medicine to the best of our abilities. Continuing education is mandatory and paid for - pick your passion and run with it. We will back you.

TROPICAL INNISFAIL - SMALL ANIMALS
EXPERIENCED VET POSITION – BEAUTIFUL INNISFAIL, GATEWAY TO REEF AND RAINFOREST
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing”
Helen Keller
Ready to leave the big city rat race behind…?
Worried that such a move will be a backwards step professionally...?
What if you could have a rewarding career in tropical paradise…?
Right now, it seems like lots of people are looking to make a sea-change or a tree change having spent life in lockdown in the big cities…
And whilst the idea sounds great in theory, there is always the concern about whether that move might set you back professionally…
There is a price to everything… right…?
I’m Karen, owner of Coral Coast Vet Services…
Having been a Vet for the past 27 years (and a clinic owner for 17 of those years) I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way!
Here’s your opportunity to get out of the rat race and into the laid back existence of a northerner!
And with the opportunity to flourish professionally!
What you might want to know…
➢ It’s paradise both in and out of work…
We are a small animal practice with purpose built facilities and 3 experienced Vets on the team;
➢ We are flexible like yoga…!
We have the ability to roster so that our Vets can enjoy a life AND grow professionally;
➢ Fish don’t climb trees…
We encourage all our staff to work and further develop their zones of genius and special interests…
Work is more fun that way…
➢ We love thinking outside the box…
There’s nothing worse than becoming jaded by the ‘same ole, same ole’…
Our team are encouraged to challenge themselves and each other to find new, better ways to do what we do…
Everyone has a voice and a great idea to share!
➢ We all love to be rewarded…
Professionally, personally and financially we are about ensuring all our team are well rewarded.
But it’s a BIG decision Karen…
I understand completely!
Our service is not a job or career path but a way of life that allows us to serve our community and their pets…
We thrive on the feeling of becoming part of an extended family of both our team and our clients…
Not to mention a potential tropical lifestyle change.
So what I would suggest is this…
If this sounds like something you are keen to know more about then let’s make a time to have a chat…
I’ll tell you more about what we have going on…
You can ask me anything…
And by the end, if it sounds like something worth exploring further we can make plans from there…

And all my clients greet me as an old friend...
I just love what I do!
And now I'm looking for a fourth vet to love it as much as I do!

You'll be ideal for the role if:
- You are driven by personal growth and improvement...
- You are excited for some adventure...
- You are keen to practice somewhere outside the 'norm'...

Important details…
- You'll enjoy working an 8 day fortnight with one in four weekends on call...

WARWICK, SOUTH DARLING DOWNS - MIXED
Mixed Practice Veterinarian Positions Available – Warwick, QLD
Warwick Town and Country Vets is a well-established privately owned clinic, currently seeking to employ 2 mixed practice veterinarians. The position is very flexible and can either be full/part-time or casual. Experienced veterinarians, and or new or recent graduates will be considered for the positions with continued support and mentoring provided.
We are a small but dedicated team of 2 vets and 4 nurses, and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and practicing a high quality of veterinary medicine and surgery to our friendly and loyal clientele. You will be working in a friendly and relaxed environment with an experienced team of supportive staff. The clinic has a mix of approximately 80% small animals and 20% large animals (horses, cattle, sheep and goats).
Our veterinary hospital is equipped with modern technology including a digital x-ray machine, an ultrasound, a dental x-ray machine and im3 dental unit. We run Vision software which integrates with our in house IDEXX laboratory which consists of a lasercyte, catalyst one, coag analyser, vetlab urinalysis and microscopes. We have multiple fluid pumps for hospital and surgery patients. We have 2 anaesthetic machines and monitoring equipment. We have a power float for equine dentals.
Our clinic hours are 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturday and 9am to 12pm Sunday, and we provide an afterhours emergency service at all other times. Since extending our opening hours it has greatly reduced our afterhours work, but in saying that, it is still required as the nearest emergency centres are over an hour away. We do take some of the stress out of being the vet on call by having a great team of very experienced nurses who are on call with you, but most importantly they take and answer the afterhours phone which means that you will only get a call from the afterhours nurse if they need further advice or in an event of a true emergency. A work car is provided for on call use.
We have always been supportive of a great work-life balance and think that this is essential for a rewarding career in this profession; therefore, our rosters and hours are very flexible. You may like to work 2 days a week or 5 days a week or even just 1 week a month. Salary will be upwards of $120000pa + super depending on experience and the number of hours you choose to work (based on 40-hour week). An additional bonus will be paid after the initial 3 months once you decide that this is the job for you. You will be given 1 weeks paid study leave and $5000 to spend on continuing education in addition to 4 weeks holiday leave each year.

We are looking for:
- An enthusiastic mixed animal veterinarian that is just as happy to work in the clinic or out in the field.

- Be able to work well in a team and have a genuine care for your work colleagues.
- Have excellent communication skills with the team and clients.

- A veterinarian who is happy to call Warwick home and embrace the lifestyle of living away from the city and enjoy living in the local community.
- Pursuing special interests & fields are encouraged.
- Willingness to work extended and flexible hours when required (to cover staff holidays).
Warwick is a centre for mixed agriculture and is the largest service centre for the Southern Darling Downs. Warwick is situated approximately 2 hours west of Brisbane and 1 hour south of Toowoomba and has a town population of approximately 12000 people. Warwick has a range of retail stores from unique boutiques, great cafes and restaurants, and good shopping facilities. There is a vast range of sporting and recreational activities available.

I have been working as an associate vet at PVS for the better part of a year. I love working for a small business in which I am made to feel like a valued team member. I actually enjoy going to work and spending my day in a close-knit environment where we work hard and support each other to care for the animals and people of our community, rather than a corporate and just showing up to work to earn a paycheck.
As a vet at PVS I have the professional freedom to manage my cases as I see fit without micromanagement, but I also always have a colleague for a second opinion and support when needed. Being a country practice every day is different and a large proportion of our work is emergency work meaning I’m constantly learning and growing. I enjoy doing after-hours for the same reason; we share the after-hours with a nearby practice thereby reducing the frequency we have to do on-call work. On-call work is a good opportunity to make some extra money but has never been beyond what I could comfortably handle, averaging about 3 call outs per weekend day – Kelsey F – Veterinarian
About this role
You already have a pretty good idea as to the day-to-day requirements of being a talented and successful Veterinarian. Here are some of the key skills we are seeking that are particularly relevant to this opportunity:
- Examine and triage pets to promptly diagnose their short and long term health issues and recommend best practice emergency treatment;
- Consult with direct clients and referring clinics regarding immediate, solutions-based care for their pets;
- Soft tissue surgery at an advanced level – orthopaedic surgical expertise will also be highly regarded; and
- The ability to prepare and deliver internal Emergency and Critical Care skills training to the entire team.
After-hours service is essential. For work-life balance, we share this with the practice 22 km away. We have done this for over 25 years and continue to work well together as a team to support our region. You will find our after-hours remuneration is second to none.
About you
You should possess excellent communication skills, a high customer and patient focus and the ability to work well within a team environment.
The ideal candidate…
- Work effectively within a team
- Emergency work excites you
- Genuine care to build an excellent rapport with our clientele
- The ability and diligence to follow up your own cases
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude and eagerness to learn
- Active lifestyle driven
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science
- Current C class driver’s license
Our location
Proserpine offers a wonderfully unique place to live in the heart of the Whitsundays and provide options for all lifestyles. Within the Whitsundays, you will find the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether it be fishing and crabbing or sitting by the pool with a cool cocktail. The region is a bustling tourism mecca right alongside the farming community and has the city of Mackay within arms reach. This is an ideal area to live for those who enjoy a flexible lifestyle with a range of options for housing, schools, sports, activities and travel. People come to this world-class holiday destination and never leave.
Our clientele is a diverse range from retirees, primary producers, executives and everyone in between. Proserpine is known for its friendliness and kind-hearted community.
Our offer
What we offer in return…
- Salary package starts from $70,000 – $130,000 depending upon experience
- 1 weeks Continuing Education allocation to assist with your Career Growth
- Opportunity for a long-term career
- Opportunities for additional training in Leadership, Specialisation and Management
- A dynamic and supportive team environment
- Work-life balance is important to us
- The Whitsundays as your backyard to explore
And succession planning is there for the right candidate.
To assist with your relocation, we are eligible for the Government Rental Assistance Scheme and have a 2 bedroom airconditioned flat for your use.
It's time to apply
By now you have realised that Proserpine Veterinary Surgery is a genuinely unique environment and one that encourages quality and excellence in all that we do. This is very important to us, but harmony is equally important, as is ensuring a great working atmosphere where honesty through transparency builds trust. Now is the time for you to make the next step in your career and join us.

WARWICK - EQUINE - 2 VACANCIES
New Position
Equine Practice in Warwick, Southeast Queensland
TWO POSITIONS, one for an experienced equine practitioner or specialist, another for a new or recent graduate with a commitment to a career in equine practice and working with a dedicated team and one of Queensland’s foremost equine specialists.
WEV is an exceptional practice. Founded in 2012, our small team of over 3 FTE veterinarians provide dedicated boutique style equine services from a purpose-built facility outside of Warwick.
The practice was founded by Tias Muurlink, a specialist equine surgeon with extensive university and private practice experience. The case load is very varied and is currently biased towards lameness and surgery, both first opinion and referral. The practice also provides extensive reproductive services to some large-scale Thoroughbred farms in the area and assisted reproduction services in sport horses as well as more general equine veterinary services. Equipment and facilities are excellent, with comprehensive diagnostic, dental, anaesthesia and surgical equipment as well as hospitalisation, examination areas and surgical facilities for both standing and recumbent surgery.
We feel we have a great physical work environment but more importantly we pride ourselves on having a happy team atmosphere where all are working towards the best outcomes for our patients and clients. A very important part of achieving this are our exceptional nurses and support staff whom we value highly.
We have 2 positions available. To help cope with the heavy workload, we are seeking an experienced or specialist veterinarian. A good fit in our practice could be a young specialist or residency trained equine surgeon seeking to develop skills and experience alongside an experienced specialist surgeon, or a more independent specialist ready to help with and build on our current surgical caseload. We also have plenty of reproductive work available and a veterinarian experienced in this area would also slot in very well. Other special interests which would also complement our workload well include medicine, dentistry, anaesthesia, and imaging.
We are also seeking a new or recent graduate. We have transitioned over the years several young vets from university into capable equine vets. If you are in this category and may be interested in developing a career in equine practice, we can put you in touch with some vets who started their post graduate careers with us to give you an idea what we can offer in this regard. For this position we could tailor a job with our associate practices to include some cattle or small animals, if that was desired. However, the job would remain predominantly or exclusively equine.
We are keen to attract high standard people to these positions. Therefore, we will be happy to negotiate conditions and salary that will encourage veterinarians to join us and keep these individuals satisfied in their careers with us for the longer term. Equity in the practice would be available after a reasonable introductory period.
More information on the practice is available on our website: warwickequinevets.com.au and in our Newsletters (available on our website)
Enquiries will be treated in strict confidence and should be directed to in the first instance to: tiasmuurlink@warwickequinevets.com.au or mobile 0438 791 804.

INNISFAIL, CASSOWARY COAST - SMALL ANIMAL
Hi! I’m Karen, owner of Coral Coast Vet Services ...
Having been a Vet for the past 27 years (and a clinic owner for 17 of those years) I have had the privilege of helping many new graduate vets start their career right!
Watching someone develop professionally and personally has always given me a real buzz.
I love being a vet, even after 27 years of ups and downs ...
And I would love to pass on that love for an amazing profession to a lucky new graduate!
If you are looking for a supportive environment to flourish, where camaraderie and teamwork allows for the fulfilment of a job well done then this might be the place for you ...
As a small family practice, you get to do super cool stuff that the ‘big city’ practices may rarely see.
You will get to observe and play a crucial role in a wide variety of cases ...
And with 3 experienced vets at your beck and call, back up is always there when you come across a challenge that is new!
Please click here to see photos!
I could go on about how great we are but you are better hearing it from the team members who joined us as new graduates ...
Here is what a couple of them had to say about us:
“I started as a new grad from The Netherlands and experienced an ideal place to learn the job. Hands on, enough tools to work up more challenging cases, very friendly supporting staff with a low threshold to ask for back-up or advice.” Dr Vera Bavinck Drs, Drs, MVS
“I worked at Coral Coast Vet as a new graduate. I can honestly say I couldn't have asked for a more supportive boss and team to work with. Being a new graduate is challenging. It is imperative that you find a clinic owner who will not only offer you mentorship but who also understands the importance of your mental well being. Karen was definitely this person for me. Also Innisfail is a great place to begin your Veterinary career. You see a wide range of emergency, medical and surgical cases (and can to refer if necessary.)” Dr Kirsten Court BVSc
Both Vera and Kirsten have moved on to enjoy incredible careers in their fields of interest.
So, if you love the outdoors and the reef and rainforest is your thing, give me a call so we can discuss this opportunity that exists for us both.

EAST BUNDABERG, WIDE BAY BURNETT REGION - SMALL ANIMAL
East Bundaberg Veterinary Hospital - Veterinarian required
Position for a motivated veterinarian who wants to work in a comfortable well-equipped air-conditioned purpose-built small animal veterinary hospital being supported by well trained and caring nursing staff as well as extensively experienced and qualified veterinarians.
We would encourage both experienced veterinarians and new graduate veterinarians to apply for this position.
We are a 3-veterinarian business wanting to expand. We enjoy a friendly relationship with our clients, and we have an exceptional reputation for excellence and for results. Our workload revolves around dogs (70%), cats (25%) and avian (5%).
We are NOT a corporate business, we are privately owned and operated. Our primary role is to assist animals in their journey of life as well as making sure we enjoy our professional life and balance it with time away from the business.
We believe that to offer a high level of animal care we must have the time to discuss problems with the owners as well as time to examine the patient and time to do appropriate tests or treatments and discuss the outcomes with the owners. Consequently, we do not “pump through” our clientele and their furry friends.
We believe coming to work must be enjoyable for all staff members and we encourage each member of the staff to achieve the level of expertise and comfort that they have set for themselves. We encourage further education for all our veterinary staff and that includes conference leave (when we can get to conferences) every year, webinars, seminars, discussion between vets, membership to organisations such as the AVA and VIN and extensive library material both on computers and well as books and journals.
We hold staff meetings every week and we have a vet meeting every morning before work where any problems or queries can be discussed and (hopefully) solutions found. We have active participation in our puppy preschool as well as dog walks every month and puppy reunions every 3 months.
Veterinary Science, to us, is a way of life and we are looking for that caring qualified person who wants to join our team and develop their professional and personal skills to a high level.
Please click here to see photos!

LONGREACH, TROPIC OF CAPRICORN - MIXED
Longreach Veterinary Service is seeking either an experienced or new-grad vet to join our growing team. LVS is a true mixed rural practice, servicing not only the companion, pastoral and equine clients, but also the extensive Northern Australian beef industry.
The clinic is a well-equipped mixed practice, with all the current diagnostic imaging and surgical equipment that is needed to service the wide variety of small and large animal caseloads. The relative isolation of LVS allows the opportunity for thorough medical and surgical work-up of cases which may not be possible if referral centres were closer. This being said, the client base is generally willing to consider referrals when advised.
Please click here to see photos!
Extensive work with both the pastoral and horse industries allows vets to pursue personal interests. This includes large-scale beef cattle production and herd-health (including pregnancy testing both manual and with ultrasound, bull testing and general herd health/disease consultation), and equine work (including seasonal repro work, ambulatory cases, surgery, colic’s, medicine cases, and extensive country race work).
Exposure to the extensive North Australian beef industry across the NT may be available to willing members of the team (season and work load permitting). This includes involvement with several corporate beef companies assisting with herd management, extensive pregnancy and bull testing.
Longreach is true western QLD town, with an excellent culture, atmosphere and opportunities. There are numerous sporting and social activities, daily flights to Brisbane and Townsville allows for a serve of urban culture when needed. Jumping straight into the deep end of activities in town is encouraged, with involvement with both the sporting AND social scenes is paramount to a healthy work-life balance!
Remuneration and associated package are negotiable; this includes a wage well above the award depending on experience ($70-$110k). Short term assistance with accommodation, shared afterhours (generally quite a manageable afterhours work load), relevant RDO’s, 4 weeks’ holiday leave plus 1 week assisted study leave annually. A well-equipped clinic car is available plus a fully paid equine dental course at EVDS*.
The only compulsory requirement of the successful applicant is to be willing to roll their sleeves up and jump straight into the supportive team environment we can offer. Team is the key word at LVS, with the new vet hopefully willing to fit into this and help expand and develop the clinic and services we provide.
Please email your resume and cover letter to the practice manager (ATTN: Courtney) longvet@gmail.com or alternatively call the clinic on 07 4658 3838 with any questions.
