This full-time position is part of our Companion Animal Community (first opinion) Practice. The Community Practice Service hosts a mandatory 3-week rotation in wellness, general, and preventive care. This includes medicine, basic dentistry, surgery, and shelter medicine with the goal of exposing final year veterinary students to a high-quality general practice environment. The majority of the caseload is canine and feline, but interest in small mammals is encouraged. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, service to clients, and clinical teaching, as well as strong leadership and communications skills. This is a clinical role with an emphasis on clinical instruction and patient care in the hospital. Time not assigned to clinical instruction and patient care on clinical rotations will be devoted to classroom/laboratory teaching, scholarship, and service. The Salary Range for this role is at a Practicing/Senior Practicing Veterinarian grade (for 2024), ranging from $81,172-$143,949 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.

In this role, no two days are the same, and creativity is encouraged – you will be drawing on your clinical experience to help create learning scenarios, including homemade models, online learning materials, and interactive simulated patient scenarios. There’s also no on-call!
