Windsor Park Stud (NZ) seeks an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated veterinary surgeon for the 2025 southern hemisphere breeding season. The successful applicant will join and be supported by our existing resident vet providing care for the farm's bloodstock, with a primary focus on the breeding and foaling units. Veterinarians on staff at the Vet Associates Equine Hospital in Karaka include two board-certified surgeons and a board-certified internist, all of whom are readily available to provide backup and support for all members of the practice and also welcome referrals to the hospital.

Equine Veterinarian - Combined Medicine/Ambulatory

Veterinary Associates Equine is a progressive general and referral practice with a hospital located in Karaka, South Auckland, New Zealand and satellite practices in Kumeu, West Auckland, and Warkworth, North Auckland. We are looking for an equine veterinarian with a background in managing medicine and critical care cases to join our team. The position is a combined role between our medicine team and our ambulatory team and is designed to provide coverage both in the field and in the hospital. The after-hours work will be shared with two other medicine clinicians, including one ACVIM-LA Diplomate, and involves the management of hospital patients admitted through the medicine service. The daytime work will consist of a mixture of general first-opinion field work and assistance in the shared care of our medicine caseload, both in the hospital and in the field.

This position would suit either a non-specialist with experience working in a hospital setting or a board-certified or residency-trained equine internist with an interest in providing both general and referral services in the field and in the hospital. Should the medicine caseload continue to grow and develop, there may be scope for this role to focus more on those cases.

Members of the medicine service contribute to our practice culture through participation in regular team meetings, topic rounds, journal club, and team-building activities. Involvement in the training and mentorship of our interns is a key component of the role. This full-time, ongoing position is part of our Companion Animal Community (first opinion) Practice. The Community Practice Service hosts a mandatory three-week rotation in wellness, general, and preventive care. This includes medicine, basic dentistry, surgery, and shelter medicine with the goal of exposing final year veterinary students to a high-quality general practice environment.

The majority of the caseload is canine and feline, but interest in small mammals is encouraged. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to excellence in patient care, service to clients, and clinical teaching, as well as strong leadership and communications skills. This is a clinical role with an emphasis on clinical instruction and patient care in the hospital. Time not assigned to clinical instruction and patient care on clinical rotations will be devoted to classroom/laboratory teaching, scholarship, and service.

The salary range for this role is at a Practicing/Senior Practicing Veterinarian grade (for 2025), ranging from $83,201-$147,548 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.

The School of Veterinary Science at Massey University invites applications for the position of Practicing Veterinarian in Farm Animal Health based in the mighty Manawatū of New Zealand. This is a permanent, full-time role. You must hold a veterinary degree registrable in New Zealand and have clinical experience.

The position is suited to an experienced farm animal clinician with a strong dairy focus and a passion for teaching undergraduate veterinary students.

Experience and interest in preventative medicine, meat hygiene and state veterinary medicine is an advantage for this role. Previous experience designing and leading new curriculum and learning content is also desirable. You will provide clinical services to clients of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (primarily dairy cattle, but also other production animal species) and develop/deliver clinical teaching to undergraduate students during practicals, tutorials and on-farm visits.

Our team of veterinarians, nurses and grief counsellors support clients with palliation, quality of life assessments and in-home euthanasia services. We are looking to build a small team of compassionate veterinarians in Auckland to bring this important service to families across the region.

🔎 What We’re Looking For 🔎

✔️ A caring, empathetic vet with strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
✔️ At least 2 years’ experience in the veterinary industry
✔️ Veterinarians looking to either compliment their current GP role or join on a consistent basis
✔️ A valid driver’s licence and presentable vehicle 
✔️ A passion for palliative care and client communication

As an End-of-Life Care Veterinarian, you'll have the opportunity to:

✔️ Provide in-home euthanasia services within a set radius of your home, with a focus on providing comfort, compassion and a meaningful experience that the family will never forget.
✔️ Guide families through quality-of-life discussions, helping them make informed, collaborative decisions for their pets.
✔️ Optional: conduct palliative care consultations to manage pain, mobility, symptoms of disease and overall comfort for elderly and terminally ill pets.

Wanganui Veterinary Services and Vets on Carlton are seeking a Companion Animal Veterinarian for a full-time position. VETS on Carlton is a 3 vet urban practice in a modern, purpose-built, fully equipped clinic, whilst Wanganui Veterinary Services is a Mixed Animal practice with a varied and exciting workload all set in beautiful Wanganui. This position will start with a broad and mentored exposure to different aspects of mixed veterinary practice, before settling into a more permanent and predominantly companion animal role at Vets on Carlton.

After-hours is shared equally on a 1 in 10 rota between the ten veterinarians from Wanganui Veterinary Services and Vets on Carlton.
