CENTRAL TABLEANDS, LITHGOW - SMALL ANIMAL VET

GREAT OPPORTUNITY for one lucky Vet!

Hi I'm Michelle and the proud owner of Lithgow Veterinary Hospital.

Recently I had some pretty sad news...

My long standing Vet of more than 12 years is taking an extended break from being a vet and taking the opportunity to travel and visit family now the borders are finally open.

The GOOD NEWS is that this presents an opportunity for a Veterinarian to come and be part of our amazing team. I'm looking for a partner in crime, a comrade!

I'm pretty proud of Lithgow Veterinary Hospital and our team...

It's fair to say it's 'my baby'. I did work experience here when I was 13, progressed to working here as a nurse until I went to Qld Uni, did my first 2 new grad years here and made the decision to buy it 13 years ago!

What a ride and what a change I have seen in the profession in those 33 years.

Over this time we have worked hard to build an amazing team culture based on the values of Respect, Honesty, Compassion and us all being Team players.

I'm SUPER passionate about animals. They have been a major part of my life and so our focus has been on helping our clients enjoy their pets and helping their pets enjoy happy healthy lives.

And I think we've been pretty successful. Recent independent survey of our clients scored us 95/100. We don't simply say we care, we show we care.

Aside from being an amazing team with the best clients the other benefits we enjoy are...

This would be perfect for the Vet who...

If what you have read really speaks to you and you are keen to learn more, then shoot me a message or give me a call on 0403 565 705 or email me on mjmon1@yahoo.com.au. We can organise a time for a chat.

Ask me anything you like and I can tell you more about who we are and what we do.

I'm sure if the opportunity is a good fit we will both know it! Cant wait to talk to you.

CENTRAL TABLEANDS, LITHGOW - SURGEON

CALLING ALL SURGEONS..

WELL DO I HAVE THE JOB FOR YOU!!!!

The GOOD NEWS is that this presents an unique opportunity for a Veterinarian to come and be part of our amazing  team. I'm looking for a partner in crime, an amigo, someone that compliments our strengths.

We are a flexible, amazing team that realises that in this day and age being a vet can mean many things and that to be happy in this profession you don’t need to be everything to everyone.

I love consulting, I love connecting with clients but to be honest I'm not a huge fan of surgery. I can do it but it just doesn’t float my boat.

Then the pieces of the puzzle finally fitted in.

BE YOURSELF, do what you love and build a clinic based on peoples strengths and passions rather than based on society’s model of what a vet should be.

See I really love being in a smaller clinic with a family feel, where I get to really know my clients and see the difference I make to their lives. I realised early on that I did’t want to be part of a 6-8 vet team where I lose the ability to do lots of different things and become just a money generating machine.

I wanted to be me, and surround myself with like-minded staff and clients that made me feel that I was part of something more.

Recent independent survey of our clients scored us 95/100. We don't simply say we care, we show we care.

If what you have read really speaks to you and you are keen to learn more, then shoot me a message or give me a call on 0403 565 705 or email me on mjmon1@yahoo.com.au. We can tee up a time for a chat.

Ask me anything you like and I can tell you more about who we are and what we do.

I'm sure if this unique opportunity is a good fit we will both know it! I can’t wait to talk to you.

GRIFFITH, RIVERINA - MIXED ANIMAL - EXPERIENCED OR NEW GRAD New Graduates welcome

Full Time Veterinarian Required – 7 vet practice
Small animal (90%) Large animal (10%)

Yoogali Veterinary Centre, situated in the centre of the Riverina, is seeking a passionate veterinarian to join our growing, 7 veterinarian, mixed practice team.

Since March ’19 we have been operating from a new, purpose built, state of the art Veterinary Hospital, with four consulting rooms (one of which functions as a grieving room with separate exit from the hospital), surgical suite with two operating tables, dental suite, a large treatment area, and separate cat and dog wards. We also have two on-site horse stables, with equine crush. The hospital is well equipped with all the toys you would expect from a top-quality veterinary hospital, including ultrasound, digital radiography, full Idexx lab, IM3 dental machine, dental radiography, vet-tome, orthopaedic equipment, electrosurgical unit, cryosurgery, pulse oximeter, ETCO2, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, endoscopy, tonometry, power float, patient warming systems- what more could you want!

Please click here to see photos! photos

We pride ourselves on trying to deliver gold standard treatment whenever possible, and our hospital is constantly evolving and looking for areas we can improve. With our nearest referral centres 2-3 hours away, there is ample opportunity to work up and follow through on a variety of complex cases.

Our vets work four days per week with one night on call during the week. Weekends are shared equally between our vets and consist of one Saturday shift from 8:00 to 12.30pm, with the remainder of the weekend on call. This roster allows plenty of time to explore this beautiful region and enjoy yourself!

Our hospital encourages a good work-life balance, and the practice owner tries hard to create an environment where burnout is prevented. Our vets are entitled to (and encouraged to take) a one-hour lunch break each day, and we avoid scheduling consultations between 12.15pm and 2:30pm to ensure staff have enough time to have lunch and finish writing up morning consults. Our last consultations for the day are scheduled at 5:30pm, allowing enough time to finish up and get home on time (most of the time!).

We are looking for a keen, team-oriented veterinarian, who wants to work in a professional, and supportive. Our ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably more but capable new graduates are also encouraged to apply. Special interests in surgery would be highly regarded (but are not essential).

Should you be interested, there is the opportunity to buy into the practice in the future.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, well above award, and regularly reviewed. All the usual entitlements to holidays and study leave apply. Continuing education is encouraged, and any special interests will be actively supported.

We are a friendly team, who regularly share baked treats, homegrown produce and spend time together outside of work drinking wine, bushwalking and horseriding.

Griffith is a fast-growing regional centre, surrounded by culture, wineries, and fantastic food. There is an airport which operates flights to and from Sydney and Melbourne each day. For the athletically inclined, there are local teams for nearly every sport, and the Cocoparra National Park is just around the corner!

To apply for this position, or for further information, please contact Dr. Kim Martel, the practice owner/manager, by phone or email. We are also happy to put you in touch with any of the associate veterinarians (past and present!), if you’d like to hear of their experiences at this practice.

Clarence Valley Vet Clinic is looking for a 3rd vet to join our team. We will even consider taking on 2 new graduates if a suitable experienced vet can't be found, so you could potentially bring a friend from uni and start your careers together.

WOLLONGONG - SMALL ANIMAL & EXOTIC PRACTICENew Graduates welcome

Caring for and learning about animals of many types, developing relationships with clients and their animals, and sharing the joy of a successful outcome - that’s what makes my day rewarding. What makes doing this at Cannon & Ball Vets extra special is the team I work with.

Although we pride ourselves on our professional conduct, we can guarantee plenty of laughs, nurses and vets with wicked senses of humour, a bloody good 10/10 support network in and out of work and some bad dad jokes. Add to this continual learning to broaden the skills of nurses and vets alike and ample opportunity to use these skills, while seeing a great range of different species. The cherry on the top - lots of food and cake and friends that enjoy a coffee inside and out of work.

We need a new vet to share in our fun. We don’t mind what level of experience you bring – as long as you share our passion for all of the above and the veterinary industry.

25% of our case load is made up of pet birds, reptiles, rabbits and rodents.  Four of our vets have MANZCVS qualifications in Avian health.  One of the owners spends half his week working in zoos – and sometimes brings us wonderful creatures to play with.

The clinic has been established in the local area for more than 30 years and our clientele are awesomely loyal great people who love their pets and know we do too.

I am a Certified Canine Rehabilitation therapist (vet) and with the help of my certified rehab assistant (nurse) we are growing our canine rehab department to complement the clinic’s other services.

We have all the bells and whistles most small animal practices have – with access to a mobile specialist surgeon and mobile veterinary ultrasonographer for the tough cases. The nearest referral centre is only an hour away and we have a local emergency centre to divert after hours work to.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our opening hours are 8am – 6:30pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm Saturday.  We can offer flexibility in hours worked – part time or full time. Salary is dependent on the skills and experience you bring, above award and includes access to continuing education and a veterinary industry specific employee wellness program.

If you are Interested or want to know more - please give me a call on 0403 282 285 or email kim@cbvets.com.au

WARRAWONG, WOLLONGONG - SMALL ANIMAL

We at Warrawong Veterinary Clinic are unfortunately in dire need of a Veterinarian Assistant. Due to two of our very valued staff having to leave we have been left with one aged vet, me, and 3 wonderful experienced previous staff lending a hand to help us out as permanent casuals.

I established the practice over 40 years ago, only 5 kilometres from my childhood home. The practice therefore has developed as a very family orientated organisation.

We are generally very busy with a vast array of patients and problems. Mostly Dogs and Cats, some Birds but a fair spattering of Pocket Pets, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and all the Reptiles – none venomous. I developed an interest in native animals many years ago and we see a few a month to keep up the joy.

We have most of the equipment desired – in house idexx pathology, ultrasound with access to visiting specialist ultrasonographer, orthopaedic equipment with a visiting specialist surgeon for more difficult problems, automatic processor etc. What is expected now was non-existent when we kicked off.

Having graduated in an era where the Uni was the only referral many surgical procedures are accommodated and encouraged to try.

Wollongong has blossomed from a Steel City to a service centre for the South Coast. The pollution has gone. The gutters no longer rust and the beaches are all pristine.

The surf and the bush are only minutes away. It’s a three minute drive to the best of our beaches at Port Kembla.

Our new employee, as mentioned, would be welcomed with great delight. The position would be a 9 day fortnight. If any weekend day is worked then a weekly day off is earned. Consulting is morning and afternoon with time 2 to 4 hours for surgery if scheduled, in the middle of the day.

The staff are all good mates, spending time out of work hours socialising. Most of the nurses work part time giving time for family activities/emergencies or sport/hobbies etc.

We are small enough that any difficulty professionally is shared and usually can be nutted out.

If needed Sydney’s south is less than an hour away by road. The CBD could be and extra hour, with the traffic being why we are situated here. The train now takes half the time it did in the beginning. But Wollongong with over 250,000 happy souls has seen the town develop everything you could desire.

Hopefully, if interested, please call. Colin Pinney, 02 4274 6155 or 0421 950 918 or warrawong.vetclinic@yahoo.com.au

What we are looking for:

An additional team member, either recent graduate or experienced vet, seeking the chance to further develop excellent all round clinical skills (and perhaps more advanced surgical skills), wanting the opportunity to work for an experienced practitioner who not only has these skills himself but also a keen interest in supporting less experienced vets in their journey to develop theirs.

We are looking for someone that value’s honesty, integrity, respect and a supportive environment who is flexible, adaptable and professional, possesses excellent communication skills, a positive can-do attitude and self-awareness.

A vet with sound up to date theoretical knowledge, demonstrated clinical skills, a dedication to continued learning and the willingness and drive to expand their abilities in all aspects of clinical practice.
A vet who is passionate and genuinely likes helping people and their pets to achieve the best outcome.

Team Member Testimonial.
Working at WQVH has been everything I hoped for in my New Graduate job. Whilst being busy and challenged (during the very challenging year of 2020!), I have been supported every step of the way both personally and in my professional development. The hours are very fair and the salary is rewarding. Additionally, I have been able to manage a great work life balance this year, which is not something many Veterinarians can say! As a team, we believe in evidence-based learning and providing exceptional care. We fulfil this ethos by regularly updating our equipment and facilities and having regular staff meetings to improve our protocols. I know I will continue to grow as a Veterinarian and as a person at this practice. WQVH is not just a vet clinic but a fun, supportive community who care tremendously about clients, their pets and anything else that comes through the doors. I would choose WQVH ten times over and recommend it to any new graduate or experienced vet.

Our team has recently been awarded ASAV Hospital of Excellence Accreditation. We are very proud to be held to some of the highest standards of health care services and facilities and are in company with just 11 other accredited Hospitals of Excellence in NSW.

We are a long established mixed animal practice, situated in the Hunter Valley. The caseload is 98% small animal and 2% large animals (mostly hobby farms cattle, sheep, goats, and alpacas). We love to work collaboratively as a team, and all staff at CVH are enthusiastic, helpful and committed to providing the best service for our patients and clients. It is a particularly supportive environment where everyone aims to share their knowledge and expertise, and there is always someone to bounce ideas with when working up more complicated cases. Our nursing team is fantastic, and the overwhelming majority of our staff have been with us for many years and they are quick to embrace any new addition to our contingent.

There is a big focus on work/life balance and having the time to enjoy and explore all that this beautiful region has to offer, from wineries to whale watching. With both Sydney (90min) and the beaches of Newcastle (40min) easily accessible by car you’re never far from city culture. Our team members have a variety of interests and will be sure to get you hooked into something fun, whether it’s mountain biking or road riding, trail walking, horseriding golf or even just brunch! There are many great café options for your morning coffee, and there is always someone keen for dinner after work.

After hours and weekend work is shared among the vets, and with four practice principles, there is always support and assistance available. No small animal after hours (with minimal large animals less than 1 per month) as phones are diverted to a referral emergency centre. We work on a rotating roster, where we share the surgery, medicine, consulting and branch clinics.

Continued education is highly encouraged and generously supported financially, including study leave and course costs. Conditions are accommodating and negotiable, depending on what you can bring to the practice. The perfect fit for our hospital will be someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys a varied caseload and who appreciates teamwork.

Our current associates will be more than happy to have a chat with interested applicants regarding both their experience working at CVH and what the Hunter Valley has to offer. We encourage interested applicants to come visit our hospital, enjoy a coffee and chat with our team and take a drive around the surrounding vineyards.

BANGALOW, BYRON SHIRE - SMALL ANIMAL/EMERGENCY - WEEKENDS

Is it time to make a sea change?

Confident Vet Needed for Small Animal Weekend-only Emergency Clinic in the Byron Shire

About This Role
We need a level headed confident vet who has the ability to multitask. On many of the shifts you will be in sole charge, with the support of experienced nurses. You will need to be a reasonably confident surgeon for things like foreign body removal, though more difficult cases can be referred to another emergency service an hour away. You will not be expected to perform any orthopaedic work. Ultrasound skills are a bonus: we can teach some basic emergency uses if you are not familiar.

About Us
We started in 2015 with a mission to raise the standard of after-hours care in our area whilst providing a fun, professional and progressive workplace where everyone has room to learn and grow. Our vision is to create a 24-hour after hours service - we’re not quite there yet, but currently run 24 hours from Friday night to Monday morning and all the public holidays.

Our Location
We’re about 10 minutes from Byron Bay, in the beautiful hinterland town of Bangalow, serving all of the Northern Rivers. The landscape is beautiful, the people are friendly and their pets very much part of the family.

About You
We truly believe that everyone has something different to offer to our team and it’s more important to us to find the right person to join us than to have all the skills from day one. So, even if you’re a GP vet who hasn’t worked in an emergency clinic, we can teach you about the differences. It can be busy and chaotic at times, so we need someone level-headed with a can-do attitude. You’ll have the support of a fun, friendly and motivated team with you and the benefit of an enviable work-life balance to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the world when you’re not working. Work hard, play hard is the theme.

How to Apply
We have flexible shifts on offer so, if you feel you align with our values and are looking for a change then get in touch. Please contact Dr Ailsa Rutherford

LEURA, BLUE MOUNTAINS - SMALL ANIMAL
blue mountains logo

Blue Mountains - Weekdays are for hiking, biking, canyoning and meditating - Permanent Part-Time / Casual Weekend, after-hours Vet

Located in the charming village of Leura, just 90 minutes from Sydney CBD, Blue Mountains Animal Health (BMAH) is an after-hours emergency, small animal clinic servicing several clinics in the mid and upper Blue Mountains area.

We are looking for a Permanent Part-Time or Casual Veterinarian who is interested in working in the beautiful Blue Mountains. The region is renowned as a haven for hiking, rock-climbing, canyoning, mountain biking, horse-riding, photography, yoga and meditation, and more generally for a culture of work-life balance.

BMAH is a joint venture clinic providing after-hours emergency services to several local veterinary clinics. The joint venture clinics have traditionally rostered their veterinarians to cover the BMAH after hours shifts, but BMAH has now grown to a point where permanent veterinarians are being sought to cover the weekend shifts and help continue to grow the practice.

A weekend on-call shift typically runs from Friday night to Monday morning (excluding Saturday mornings 8:30-12:30), with the veterinarian being on-call i.e., answering the emergency phone and then attending on any genuine emergency cases or in-hospital patients needing to be treated after hours.

This is a sole-charge position with an experienced nurse always on call. The nurse is on the premises during the day to help with in-patients and is available to transport critical cases to a 24hours facility if required.

Back-up is available from the local referring veterinarians where necessary.

The caseload is exciting and rewarding and is very manageable for one on-call vet. We have a lovely client-base who are particularly appreciative of our local vet emergency services.

The frequency of shifts can be customised to suit the candidate’s individual needs and to optimise his/her work-life balance.

Remuneration is attractive and includes a set weekend wage, as well as the use of on-site accommodation and of a car.

If additional work is desired, then additional weeknight on-call shifts are available. We can also help organise day shifts at one of the participating local clinics.

If working in and exploring the Blue Mountains sounds like something you might be interested in, please send your CV to contact@bluemountainsanimalhealth.com.au
