CURRIMUNDI, SUNSHINE COAST - SMALL ANMIAL New Position
ARE YOU A VET LOOKING FOR MORE? THE NEXT 2 MINUTES COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE.Hello, we are Doctor Retief Botha, and Nurse Sue Botha, we are the owners, and we head the team at Currimundi Vet Clinic (In our humble opinion the best clinic on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia – and possibly the world [only joking]).
I grew up in South Africa, and spent many days on cattle, sheep and wildlife farms. The outdoor life, and fun and adventure, is in my blood. This was also the start of my love and fascination for animals. I did work experience at a vet clinic while at school, and I was hooked. Fast forward to working in Small Animal clinics in the UK, and then moving to Australia, and becoming clinic owners. We are as passionate as ever, and excited to keep creating an amazing working environment for our team, and a place of trust for our clients.
Sue, always wanted to be a vet nurse and started her nursing training at the age of 16. She grew up in the UK, working in London and mixed practice in Kent. Let’s just say Sue has a few years of experience now. And was once nominated as one of the best vet nurses in the UK.

We are searching for a new vet to join our family practice
The small animal position, would be perfect for you if:
- You thrive in a job that provides variety: an even spread of consulting, medicine and surgery work within the clinic
- Like to be paid an amazing salary? With profit share for the right person. Be rewarded for your efforts.
- Crave an experience where you are truly experiencing a work/life balance – our business hours are 8am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Alternate Saturday mornings and NO AFTER HOURS.
- Desire a beach lifestyle, but one where its only an hour to Brisbane airport?
- You enjoy clients that enable you to work up cases where financial constraints are less of an issue?
- Have a thirst for knowledge and continuing education?
Sounds like this could be for you? Then read on…
This opportunity is for someone who doesn’t necessarily have to have an abundance of industry experience, but rather someone who has a passion for being a veterinarian and embraces a lifestyle clinic and location.
Here is a chance to join a practice where you are able to undertake small animal vet work. Our team is cohesive, well trained and has a ‘can do’ attitude. The potential to upskill and give anything a go will be limited only by your imagination.
On a personal note, I didn’t realise at the time I first purchased the clinic, but looking back now I see that I had clear motives:
- Work together leading a team that provides a high quality and well rounded service to the local community
- Create a workplace that staff truly enjoy, where they want to come to work every day
- Compensate staff generously
- Work life balance is essential
Ask yourself - what is holding you back from something better?
Here’s what we think makes this job so exciting:
- Beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia
- 2-4 day work week
- Base salary with potential for profit share
- NO AFTER HOURS. Yes, you read that right. None.
The team can provide references upon request, so don’t take my word for it, ask them for yourself!
If you reach out to have a chat know that our conversation will be kept completely confidential.
Email us at info@currimundivet.com.au It takes 2 minutes out of your day, and it could just turn out to be the best thing you have ever done.

BRISBANE - SMALL ANIMAL
Part-time Primary Care Veterinary position flexible hours to suit school/daycare pick up– Experienced Vets (2+ years) with the desire to build strong client relationships and perform full Medical condition workups.
Primarily consulting position at Forest Lake Vets with option for surgical day at Centenary Vets Middle Park which is an incredibly well-equipped Primary Care Hospital. Our practice employs Vets of varied levels of experience and are currently seeking a 2+ years experience Veterinarian to fulfil a vacant role. Salary Packages (inc. super and continuing ed) commensurate with ability and negotiable.
Our driving philosophy is to Improve Vets' work conditions in areas like remuneration, conditions, happiness, skills with modern Veterinary diagnostic equipment, and meeting the pet care needs of exceptional clients
We have worked hard over the last 7 years to develop a workplace that is designed to support our Vets and provide a job that is “normal”. We are more interested in Our Veterinary Staff having the support, opportunities and conditions that exist in other professions and can be hard to find in Vet.
Our Staff
All have a desire to make their place of work exceptional and to work with other exceptional people. We encourage Staff to improve their skills and want their Job to mean something. For Us a stable work environment is key - this is what we staff to and schedule to.
Our Clients
Our clients support a 90% case work-up rate with >50% revisit ratios - makes for a truly unique working environment. There are 30 minute Consults with an occasional 20 minute requirement. Work pace is planned and the practice is staffed to be run at a steady pace with the occasionally busy period. Nurse support is exceptional with 1-2 Cert 4 Nurses available per Vet.

Centenary Vet Hospital works out of new premises built to Hospital accreditation as of August 2015. We have a dedicated positive pressure Surgery and dedicated Dental and Imaging room. We work hard to have an environment that Clients and Staff want to be in.
Our Goals are to improve the Veterinary Landscape
We want to work primarily with Clients that also want accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Our staff (particularly Vets) only work what they are employed to work. We promote good health support (physical and mental) and aim to improve wages to compete with other industries.
At Centenary Vet Hospital and Forest Lake Vets, Veterinary Staff are paid for hours worked; paid market rates well above award; have access to HR and support structures; and we provide whatever is needed to work professionally and happily. If your current job has too many speys, too difficult a culture, too many difficult Clients, too little support or growth opportunities, and too few interesting Medical Cases, then this position will suit you.

BROADBEACH, GOLD COAST - SMALL ANIMAL
Permanent Full Time Position, GOLD COAST.
ASAV Accredited Hospital of Excellence.
Do you want to practice vet science the way you always dreamt it would be?
Come and work in a family owned, independent clinic that is the Gold Coast’s only ASAV accredited Hospital of Excellence, and experience the difference…
We believe that working with dedicated pet owners who have the financial capacity and enthusiasm to say yes to our recommendations is key to practising rewarding veterinary science. Over the last 18 years our family owned practice has focused on achieving this – we have actively promoted and encouraged pet insurance and we now have a very high percentage of insured pets, consistently one of the highest in the country according to industry benchmarking surveys that we participate in. We are also blessed to work in a very good socioeconomic area where people seek out the best possible care for their pets and we have worked hard on attracting and retaining these types of clients. As a result we have very few of those dreaded financial discussions with owners, get the opportunity to treat a wide variety of conditions and feel the satisfaction of seeing patients have an improved quality of life.
Over the years our clinic has built a reputation of caring and excellence in patient outcomes and we have built a client base that trust us. This leads to both personal satisfaction and job satisfaction and improved overall wellbeing for all of our team. And a successful team is a happy team. It doesn’t happen by chance, but we work hard to create a pleasant working environment with a good team culture. We only employ Cert IV qualified vet nurses & Vet Techs so that you can trust in their abilities and let nurses do genuine patient nursing, freeing you up to focus on vet tasks. With a multi-vet team, on only one site, and two very experienced clinic owners who are always happy to mentor and support you, we strive to provide a very supportive environment. We will always back our team and step in to help resolve any client complaints or concerns, leaving you free to focus on your clinical work.
To achieve good clinical outcomes you not only need a supportive environment, but one needs good facilities and up to date, quality equipment. As the Gold Coast’s only ASAV accredited Hospital of Excellence you can rest assured that we are well equipped with all the toys needed to achieve good clinical outcomes. Being accredited means that all that we say about ourselves is not just marketing catch phrases. Our records, protocols, equipment and standards have all been independently assessed and found to meet the accreditation standards, and every 4 years we have been independently inspected. Not only do our building facilities have to be up to scratch, but there is a stringent list of expected equipment that we are required to have and keep well maintained, and it is a given that we are also expected to look after our team.
Please click here to see photos!
But to join our team you don’t have to be a “superstar vet” - none of us are perfect, so please don’t expect that of us! We are looking for a dedicated vet who strives to do their best, who shows empathy and believes that compassion and client communication are key to successful outcomes. We want a vet who wants the support to keep on improving, no matter what stage of their career they are at. At Gold Coast Vet Surgery we pride ourselves on offering good support and mentorship. Not only is CPD is encouraged and funded, but our package includes membership of Lincoln Institute’s “Leading Edge” program and access to VIN. Your opinion will be considered and your contributions truly appreciated. As a compassionate, family orientated business you will work alongside the owners who understand your workload and challenges and there is no corporate head office to deal with.
As a family owned, independent practice we pride ourselves on our family friendly approach. Not only are our team a part of our family, but we also view our clients as a part of the extended Gold Coast Vet Surgery family. We value a healthy lifestyle as well as being great vets, so there are no after hours or Sunday work and family friendly business hours (8am – 5:30pm Mon to Fri and 8:30am – 12pm on Saturdays). We have a referral hospital and two after hours emergency centres on the Gold Coast (soon to be two referral hospitals & three after hours centres!) which means that despite not working after hours ourselves, you’ll still have the peace of mind that your patients will be very well cared for after hours.
If you strive to provide the best care that you can for your patients, enjoy making a difference in people’s experience at the vet, and are proud to provide great customer service as part of a fun team, then this is the position for you. Our practice attracts clients who expect and appreciate a caring, thorough and yet practical approach. If you are looking for job satisfaction, like to work up cases and like to develop a personal relationship and rapport with your clients, then you will flourish in our “family”.
Our lovely vet, who is sadly leaving to return to the UK, said that “This is the best practice that I have ever worked in. I love that the schedule is so well managed to give you enough time with the clients, time & support to work up cases and enough time to write up your notes and still leave on time at the end of the day with everything done.”
To develop, grow and progress your career to become the best vet that you can be, apply now by emailing Dr Kevin & Dr Fiona Cruickshank at: vet@goldcoastvet.com.au with your resume and a covering letter outlining why this is the position for you. If you are the right fit for our team you may be very pleasantly surprised with what we are offering.
Absolute confidentiality is assured.

ALBANY CREEK, MORETON BAY REGION - SMALL ANIMAL
Small Animal Veterinarian at privately owned clinic - Rare vacancy!
We are thoroughly excited to be putting this ad up as it’s rare that we have an available spot on our team! We are searching for the right vet for our established, thriving medium-sized clinic – Petmania Vets.
About the role:
Firstly, you’ll need to be a qualified, experienced, Queensland-registered veterinarian. I know that would seem obvious, but according to the number of bartenders and janitors we have already had apply for the role, apparently, it’s not. You’ll be experienced in Small Animal sole charge work, although you’ll also have knowledgeable, supportive vets and nurses to brainstorm with much of the time as well.
The roster for the role is currently three days a week, however we’re open to making the position full-time for a great candidate. You’ll also join us for one of our half-day Saturdays, every four weeks.
The CPD leave allowance is one week per year, pro rata, plus protected training time such as frequent Lunch n Learns on topics of the team’s choosing. Speaking of protected time, we currently allocate three x 30-minute blocks every shift for you to do histories and callbacks, as well as Priority blocks to ensure you’re not double-booked when the inevitable cat fight abscess or emesis-induction Labrador arrives.
About the pay:
It sounds cliché but it’s the reality – the salary for this role depends on experience and additional superpowers. To give you an idea though, it starts at $100,000 plus superannuation, full-time pro rata, if you are happy with general consultations and the occasional surgery/dental/procedure. We’d love to pay you up to $130,000 plus superannuation full-time pro rata, though, if you bring additional exceptional skills and wisdom. Tell us where your value lies, and we’ll foster that with you.
About the clinic:
It’s purple. Hooo boy there’s a lot of purple here! That’s the first thing you’ll spot. Once you get past that though, you’ll notice that it’s cleverly laid out. The sunlit, open-plan reception, four consulting rooms, offices and well-stocked pharmacy flows down the hallway to the vast treatment area, glass-enclosed vet lounge, X-ray suite and laboratory. The dog ward, ultrasound suite, isolation ward, sterile theatre, cat ward and crew room sit at the other end, so each function of the clinic runs independently, efficiently (and quietly).
Please click here to see photos!
Petmania Vets do 30-minute general appointments, or extended consultations, depending on the needs of the patient. Our range of services includes acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, cold laser and orthopaedic surgeries, as well as specialist imaging, diagnostics and dentistry from our visiting specialists.
Team members enjoy reserved on-site parking, huge discounts for their own pets, catered monthly team meetings, birthday cakes and a fully stocked snack station.
About the people:
Your colleagues are five vets (three FTE), five qualified and experienced nurses/technicians, five receptionists, and an impossibly cheery Practice Manager. Having dedicated receptionists means our nurses can be fully utilised for their individual brilliance in hospital patient care, Team Consulting with you, and solo Nurse Consults.

HELENSVALE, NORTHERN GOLD COAST - SMALL ANIMAL New Position
Veterinarian – VetLove Helensvale – Part Time or Full Time
Are you a passionate and empathetic veterinarian looking for a clinic that prides itself on ALWAYS prioritising the well-being of its team, patients and clients? Look no further than VetLove Helensvale, a high-volume clinic with a large team of long-term staff who are always available to lend a helping hand.
Family-owned and operated by people that are actively involved in the day-to-day inner workings of the clinic, you will always have the support of people who are determined to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients and clients.
We are currently looking for a veterinarian of ANY experience level - we are more than happy to help support and nurture you as much or as little as you may need at this stage of your career.
With a large surgical caseload and more than enough medical puzzles to keep us on our toes, we regularly lean on each other for a second, third and often fourth opinion!
Ultimately, our primary focus is to improve the lives of every pet and pet owner that we see – our Google reviews are a testament to this!
The Team
Led by Veterinary Director Dr Heyn De Kock & Practice Manager Felisia Green and supported by Dr Aaron and Dr Claire, you will never be subjected to any sole charge, with anywhere from two to four vets scheduled on each day. Falling behind because of a tricky case that all of a sudden needs a work up? No need to stress, someone will be there to see your next one!
We are blessed to have an extensive team of experienced, hardworking nurses who pride themselves on having technical skills on par with any talented vet! If you don’t have time to take bloods or place a catheter, rest easy knowing it’ll be done before you’re finished with your next consult. Our nurses also perform pre-consults prior to any examination – they take care of the very important but also very repetitive aspects of consulting!
Our team is very adept with balancing the schedule despite our heavy caseload – we have lunch together as a team almost every single day and it is only on a very rare occasion that we don’t leave on time!
The Clinic
Despite how busy the clinic can get; day-to-day job satisfaction is a prerequisite at VetLove Helensvale. A constant flow of coffee and snacks, paired with an almost disgustingly dry sense of humour across the clinic, means that a day will never go by where you leave without a smile on your face. Work/Life balance is also carefully considered, and we will always do our best to make arrangements to ensure you can get a day (or month!) off if you need a holiday.
We are big advocates of continuing education, with a yearly fund allocated to each vet to use however they deem fit. Our diagnostic options are ever expanding with a plethora of pathology options including blood gas and coagulation testing available in-house. Alongside our modern digital radiology and ultrasound units, we are often able to work up complex medical cases before having to consider external referral. Due to having a great client base of clientele often willing to do what’s best for their loved ones, all of our facilities are constantly in use!
How to Apply!
If you are interested, we encourage you to contact the clinic on 07 5502 7711 if you have any questions, otherwise feel free to email hr@vetlove.com.au
Although it may seem a little unorthodox – Dr Georgia (the veterinarian we are heartbroken to be replacing) has offered to field any enquiries relating to working at VetLove Helensvale. We think this speaks volumes to the environment we have created, as we know without a doubt that she will be just as convincing as anyone else at selling us to you! Her email is georgia.milfull@vetlove.com.au
We look forward to hearing from you!

CAPALABA, CITY OF REDLAND - SMALL ANIMAL
Opportunity: Part Time Associate Vet Role
Location: Capalaba, QLD
Start date: Open
Okay, so you’ve done some hard yards to get to where you are. You’ve slogged through Uni, you graduated, you partied, you entered the industry, and found your feet. With this stressful transition and few years of clinical work behind you, you’re ready to realise the return on your investment in yourself and your career. It’s time to find a workplace that truly understands your aspirations and delivers on its promises!
Please click here to see photos!
This is a simple equation: You tell us your needs and we tell you ours. If we can give each other what we need, then we’re on.
Here’s what we THINK you need:
- Fair remuneration – this just requires an open conversation. It’s not scary. You tell us what you think is fair and reasonable and we figure out if its affordable. Starting salary $100K full time equivalent
- Balanced lifestyle – no staying back unpaid because this is your “life vocation”, no after hours unless you want to do it, no double booking or “squeezing” appointments in, no 15 minute primary consults – they’re ALL 30 minutes so you have time to do a proper job = job satisfaction.
- Support – a vet team who ask each other for advice, who love collaborating on cases and sharing knowledge, who recognise that in doing so they develop their knowledge in ways that reading can’t. Reliable and effective nurses who know their job and leap to help you. Many locum vets have commented that our nursing team is the best they’ve ever worked with.
- Excellent equipment – IDEXX Procyte and Catalyst machines, UA Analyser, iM3 dental equipment, digital dental radiology, TonoVet tonometer, ultrasound machine, diathermy, heated anaesthetic tubing, NIBP, ECG, ETCo2 monitoring equipment etc.
- Wonderful culture – no politics, no drama. We have fun together, we have open and honest conversations, we share a common vision to do a great job. We do fun activities together four times a year. Last year it included sailing on Moreton Bay for 3 days, and this year it’s shark diving at Julian Rocks in NSW. These adventures are all expenses paid. Why? Because that’s how you build a great team of people who know and trust each other.
- Inclusive management – My name’s Sam. I own My Local Vet. Can I manage it on my own? Of course not. I rely on YOU, the team, to run the show. The team quite literally make all the decisions. I just bring the questions – should we do this, or that?
- Responsive management – My aspiration always has been to cultivate and amazing workplace. I can’t do that without your feedback. Something you don’t like? We have a conversation and find a solution. It’s that simple. No escalating the issue to your supervisor and then the manager only to find she’s currently on annual leave so you’ll have to wait until she’s back. Just talk to ME. I’m a one stop shop.

NE BRISBANE - SMALL ANIMALS
Permanent Full-Time Veterinarian– North Brisbane
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing small animal boutique practice in a coastal suburb of Brisbane North. We are looking for a permanent full-time colleague wanting to settle into this wonderful community.
Third Avenue Veterinary Surgery is a friendly, family owned 3 vet practice where team culture and well-being trump KPIs! We are big enough to have all the equipment and toys you could want, while being small enough to genuinely care about our people and community. Our nurses work hard to make the day run as smoothly as possible and are hands on in assisting the vets with cases.
We pride ourselves on creating a friendly and welcoming clinic environment and take our time to get to know the families and their pets. We genuinely feel our clinic is a lovely place to come to work and we enjoy sharing our successes as a team, discuss our challenges and always strive to support each other.
Come and join us and practice veterinary medicine as it was always meant to be:
- Small animal only.
- Enough consult time to really get to know your patients and clients.
- A diverse caseload allowing continued growth as well as the mentorship, time and equipment to work cases up thoroughly.
- A young boss, who will work alongside you and harder than you!
- A culture of support, mentorship, mastery and autonomy.
- An idyllic location, surrounded by educated and grateful clients wanting the best for their pets.
Our ideal candidate would be 2-5 years qualified, small animal veterinarian looking to progress their career but new graduates are welcome to apply. We are looking for somebody excited about their career, wanting to find a practice where they can settle long term and thrive.

The role will be a permanent full-time role including every 2nd Saturday morning (our Clinic hours are 8:00am – 5:30 pm Monday to Friday and 9am – 12pm on Saturdays). These hours can be split over 4 days a week, giving you a regular day off each week to enjoy your beautiful surroundings and ensure that your work life balance is maintained. No after hours, public holidays or Sundays. All emergencies are referred to nearby hospitals. On the rare occasion sole-charge may be required.
You need to have excellent organisational and time management skills, including high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks within a busy work schedule.
Our salary package is well above award and will be commensurate with your experience. CPD is actively encouraged and $1 000 will be allocated to your professional development per annum. Your mentor has special interests in soft tissue surgery, exotics and reproduction and loves training. Our aim is to invest in you and enable you to be the best and happiest vet that you can be. That way we all win, patients, clients, the business and you!
Do you want to be part of a team that values everyone’s wellbeing and continue to promote our positive clinic environment and you see a long-term future with the clinic and want to grow with us.
