PARK RIDGE, LOGAN - SMALL ANIMAL New Position

In a recent anonymous staff survey conducted by Crampton Consulting group 100% of respondents strongly agreed that our practice has a high standard of care. Furthermore, 91% of respondents agreed that their workload is just right.  So, ok we aren’t perfect (!) and we feel the results speak for themselves.

We’re looking for an extra vet to join our team of 12 vets, 18 nurses and 4 customer care team members. In this unprecedented busy time within our industry please read on if you think this sounds like the right environment for you.

What We Offer

What We Need

Who We Are

Here’s what a vet who recently joined the team has to say:

“I joined the Park Ridge Animal Hospital team in mid-2020. PRAH was highly recommended by multiple people - both general practice and specialists prior to me joining. The team was very welcoming and is extremely supportive. You have the ability to work up both surgical and medical cases to a high degree and most importantly you have dedicated time in the day to do this (instead of needing to do them between consults etc). They value your mental health and this is evident in multiple ways. Continuing education and progression is at the forefront of conversations as well, and they’re keen to see you excel in the veterinary profession. The nursing and support staff are trustworthy and skilled, which helps you to be able to focus on managing your case load. The rosters are done a couple months in advance, so this helps to have a positive work life balance. If you’re looking for a supportive team, interesting cases, thoughtful management and a workplace you look forward to coming into each day, then Park Ridge Animal Hospital is the veterinary hospital for you.”

HOW TO APPLY:

Please address your application to Dr Nigel Thomas and email a cover letter and resume to nigel@parkridgevet.com.au or feel free to contact me on 0402 044 430 if you would like more information.

ANSTEAD/MARBURG, OUTER BRISBANE - EQUINE/SMALL ANIMAL - INTERNSHIPS New Graduates welcome

EQUINE INTERNSHIP WITH MIXED ANIMAL (25%) COMPONENT: 1 Remaining Position!

WestVETS Animal Hospitals, Anstead and Marburg, Queensland

We are searching for one more intern to join our team of three. WestVETS Animal Hospitals is offering a rotating internship focusing on developing recent graduates into well-rounded equine clinicians with the ability to retain and build upon small animal skills. This is a unique internship that is hard to match, the intern will gain a broad range of clinical skills to prepare them for whichever road they choose to take as a veterinarian. Our practice emphasizes a team approach to cases and interns will have strong mentorship from all of the veterinarians in the practice.

WestVETS Animal Hospitals are ideally located in South East Queensland. This is the perfect place to enjoy the Australia lifestyle! We are 30 minutes to downtown Brisbane, 1 hour to the Gold Coast and 1.5 hours to the Sunshine Coast.

The Equine Hospital caseload has a really good variety of cases; colics (both surgical and medical), ophthalmology (ulcers, conjunctival grafts, stromal abscesses), neonates (septic and dummy foals), orthopaedic (arthroscopy, fracture repair, arthrodesis), soft tissue surgery (laparoscopy, sinus and upper airway) wounds and medical cases (liver disease, weight loss, diarrhea etc). The clinicians also see a high number of lameness cases (fully equipped with a lameness locator) and prepurchase exams. We also have a very high caseload of routine calls such as dentals (1000 per year) including dental extractions and run a very busy routine and emergency ambulatory service. The Equine Reproduction Centre is located at Marburg, interns are able to gain some exposure to the assisted reproduction such as artificial insemination, embryo transfer and stallion collection. The major advantage of the equine internship at WestVETS is that you will have exposure to a wide variety of patients from racehorses to companion ponies to Olympic calibre athletes. Graduate veterinarians will be confident to walk into any equine or mixed practice with a solid start to their careers.

Please click here to see photos! photos

The intern will have exposure to first opinion small animal consults such as vaccinations, snake bites/rat bait/tick cases, desexing, wounds and general medicine cases. Both the Equine Hospital and Reproduction Unit have a small animal clinic associated with it; the amount of small animal exposure can be tailored to each individual intern. There are also opportunities for exposure to small ruminants and cattle. The intern will always have ample back up on solo cases and is encouraged to ask questions to senior clinicians.

Please contact us if you would like more details regarding the internship. We strongly encourage to speak to our current and previous interns.

Description

Queensland Veterinary Specialist’s (QVS) is seeking board certified specialist (residency trained applicants will be considered) in small animal surgery.

About Brisbane

South East Queensland is home to Queensland’s capital Brisbane as well as the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast. There are truly great places to live, holiday, relax and play. From the city to the country, the beach to the rainforests, Queensland has it all. The World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and islands are a short trip for a weekend away. Despite being Australia’s third most populous city (over 3.6 million), commute times are short, living is relaxed, schools are excellent, house blocks are large, and the people are easy going. It is a superb location to explore, play and raise a family.

About QVS

QVS is Australia’s longest established, privately owned 24/7 specialist hospital, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Based across two sites, QVS is within easy reach of the CBD and the beautiful Sunshine and Gold Coasts. We are committed to providing compassionate, progressive, evidence-based care that supports the animal-owner bond. We are a diverse group of specialists, technicians and support members (numbering over 150) that work in a jovial, cohesive and enjoyable environment. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, anaesthesia and cardiology with plans to expand beyond this.

Our world-class, purpose built, 1100m2 hospital will be opening January 7th 2022. The hospital is in Stafford and will complement our recently built hospital in Northlakes (purpose built 2016). Large investments have been made to ensure both hospitals are equipped to practice at the highest level. Facilities include a brand new 1.5 T Siemens MRI and 64 slice CT, multiple DR radiography suites, Philips fluoroscopy, Esoate ultrasound machines, flexible and rigid endoscopy towers.

Our ethos focuses on offering the best service possible, performed by the best veterinarian for the job. Special interests are encouraged and supported by the team and hospital directorship.

We are extensively resourced to offer the best standard of veterinary surgical care possible. NORTH MACLEAN, LOGAN - SMALL ANIMAL
north maclean family logo
KIDS. COME. FIRST.

Hello, Kylie here!
I am a full time mum to 3 beautiful girls (aged 7, 5 and 2), part time vet, full time practice owner… and for funsies (and destressing!) I have started my own hobby business on the side.
I have worked at a number of small animal clinics, and was never quite satisfied…
I wanted more!
I wanted to feel I was giving 100% care and support to my clients and patients every time.
I wanted a team I loved and could support, and a team that loved me back and were there to support me too.
Then I met Erica…

Hi, I’m Erica!
I’m not a mum, but I feel like that’s ok for me. I am a full time vet, full time practice owner, a full time sci-fi nerd, and a part time aerialist.
I have always loved my work, even through the ups and downs. I think the term unicorn has been thrown around more than once…
Through working in a few different practices I formed my own view on what I think it means to provide great veterinary care, and what makes a great workplace.
I soon found that Kylie shared my views too!
And so an idea started…

OUR STORY
A great friendship turned into a great partnership, so…
In November 2018 we opened the doors to a family owned small animal clinic - North Maclean Family Vet – and haven’t looked back!
We are currently searching for a good, all-rounder vet who is available to work between school hours. NO. AFTERHOURS.
Kylie especially understands the confidence and nerves when returning to work after maternity leave – we want to assure you that we will be supportive during this transition and help bring you back up to speed.
We will be patient… we will be kind… we will support you and help you grow.
We get you!
We want you to enjoy your time at work, but have the time at home with your family.
We value career development and will provide numerous options for continued education in your area/s of interest.

OUR CLINIC
As a new clinic, we have all of the usual fantastic modern equipment.
Our clients constantly tell us they love our fresh and clean clinic!
We practice high quality medicine, and will regularly involve in-house specialists in our patient care.
Our mobile cardiologist offers in house workups, preventative screenings and extensive knowledge.
Our mobile internal medicine specialist visits regularly to aid our diagnostic workups, and is always pushing our knowledge and level of care as much as he can! He is a fantastic asset to our team.
We recognise our patients are individuals and treat them as such… our clients really appreciate this!

Please click here to see photos! photos

OUR TEAM
We are a small, close knit team. Our work family is an extension of our own family. We are supportive of each other whenever possible.
Most importantly, we like to have fun!
Being involved in our local community is really important to us, and we are constantly finding ways that we can give back – we have decided that this year we will all learn AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) to assist our hearing affected clients.
Sustainability in a world full of many disposables is also important to us, and we all work together to recycle wherever we can!

We asked our team why they loved working for us, and here is what they said…
“North Maclean Family Vet is an extremely furry friendly and client focused practice. Both Dr Erica and Dr Kylie are exceptional vets with extensive knowledge of clients and patients. I’m so very proud to work here. Every shift is a great shift with plenty of laughs. All the staff are brilliant!”
“I may be biased but it is the best clinic that I have worked in! Also, Dr Kylie and Dr Erica are excellent at hiring the best of the best!”
“I didn’t know it was possible to have work life balance in the veterinary industry until I joined the North Maclean Family Vet team. In my 15+ years in the industry I have never found a clinic to be more in touch with the needs of their clients, patients and very importantly their staff! Joining this team was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I can’t imagine ever working anywhere else.”
“The North Maclean team have done an amazing job at making me feel a part of the team and family. I always look forward to an exciting day at work!”

SO, ARE YOU A PARENT? OR ARE YOU SIMPLY LOOKING FOR PART TIME WORK?

Then look no further - we are the clinic for you!

Applicants must have:

What we are offering:

A love of sci-fi isn’t a necessity, but it wouldn’t go astray! (Erica would love a new friend!)

OUR LOCATION
We are located in a growing region of southern, suburban Brisbane. We are approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane City, 30 minutes from the Gold Coast and the idyllic Tamborine Mountain, 45 minutes from Ipswich Central, or 20 minutes from Browns Plains. We are easily accessed along the Mount Lindesay Highway, making travel to and from the clinic very easy.
North Maclean is a semi-rural and suburban area, with lots of acreage and several new housing developments. Our clinic is situated in the local village hub, which has the convenience of a fantastic, locally renowned fruit shop. The hub also has a butcher, fish & chip takeaway, bottle-o, chemist, doctor’s clinic, and animal produce store, as well as a bakery that does the best coffee and treats south of Brisbane! We are only 10 minutes from Jimboomba, which has a growing shopping and business centre (and lots of lunch options!).

If you think you are the right fit for our team or want more information, we would love to hear from you! Please email your resume and cover letter to admin@northmacleanfamilyvet.com.au. GOLD COAST, MERMAID WATERS - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcome

Full Time/Part time/Casual Veterinarian Position

In addition, we will also EXCEED your current remuneration package!

Mermaid Vet is extending this invitation to all veterinarians to consider a position at Mermaid Vet on the Gold Coast. All applicants would be considered from new graduates to experienced veterinarians.

Within the veterinary industry, the common business model incorporating performance reviews, KPI's and product quotas is driving extremely high attrition rates, as it is in direct conflict with the ethos of most veterinarians.

It is our belief that veterinarians are drawn into their career pathway with a desire to provide optimal care for animals, not to over service clients or achieve sales targets.

Our main performance parameters are happy and co-operative individuals who place the needs of our patients above all else.

Consultations are made in thirty minute blocks. Our appointment structure allows for adequate time to manage hospital cases and complete thorough work ups for every patient. There are no afterhours as we refer after hours cases to a reputable local after hours facility. Every staff member has a weekly RDO. We perform regular orthopaedic surgery with the help of a visiting surgical specialist.

Our team of six well experienced veterinarians work cooperatively and collaboratively to provide a working environment brimming with support and guidance. Each of our veterinarians excels in one or more fields, allowing our clinic to offer a vast array of expertise. All of our veterinary nurses are fully qualified and provide excellent knowledgeable assistance. There are a minimum of four veterinarians working at any one time and we consistently maintain a higher ratio of vet nurses to vets.

Additionally, having the highest quality veterinary equipment means that diagnostic procedures can be efficient and more enjoyable in the day-to-day routine. Our clinic has a dedicated imaging room with DR x-ray and an new advanced ultrasound machine. Our DR x-ray machine produces high resolution images in a matter of seconds. We use our ultrasound machine routinely, but also provide training for our vets through a visiting ultra-sonographer. Our pathology suite is complete with an Idexx Catalyst biochemistry and Procyte haematology machines – delivering blood tests in approximately fifteen minutes. Our dental suite consists of two IM3 dental machines both with sub-gingival scalers and a wall mounted DR dental x-ray. Six consultation rooms, a dedicated imaging room, dental room and surgery complemented by multiple prep areas also make for hassle free procedures.

We also believe that veterinarians should never stop learning. We support ongoing education, career advancement and encourage the development of personal interests within the veterinary field.

We are a family friendly practice understanding the needs of staff with children. We are also offering conference leave, membership to vet education, VIN access, vet products and procedures at cost.

But most importantly, we offer a professional working life where you can devote your time and efforts to the best care and outcomes for companion animals.

Have a look on our website to see who we are and what we are all about.

FURKIDS VETERINARY SURGERY
FULL OR PART TIME VET
Greenbank, QLD

FURKIDS Vet is looking for another talented & passionate Vet to join our team!

So what’s the deal? Why would you want to work for us?

Why does one of our vets drive past 18 other surgeries to come work for us?
Why did one of our vets have twin boys and come back to work within a matter of months (it was only partially to escape the three boys under three – lol)?
Why do our permanent vets collectively do in excess of 500 hr of CPD a year?
Why do we shut down for a long weekend every year to pack the team up and go away & focus on our Wellness?
Why do we close between Christmas and New Year’s every year’?

….because above all else our values are focused on:

……we can’t provide one without the others….

In addition:
We have everything and more than most, full in-house pathology, x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, and much, much more – We invest heavily in our staff and equipment which allows us to do more in house.
We have a great team of vets who are all passionate, good quality veterinarians who love what they do! Most importantly we look after each other and have each other’s backs. We are an experienced and innovative team that like to have fun, collectively our vets have over 50 years experience in practice between them. All our vets have that little bit extra, many who have multiple qualifications & continue to study, we just love having each other to learn off.
We put our pets first. We get to practice great medicine. We really do believe that every pet matters and we go above an beyond for our patients.
We aren’t your regular vet, our clinic has a high caseload of super interesting patients, including Brachycephalic breeds, reproduction and complex medical cases.

We will flex to suit you – flexible roster, choose between short days or longer ones, whatever you want we can make it work for the right person!!
We pay our staff well – Great pay and all the usual benefits (super, study leave etc) – no KPIs.

Do you want to work somewhere where culture suits you? Where team is a big part of what you do? Where you have opportunity to learn and collaborate with other likeminded Vets?
If you are a dedicated and passionate veterinarian who is willing to devote their time to the care and well-being of all animals, then think about your future with us….
If this sounds like something you’d like to find out more about, we’d love to hear from you – feel free to call Vanessa on 0455 203 356 (Leave a message if you don’t get me – I will call you back!) or email your interest to Vanessa@furkidsvets.com.au

THE BENEFITS

Don’t just take our word for it! Here’s what one of our vets had to say:

‘I joined AES in May 2017 after working in general practice since 2013…I brought with me a wealth of experience but didn’t realise how much more I could do in simple stabilisation, triage and diagnostics. The accelerate program helped me understand the difference…A big difference you will find at AES is that there is always someone to call for advice and opportunities for further education.
’ – Amelia, Senior Veterinarian.

RIPLEY, CITY OF IPSWICH - SMALL ANIMAL New Graduates welcomeNew Position

Graduated[ing] as a vet...or already working & just not feeling the love?

Unsure how to find the 'right' clinic in an ocean of jobs...?

There may be a standout opportunity that makes the decision easy!

I'm Dr Andrew...
I graduated as a Vet way back in 2005...

Back then I had the same concerns that you might have...

I decided to take an internship that offered WAY more money than anywhere else...
At least I would be well rewarded right..?!?
How did that work out...?
Kinda like free falling from a plane with a cocktail umbrella, and a Youtube clip on how to use a parachute...!
A hit by car was my first consult... by myself…all on my own.
It had an abysmal culture, poor support & mentoring, stressful conditions, and toxic management...…But good pay!
Disappointed, I resigned after 6 months...
But when life gives you lemons you make lemonade...
I went on to open not one, but two thriving Veterinary hospitals (but we sold the little one to allow better support for our big hospital and staff)...

At Ripley Vet we understand the importance of getting the right fit for your Veterinary career...

It can be a BIG step either starting as a vet, or packing up and moving to a practice that is a better fit.

Please click here to see photos! photos

You’ll have:

Ripley Vet has a position for either our New Graduate Induction Program, or a role for a more Seasoned Vet. We can tailor a role to you (cause that’s what we do – work with crew, not over them).

The successful candidate will experience...

And all this takes place in our brand new, purpose built ASAV accredited hospital...

DAYBORO, MORETON BAY REGION - MIXED sponsorship available

The Old Mill Animal Hospital are searching for you.

Old Mill offers you that quaint country charm, whilst ticking all the right boxes for what you'd expect from an inner-city facility. We have 3 spacious consult rooms, a designated isolation ward, wet bench, separate sterile prep bench, a large theatre, huge kennel space, internal and external dog runs, a purpose office space to remove yourself from the floor and a designated staff area that is well removed from client eye. Yep, our clinic is better set out than yours. Add the CR x-ray, mobile ultrasound, iM3 machine, internal laboratory and kitty cottage, suddenly you can see yourself working here, right? I know that we can. Just in case we haven't won you over already, Old Mill comes with a well skilled nursing team, to take the stress away, and our clinic cat Sharni is probably the cutest thing you'll see all week. We're not even kidding, she is adorable.

Dayboro is only a 30min drive west of the Bruce Highway. Like to listen to audiobooks, or play your music way too loud? Me too. The scenic commute, all open road and no traffic lights, gives you the best opportunity to pump yourself up before work, or wind yourself down after work. I may not be able to sing (at all, seriously I am tone deaf) but the drive to and from Dayboro is the highlight of my day. Perhaps it could be for you too?

We are seeking an experienced and good-natured veterinarian, part time or full time, who is highly motivated, with the energy and drive to see this clinic for exactly what it is, a little hidden gem full of good vibes and great staff. Our clinic may be big in size, but we are smaller in clientele. No back-to-back 10minute consult blocks to ruin your mental health and no overscheduled surgical chaos to get you down. Like a decent hot-cross bun at Easter? Our local bakery has won awards for this. It will change your life (and possibly your waist line. Sorry, not sorry).
