About the opportunity
We invite you to become a valued member of our clinical team to further your veterinary career.

The Staff Veterinarian – Small Animal Internship position is within the Sydney School of Veterinary Science. Our hospital is the site for formal training for students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program.

The role will work within the School’s University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Camperdown. The teaching hospital provides clinical learning experience for veterinary students and staff engaged in professional training programs through provision of veterinary services to the public.

The remaining 50% will be spent involved in provision of emergency care and support for the hospital. There is the scope to allocate up to three months of the internship to a particular area of interest as part of the referral services rotation period. This would be of benefit to those looking for more specialised training programs as a steppingstone for residency applications.

Interns will participate in most aspects of the teaching hospital activity (weekly morbidity and mortality rounds, journal club, and didactic seminars which are supervised by registered specialists). Support will be provided interns to undertake a research project with the opportunity to present this at the annual ANZCVS Science Week Conference.
