SYDNEY SOUTH WEST - SMALL ANIMALS New Graduates welcome

Wollondilly Animal Hospital is independently owned and operated.

Located in Picton (2571) the clinic is less than an hour from Sydney CBD, thirty minutes from Wollongong’s beaches and thirty minutes from Bowral and the Southern Highlands.

Our recently refurbished and expanded hospital is bright, clean and spacious.

Please click here to see photos! photos

Our nurses are highly competent and trained to allow you to focus on our patient’s care and client’s needs.

We’re small enough to know many of our clients by name but large enough to see lots of interesting cases; and to support each other as needed.

Our appointments allow you plenty of time to work up cases and keep on top of your work.

Lunch breaks are mandatory and time is scheduled for case notes. Nurses will do your call backs.

The clinic closes at 6pm Monday-Friday, 12 noon Saturday. Vets are on their way home at 5pm during the week and 12 sharp on Saturday.

Dogs and cats only. No afterhours or Sunday work is required.

Ideally you will bring enough experience to work independently and a desire to learn new skills.

We are skilled and equipped to handle most cases in-house. Whilst visiting specialists complement our very experienced team, you won’t get stuck referring everything interesting to an affiliated specialist hospital.

We like people who are interested in their own growth; and we are happy to facilitate your continued development. If you have a year or two of experience and really want to expand your medical and surgical skills this is the place for you.

We use RxWorks and have a dedicated surgery suite, radiography room, large treatment area and laboratory. We also have a dedicated euthanasia room, great puppy preschool space, a well-stocked (coffee machine and dishwasher included!) lunch room, and more. Have a look at our website:

https://www.localvet.com.au/Wollondilly/TakeAHospitalTour.aspx

Salary is negotiable based on experience and ability but begins well above award and is regularly reviewed.

The ideal applicant will be experienced and fill a permanent, full-time position. However, hours are negotiable, part time work is available and new graduates are also encouraged to apply.

With a growing need for veterinary services in the area it’s time for more vets to join our team.

You are: A good communicator, looking forward to joining a happy team that enjoys coming to work.

We are: A fun team, with excellent clients, in lovely premises, and are an all-round great place to work!

For enquiries, feel free to text or phone Rhys Erskine on 0407 572 131 or email wollondillyvet@gmail.com.

RICHMOND/WILBERFORCE, HAWKESBURY - SMALL ANIMAL

Veterinarian Wanted

Are you passionate about providing outstanding patient and client care?
Are you looking for an employer who shares this passion, and supports the ongoing education and training of their vets and nurses?
Would you like to join a tight-knit team of professionals who pride themselves on their work ethic and excellent patient care and customer service?

If the answer is yes to all of the above, then Richmond and Wilberforce Veterinary Hospitals might be the place for you!

Who we are:
We’re looking for a full-time or part-time veterinarian to join our team of highly skilled vets and nurses. At Richmond & Wilberforce Vet Hospital, patient care is our top priority, and we take no shortcuts to achieve this.

You’ll be working across our two practices, Richmond Vet Hospital and Wilberforce Vet Hospital, working an average of 4.5 days a week, Mon-Sun on a rotating roster, with a 3-day long weekend each rotation.

Our team currently consists of 3 veterinarians, 6 veterinary nurses, 2 work experience nurses, and 1 practice manager (and whichever kitten rescues we are looking after at the time!).

We are committed to our staff’s wellbeing and ongoing training and education for both our vets and nurses, providing study leave and funding for educational courses and seminars for all staff.

Richmond Vet Hospital was first established in 1988, and Wilberforce in 1998, and in this time, we have built a reputation for consistently providing a high standard of care and treatment for our patients, and excellent customer service for our clients, which has earned us a very loyal client base that even includes third generation clientele.

What we look for in a vet:

What we can offer you:

What we do:
At Richmond & Wilberforce Vet, no two days are the same. While there are some days where it’s a little q***t, most are full of interesting cases. Just this year, our vets have treated cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits, birds, lizards, snakes, koalas, crocodiles and cheetahs!

We work closely with WIRES, donating a lot of our time and resources and to treating our native wildlife, we provide subsidised desexing procedures through our local animal shelter, we are constantly rescuing kittens found in gutters, and coolest of all, our Veterinary Director, Dr Tom Winters, is the on-call veterinarian for The Wild Cats Conservation Centre, treating their cheetahs, snow leopards, caracals, snapping turtles, and other amazing resident animals. While we can’t promise you’ll also get to treat them, we can promise you’ll definitely get to meet them!

What some of our staff have to say:
Richmond and Wilberforce vets are fantastic clinics to work for. Both the nursing and veterinary teams are extremely supportive, and we all work together to give our patients the best care. We help each other with cases and different procedures and are encouraged to expand our knowledge and techniques.
- Dr Wood

Richmond and Wilberforce Vets is like a family - but not the dysfunctional kind! We celebrate wins and commiserate losses as a team. We enjoy practicing a high standard of medicine and I love that we treat most things furred, feathered, or scaled. I couldn’t ask for much more!
- Dr Kurtz

"Richmond and Wilberforce Vets has a team of vets and nurses that work collaboratively to provide high standard of care for our patients. We are happy to support each other with cases and procedures, especially for more complex ones, and share knowledge and expertise to reach the best patient outcomes."
- Dr Poon

I started here as a new grad and never wanted to leave.
- Dr Winters – Veterinary Director

I’ve had the pleasure of working at Richmond and Wilberforce Vet Hospitals for 5 years, and it’s been an incredible experience. The staff are amazing and supportive, and many have become close friends, making every shift enjoyable. I feel so lucky every day to be a part of a team that feels like a family. Each day is unique, and you never know what will come through the door, but you can guarantee that you’ll get through it as a team and have a few (or a lot) of laughs along the way! Our head vet, Dr. Tom, and our practice manager, Eden, are fantastic. They’re kind, caring, and constantly strive to create a positive workplace and drive change in the industry for the better. If you are looking for caring and positive team to work with and some new friends that make coming to work exciting every day. I encourage you to come work with us!
- Claire, Veterinary Nurse

"At Richmond & Wilberforce Vets I’m encouraged and supported with my continuing education goals, I’m surrounded by a hard-working and dedicated team of people who love animals, I'm fed sushi and cookies in our regular staff meetings, and I’m led by managers who I can have a laugh with and go to when I need help or when I have ideas to improve the way we do things.”
- Naomi, Veterinary Nurse
