KEYSBOROUGH, SOUTH EAST MELBOURNE - SMALL ANIMAL
Love strikes again at Keysborough Vet…
One of our vets is getting married and moving across town, and another will be going on maternity leave, so we are looking for a new vet, potentially two, to join our team. While full time hours are preferred, a part time position may be available for the right fit.
At Keysborough Vet Practice we believe that a trip to the vet should be a positive experience, both for clients and their pets, and even more importantly, for the staff who work here. We focus on providing quality veterinary care tailored to the individual pet and client.
Privately owned and run, we can provide flexibility and personal service that may not be possible with a corporate practice. There is no after hours requirement, we are lucky enough to be situated within easy reach of 2 emergency centres, however we are open 9-2 Saturdays, and there would be a requirement to share in the Saturday roster. Full time staff have a rostered long weekend the week after working a Saturday to try and maintain some balance. Sole charge is minimal, and we have regular discussions amongst vets about cases. The schedule includes blocked times for phone calls & follow up, lunch breaks, and sometimes even a mocktail Friday! Continuing education is supported & encouraged, and we have an hourly pay rate rather than salary, to ensure staff are paid for all the time they work. We have a fantastic nursing and reception team ready to support you as well.
If you’d like to come meet us and see if we could have the job you’re after, please send your application to nicole@keysivet.com.au

ELTHAM, NORTH-EAST MELBOURNE - SMALL ANIMAL
🚨 Associate Veterinarian (Part-Time to Full-Time) 🚨
Location: Eltham Veterinary Practice, Eltham Victoria
Starts part-time with full-time potential, recent graduates welcome to apply
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, compassion, and the occasional dog in a tutu are all part of the job? Are you the kind of vet who not only knows their stuff but actually cares - about patients, pet parents, and not leaving the surgery room light on? Then congratulations- you might be just what we’re looking for.
🏥 About Us:
At Eltham Veterinary Practice we’re not just a veterinary practice - we're a team powered by Respect, Teamwork, Compassion, Integrity, and High Standards. Basically, we try to be the kind of people our pets think we are. The award winning INDEPENDENT Eltham Veterinary Practice (EVP) is co-owned by Drs Steve Pryor and Gus Braniff and is located in the beautiful bushland suburb of Eltham.
We're growing, and we want someone who’s in it for the long haul - or at least has more staying power than Carlton.
Please click here to see photos!
🐾 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Practicing excellent veterinary medicine with the backup of a supportive, snacks-stocked team
- Building trust and rapport with clients - because you're not just treating animals, you're reassuring the people who love them
- Handling everything from routine check-ups to “uh-oh, this just happened” emergencies
- Switching tasks mid-sentence if needed (because yes, sometimes the cat sneezes and the dog throws up - at the same time)
✅ The Ideal You:
- Friendly, warm, and honestly... honest
- Hardworking with the stamina of a Labrador puppy on espresso
- Naturally good at customer service and building genuine relationships (we like people who like people and pets)
- Able to keep calm, manage time like a pro, and maintain grace under pressure - even if someone brought in a wombat with a bad attitude
- Happy to take ownership of your role - you know what needs doing and you get it done
- Willing to learn, open to feedback, and not afraid to ask questions (or laugh at Gus’s jokes)
- Independent enough to work solo – (would do this rarely), but team-minded enough to back up your colleagues without being asked
- Flexible when plans change (which they do… often… usually mid-coffee)
🎁 What You Get:
- Competitive pay (we know what you’re worth)
- A friendly, respectful team that actually likes working together
- Flexible hours and a chance to grow into a full-time role
- Weekly lunch bought by practice followed by 2 hour staff meeting/training session
- Opportunities for ongoing learning - because we love curiosity
- A workplace where your values really matter
- The unofficial clinic motto: "Serious about medicine/surgery. Slightly less serious about everything else."
If you're ready to join a practice where respect is real, teamwork is tight, and we laugh at the chaos instead of crying about it, we’d love to hear from you.
📧 Send us your resume to steve@elthamvet.com.au, a short note about why this feels like your kind of place, and (optional but encouraged) any good jokes/memes.
Join our passionate team and be part of an exciting journey in veterinary care.

MITCHAM, EASTERN MELBOURNE - SMALL ANIMAL
New Position
Veterinarian – VetLand Hospital & Emergency, Mitcham
You’ve done the hard part - now it’s time to really take off to the skies!
You’ve graduated. You’ve survived your first year in practice. You’re no longer brand new—but you’re not yet where you want to be. You’re looking for the next step that will actually accelerate your skills and confidence.
That’s exactly what we offer at VetLand Hospital & Emergency.
Why VetLand?
We’re a 24-hour hospital that sees everything. You may spend your morning vaccinating a puppy or establishing a dental care plan with a client, and your afternoon stabilising a spinal patient, unblocking a cat, or closing bite wounds. The breadth of cases here is unmatched—and you won’t just be watching from the sidelines.
We’re also a hospital that embraces the future of veterinary medicine. AI-powered record keeping (goodbye hours of admin), digital workflows, CT, fluoroscopy, CO₂ laser scalpel, Ligasure, photobiomodulation therapy—the kind of tools that let you focus on medicine, not paperwork.
Please click here to see photos!
We think that we have some of the best clients around. Clients who are open to hear what you have to say and take on your recommendations. We see them as partners in care, and building strong relationships is part of what makes our job rewarding.
Who we’re looking for:
- A veterinarian with around 12 months of experience, confident with the basics and keen to stretch further. However, a new graduate who is motivated to jump into their career with both feet could also suit the role
- Someone who’s ready for sole charge at times—but appreciates knowing a senior vet is always a phone call or corridor away.
- A team player who enjoys collaboration, learning, and sharing wins (and challenges).
- A curious mind, open to new ideas and excited to contribute their own.
What we offer:
- Salary + retention bonuses at 12 and 24 months. Productivity bonuses mean your effort doesn’t go unnoticed.
- Mentorship without gatekeeping. Our senior vets have special interests across medicine, surgery, chemotherapy and dentistry—and they want to share, not guard, their knowledge.
- Case variety that builds confidence fast. You’ll see more here in one year than most vets see in three.
- A team that values growth. You won’t be “just the recent grad.” You’ll be a clinician, trusted with cases, and backed by colleagues who want you to succeed.
What this means for you:
This is your chance to move from “competent” to confident—to develop the clinical judgment, surgical skills, and case management ability that will set you up for the rest of your career.
We’re confident you’ll always be challenged, supported, and appreciated.
🚀 If you’re ready to throw some fuel on your fire, get in touch—we’d love to meet you. Please send your resume to recruitment@vetsinc.com.au & don't forget to use "VetLand - Recent/New Graduate" in your subject line.

MITCHAM, EASTERN MELBOURNE - SMALL ANIMAL New Position
Veterinarian – VetLand Hospital & Emergency, Mitcham
Do you believe AI is here to take our jobs, or are you excited about new technology revolutionising veterinary medicine?
Are you comfortable with what was printed in a textbook, or are breakthroughs in treatment of FIP, and shifting paradigms about microbiomes keeping you energised about being a veterinarian?
We are VetLand Hospital & Emergency. We're a bit different than what you're used to - but if those questions resonate with you, we think you'll fit right in.
We promise you'll never be bored. As a 24 hour hospital we're so lucky to see the full gambit of cases. Our patients rely on us for routine vaccinations and dental treatments to keep them healthy, as well as urgent care when they need us most - from a ruptured cruciate to IVDD - and everything in between.
We are very considerate of the client's experience as a valuable contributor to their pet's health journey. We actually like our clients and enjoy building long-term professional relationships with them.
Please click here to see photos!
What we're looking for:
- A veterinarian who views clients as a contributor to a pet's healthcare, not an obstacle or hurdle.
- A veterinarian with enough experience to take sole charge when needed (without the cold sweats).
- Someone who sees working alongside other vets as an opportunity—to share skills, to mentor, or to sharpen their own.
- Someone who's excited to bring their veterinary skills to a new environment - with an open mind to learn, and share with us your experience and ideas.
What we offer:
- A generous salary package tailored to your experience, including retention bonuses at 12 and 24 months (because commitment deserves recognition). Productivity bonuses means your effort is always valued.
- A hospital environment that actually backs you with equipment, collegiality, and case variety.
- In addition to all the toys you'd expect from a 24 hour hospital, our veterinarians have access to a Aesculight carbon dioxide laser scalpel, Ligasure vessel sealing device, CT scanner, fluoroscopy, endoscopy and Companion photobiomodulation laser, and much more.
- We embrace new technology to make your job easier - all digital workflows, cloud-access to radiographs, pathology as well as AI-powered record keeping - no more overtime to get your histories done!
- A varied team of new as well as established veterinarians to contribute to a team of clinicians who are still passionate about being vets! New graduates are a fantastic beacon of vitality and will appreciate your input and mentorship. Our experienced veterinarians have varied special interests, including soft tissue surgery, small animal medicine, chemotherapy and dentistry and are excited to share. There's no gate-keeping around here.
- A unique variety of cases that we believe you'll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Our veterinarians are challenged with cases ranging from a torn nail and juvenile bitch spey to blocked cats and status epilepticus. They are supported to be the primary case veterinarian - but if things are getting too curly - a senior vet is always available for some perspective and support. We've been doing this for a long time, there's very little we haven't encountered.
At VetLand Hospital & Emergency, we're serious about medicine and quite simply - just doing a good job by our pet families.
We're looking for someone to get in amongst the team and take this exciting opportunity by the reins.
You'll be joining a team where your skills matter, your growth is encouraged, and your work is respected.
Does this sound like your kind of different?
Get in touch - we'd love to meet you. Please send your resume to recruitment@vetsinc.com.au & don't forget to use "VetLand - Experienced" in your subject line.

LILYDALE, NORTH-EAST MELBOURNE - SMALL ANIMAL New Position
Veterinarian – Full Time or Part Time | Lilydale, VIC
We’re on the lookout for an experienced vet to join our little clinic family here in Lilydale in the Yarra Valley. While we’re ideally after an experienced vet, we’d also love to hear from a confident vet with 2–3 years’ experience who’s adventurous, shows initiative, and is looking to continue their upward career trajectory.
Who We Are
We’re NOT corporate, and we like it that way. It means we have the freedom to do what works best for our patients, their families, and our team. We’re a boutique-style clinic – small enough to care, but big enough to have the gear and skills to work cases up properly, do surgeries, and provide great medicine.
Please click here to see photos!
We’re open 8am–7pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays until 2pm (shared on a roster). There’s no afterhours or night shifts – emergencies and walk-ins are handled during the day (that is our excitement cases!), and we transfer to a trusted 24/7 hospital for overnight care and advanced imaging (like CT and myelograms).
Who We’re Hoping to Meet
We’d love someone who’s:
- A friendly, enthusiastic all-rounder who still gets a buzz out of being a vet.
- Keen to keep learning new skills (and happy to share some too).
- Someone who sees colleagues as friends and is ready to be part of a supportive, close-knit team.
- Great with people as well as pets – communication is huge for us, so fluent English is a must. Other soft skills can be trained. We use the Lincoln Institute programme for that.
- We need a “furever” vet. Although a working holiday visa vet was great over the past few years, we need someone who can stay with us for longer.
What You’ll Need
When we say experienced, we mean it. You’ll need to be confident doing a mature bitch spay on your own (with a nurse, of course). You’ll also need to be comfortable with dentals and lumpectomies. If you’re a bit out of practice, that’s okay – we’ll help you get up to speed but we need a solid foundation to build on.
We’re also a clinic that likes to stay curious – whether that’s embracing AI in practice software, talking nutrition, or exploring areas like CBD oil. An open mind will fit in well here.
What We Offer
- A genuinely supportive, kind, and collaborative workplace.
- No after-hours, no night shifts, no stress.
- A team that values laughter, learning, and looking out for one another.
- Lovely clients and their pets – they really are special to us.
If you’ve read this far and thought, “This sounds like my kind of place,” we’d love to chat.
Drop us a line at recruitment@vetsinc.com.au.

The Role
We’re flexible with scheduling and are looking for the right person, whether you're seeking full-time, part-time, or casual work. We are especially looking for someone available for a mix of midweek and weekend shifts, but we're happy to work around your availability.
- Weekday hours: 9 am – 6/8 pm
- Weekend hours: 11 am – 10 pm
Weekend shifts involve some standard consults initially but then only emergencies for the rest of the day. While the role is sole-charge, you'll have direct access to senior vet input via phone when needed.
If you're ready to be part of a clinic that values your skills, supports your growth, and makes every shift feel meaningful — we'd love to hear from you.

YARRAMBAT & NORTH WARRANDYTE, NORTH EAST MELBOURNE - MIXED
Full Time mixed animal veterinarian position
The Veterinary Surgery is looking for a mixed animal veterinarian to join The Veterinary Surgery team (Yarrambat & North Warrandyte).
70% Small, 15% equine, 15% mixed animals.
We are seeking a veterinarian who will work well in a large, friendly and supportive team of vets and nurses that provide a high level of care to our patients.
The Position:
- Well-supported position within a great team of 10 vets spread across two clinics
- 4 x 9.5 hour weekday shifts with one rostered weekday off, plus 1 in 4 Saturday morning shifts
- 1 in 7 weeknights on call plus 1 in 7 weekends on call
- 4 weeks annual leave plus one week paid study leave with a further $1500 CPD allowance
- Attractive remuneration
- Large and varied medical and surgical caseload, rarely limited by financial constraints
- Best suited to a motivated, versatile and progressive vet
- Best suited to a vet who will appreciate and contribute to a culture of fun in our workplace
- Baking is looked upon favourably
The clinics and the business:
- Main clinic located in Yarrambat, a picturesque and semi-rural suburb approx 45 mins northeast of Melbourne's CBD
- Branch clinic located in Warrandyte, a beautiful village nestled in the green wedge alongside the Yarra River, 40 min east of the CBD
- Independently owned business with two directors who will happily clean cages, and work shoulder to shoulder with the associates
- Both clinics comprehensively equipped with premium diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
Words from one of our Associate Vets:
- We are one of the few clinics where is it possible to live in the "city" and do mixed animal practice
- Our nurses are well-trained to look after us, not over-book and give us enough time for consults, phone calls and catch-ups. Lunchtimes and home-times are considered sacred, and we almost always get out on time. If you want to leave the clinic to go for a walk or pick up lunch at lunchtime, that is almost always possible.
- Doing on-call is an opportunity to serve the local community, to gain unique experience, learn to think on your feet and see some cool cases, but we also have the ability to refer small animal emergencies to 24-hour centres so they can receive the best of care (which also means on-call isn't overly busy)
- As we see such a variety of animals and cases, there is definitely the ability for vets to develop a special interest - anything from alpacas, or equine dentistry, or small animal behaviour. But otherwise, this is an awesome clinic to become a well-rounded mixed animal practitioner, with vets experienced in different areas to provide support and guidance.
- Our large animal work is often for clients who keep a small number of these animals as pets, and so individual diagnostics and treatment are often pursued, but there is also the scope for doing some herd health work if vets are interested
- We have the ability both to work-up and treat complicated cases in-house, and use travelling specialists, but also, we commonly refer and have excellent relationships with specialist centres
- Our clients are generally excellent, usually very respectful and keen to do the best for their animals. As a small independent practice, we have many clients that have been coming to the clinic for decades and value the personalised care we can provide for their animals.
- We are a very casual, friendly, chatty bunch. We work hard but have fun. The radio plays out the back. We often sit and have lunch together. The vet team are very supportive and approachable and share cases and ideas and ask each other for help commonly.
Please contact Andy Lynch at andrew.lynch@thevetsurgery.com.au or at the Yarrambat Veterinary Hospital 03 9436 1699 to register your interest or to further discuss the position.
