The rural tech role is predominately dairy related with tasks including but not limited to blood testing, body condition scoring, disbudding, teat sealing, vaccinating and metrichecking, and there is a related data recording and reporting aspect. There will also be times when you will be required to work with sheep, beef and deer.

The candidate we are looking for should be physically fit with good large animal handling skills and be able to strike up a conversation with all involved in the farming sector.   You must able to work independently and also well in a team environment, be well organized, motivated and self driven, with good computer and communication skills. 

There will be times when you need to assist at reception or in the surgery, so customer service skills and product knowledge are essential to succeed in this position.

The clinic manager position is focused on efficient operation of all clinic activities on a daily basis. The clinic manager holds the lead role in managing bookings, vet resources, support staff, co-ordinating services, prioritising work flows and managing client expectations. 

This is a reception based position. The Receptionist is a pivotal person in the veterinary practice environment as they are the first point of contact with clients and visitors.  Therefore, he/she provides front line reception services, and assists and communicates with staff accordingly.

Emergency/Critical Care Veterinary Nurse - full time 

Animal Referral Centre (ARC) is a busy, growing, private small animal specialist/emergency practice established in 2016. We are independently owned and operated and have specialists in small animal surgery and internal medicine. We are expecting to add dermatology and physiotherapy services to the practice in mid 2019. 

Our after hours caseload is varied and interesting, consisting of a mixture of primary access and referral cases from practices in Auckland and beyond. A high proportion of our clients have pet insurance.

We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern veterinary hospital including full in-house laboratory suite with Radiometer, multiparameter patient monitors, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, mechanical ventilation, on-site CT, and dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and wards. We have a receptionist on most weekdays evenings and Sundays.

Our successful candidate must have a positive attitude as well as a passion for emergency and critical care (ECC). At least 2 years experience as a veterinary nurse is required. Previous emergency nursing experience is an advantage, but not essential.

Seasonal Vet Nurse Position

Veterinary Associates Equine & Farm is seeking applicants for a full-time seasonal Vet Nurse position (June 2019 – January 2020). This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team of thirteen veterinarians, including a board-certified internist, a board-certified surgeon, two interns, five nurses, three nurse assistants, and two administrative staff in a full-service equine ambulatory and referral practice. The position will predominantly involve in-hospital patient care, surgical assistance, and clinic-based appointments, though assistance on ambulatory calls will also be required. For the right applicant, there may be an opportunity for the position to become permanent.

Veterinary Nurse Qualification is not required, though preferred. Favourable applicants will have experience working as a veterinary nurse, strong horse-handling skills, a willingness and ability to perform physical labour, and an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude.

Veterinary Associates is an equine general and referral practice located in Karaka, South Auckland, New Zealand. The practice is heavily involved in all types of equine pursuits and has a large surgical, medical, and reproductive caseload, providing a tremendous variety of work.
