About the role:
In conjunction with the Operations Manager, your role will be centered around the efficient running of the hospital, leading people and teams. This role will involve:
- Overseeing the flow of procedures across our various departments working closely with the nursing team leaders.
- Actively supervising on the floor with occasional clinical duties as the needs arise
- Ensuring all resources in the hospital are utilised as efficiently as possible throughout the day, keeping communication and procedures flowing between departments.
- Direct managing the nursing team leaders, providing them with support and guidance and ensuring sufficient staffing levels are in place.
- Accountability for clinical standards within the hospital, providing our patients with a gold level standard of care.

Animal Referral Centre (ARC) is a busy, growing small animal specialist/emergency practice established in 2016. We are independently owned and operated so you will be working with specialists in emergency and critical care, small animal surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, oncology, neurology and cardiology.
Our after hours department operates 24/7 and nurses are rostered to work a variety of days, nights and weekends, with an appropriate number of days off in between. Caseload is varied and interesting, consisting of a mixture of primary access and referral cases from practices in Auckland and beyond.
We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern referral veterinary hospital including full in-house laboratory suite with IDEXX analysers (CBC, chemistry, clotting times, urinalysis and sediment analysis), Radiometer blood gas and electrolyte analyser, Surigvet multiparameter patient monitors with capnography, ICU mechanical ventilators, manual biphasic defibrillator, digital radiography, ultrasound, on-site CT and endoscopy.
