Situated on the Darling Downs, Dalby is a modern urban centre with a town population of over 10,000. Located 211 km north west of Brisbane, 85 km north west of Toowoomba, it's only 2 ½ hours drive to Brisbane, 1 hour to Toowoomba, 3 hours to Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

The area is a rich agricultural region, and there are excellent educational facilities including both state and private schools, a TAFE centre, an agricultural college and university campus within 80 km. Dalby is at present experiencing a burst of industry and development with new skilled labour moving into the area weekly. A large redevelopment of the central business centre with a major shopping centre complex is expected to be completed by the end of 2006.

Dalby has numerous sporting teams and holds some quite prestigious social events throughout the year. Lake Broadwater for water sports and the rainforest areas of the Bunya mountains offer great recreational retreat options, both an easy half hour drive.
