Shaping the future – join our new OOH farm service Farm24

We are proud to have launched a new out of hours farm service - Farm24! Covering 3 of our practices in the Shropshire area, we are now providing seamless 24 hour cover to our clients and their businesses. Our aim is to turn the traditional on-call rota on its head by allowing our daytime Vets to focus on the routine cases and our standalone OOH team will focus on night-time and weekend emergencies. You will be involved in developing and shaping this new service that will act as the blueprint for further sites across the UK.

An exciting and diverse emergency caseload
We are looking for farm Veterinary Surgeons who are confident in farm emergencies to work and continue to develop the new service. Developing relationships with clients and the local veterinary teams is essential, as is the ability to problem solve and work on your own. You will be on-call from the comfort of your own home and attending emergencies as and when needed. You will receive the perfect blend of pace with a higher number of calls during spring but quiet spells during the summer months allowing you to really maximise your downtime. Ellesmere is the central point of the geographical area covered.

Work life balance - one week on, one week off
Our people are at the heart of everything that we do, and with this role you will enjoy one week off every two weeks to explore your interests, travel or to simply relaxing and recharge. Rota patterns would consist of working from 6pm to 8am Monday to Sunday. With a shared one-week-on, one-week-off rota, you'll have flexibility and freedom.

Join Farm24 and be a part of our wider farm team and become and integral part of our emergency response team, where your contributions truly make a difference! We are delighted to offer assistance with visa expenses and relocation costs of up to £5,000 for this position.

Rota -
You will enjoy a mix of consults and surgery, with the freedom to follow up your cases.

A mix of early and late shifts - 8am - 4pm and 11am - 7pm. Time each day for reflection and further learning.

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - St Elmo Veterinary Clinic

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Small Animal Vet to join our growing team at St Elmo Veterinary Clinic in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. We are a dedicated 100% small animal practice and our friendly, welcoming and committed team strive to give the utmost care and treatment to all pets.

At St Elmo, you will be part of an experienced team of 3 vets, 6 RVN's and a fantastic support team of receptionists and Practice Director. You will enjoy a varied range of cases where you will be encouraged to build your own client base. We have a brand new fully refurbished, purpose-built clinic, filled with all the latest tech and equipment. Our practice now boasts, 4 consult rooms, theatre, separate dog, cat and isolation rooms, X-ray and lab facilities on site plus a lift, offices, 3 bathrooms, a rest room, a staff room and laundry room. There is also onsite parking available too.

We have 30 minute consults, as standard, with 15 minutes for boosters and vaccines. Our ideal candidate will be confident performing routine surgeries in a sole charge capacity. You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, and the confidence to deliver high quality care to all our patients.

We can consider full or part-time hours, 20-40 hours per week, with a requirement to cover 1 night every 3 weeks on call, plus 1 in 18 weekends. We have plans to have an OOH provider in place by July 2024.

Salary £42k - £60k+ pro rata, dependant on experience and qualifications. Career progression and CPD are actively encouraged and supported. Visa sponsorship fully funded for overseas candidates (you must be eligible to register with the RCVS).
