Green Point Veterinary Hospital, Central Coast NSW
Locum Position ASAP to early-mid July
Due to an unforeseen medical situation, we are seeking a vet to start ASAP (aka NOW). Green Point Veterinary Hospital is an independently owned vet clinic with a cohesive and supportive team where we aim to ensure that individuals enjoy going to work and discover (or rediscover) their love for veterinary medicine and surgery. Individual members are encouraged to share their skills, knowledge and interests, enabling all team members to develop new skills and work together on cases and patient care to ensure the best outcomes for our clients and their fur family members.
Our Clinic
- Busy small animal only clinic with a varied case load
- The clinic was purpose built and includes three consult rooms, two surgical theatres, wet prep area, separate dog and cat wards and employee kitchen and lunch room. We also do some boarding.
- Equipment includes in house haematology and biochemistry, digital x-ray, ultrasound, im3 dental machine, endoscope, VetScan Imagyst, digital tonometer and numerous other gadgets and toys.
- We have a team of experienced nurses who are invaluable in the smooth operation of our practice and ensuring excellent patient care.
- Clinic hours are Monday to Friday 0830-1830 and Saturday 0830-1230. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays. There are referral hospitals nearby for after-hours care and monitoring patients overnight if needed.
- Excellent and caring client base – allowing you to develop long term relationships with the clients and their fur family members.
About You
- Qualified veterinarian registered with the NSW Veterinary Practitioners Board.
- Honest, friendly and an excellent communicator with an excellent sense of humour
- Ability to work well within a team, supporting and sharing skills and knowledge with your colleagues
- Flexibility and ease adapting to changing work environments (the day rarely goes to plan in vet science).
- Strong work ethic with exceptional organisational skills and initiative
- What’s on Offer
- Position starting as soon as possible and continuing into early-mid July (4-6 week period)
- Flexibility with shifts and times but ideally 2-3 days per week from 0830am-630am (but open to discussion for the right applicant if hours need to be shorter)
- No on call or afterhours required
- Possible sole charge on occasion (but this is open to discussion also). There are two other vets at the practice so you will typically always be rostered on with another vet.
- Happy to consider applicants that wish to consult only – otherwise mix of consult and surgery each day.
- Pay rate is negotiable and dependent on experience.
- Accommodation and travel costs will not be covered.
About The Area
The Central Coast of NSW is a rapidly growing area. Green Point is located at the southern end of the Central Coast (Gosford area) and provides an enviable lifestyle being surrounded by nature with beaches, waterways and National Parks. It offers a lifestyle which is more relaxed and affordable than Sydney but Sydney is within an easy commute (approx. 35 minutes by car or there are regular train services) and Newcastle is just over an hour away. I moved to the Central Coast for my first job after graduation and love the area – its only downfall, finding a café for a coffee after about 1600 in the afternoon.
