A one and a half hour drive from Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain is one of the world's oldest permanently inhabited settlements, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is known as the Garden City of the Gulf due to its greenery.

Located in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi Emirate, Al Ain is just south of Dubai, with Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south.

Al Ain has a higher proportion of Emirati nationals than elsewhere in the country, but the majority of its residents are expatriates.

The city abounds in picturesque forts, and other attractions include Al Ain oasis with its cool, shady walkways and a 3,000-year-old falaj irrigation system. For watersports lovers there is the Wadi Adventure, the region’s only man-made white water rafting, kayaking and surf facility, which is built in the foothills of the majestic Jebel Hafeet.
