Wellington is a town in inland New South Wales located at the junction of the Macquarie and Bell Rivers.

The Wellington Valley has been blessed by mother nature and loved by generations. From the serenity of our hills and rivers to the array of coffee, cakes and shops, you are sure to enjoy our beautiful Wellington Valley.

Wellington is a popular stopover on the Mitchell Highway as you head west to Dubbo. Many 19th-century buildings survive today; it's best to see them on a historical town walk that takes in art galleries and the Oxley Museum. Stop for a drink at the Lion of Waterloo Tavern, built in 1841 and one of the original hotels in the area.

A short drive from Wellington is one of Dubbo area's most popular attractions, €“Wellington Caves, which you can tour. Close by in this part of Country NSW are botanic gardens, wineries and Lake Burrendong State Park.

Look out for emus at the Burrendong Arboretum, a large botanic garden that has 2,000 species of Australian trees and wildflowers. Other natural highlights include the peaks, views and birdlife at Mount Arthur Reserve; pretty Cameron Park in the city centre, with its sunken garden, rose beds and lily pond; and the manicured serenity of Wellington Osawano Japanese Gardens.
