Wallan is situated on the northern fringes of Melbourne. Wallan is the fastest growing town and now largest town in the Mitchell Shire. Wallan is 45 kms north of Melbourne and acts as a link between the city and rural towns such as Kilmore, Broadford and Seymour. The township flanks the Northern Highway and is set against the backdrop of the Great Dividing Range.

Directly north of Wallan is the Goulburn River Valley Region which is famous for its scenic beauty; characterised by rolling hills, lush forests, majestic rivers and lakes, rural plains and the mighty Goulburn River - the lifeblood of the region - making it a hugely popular lifestyle and holiday destination.
