St Marys is a suburb in western Sydney, located 45 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Penrith. St Marys is one of the few townships in the world to be actually named after a church. The area has a long and rich industrial and agricultural history, including tanneries and munitions formerly operated by Australian Defence Industries.

This suburb is the major industrial, commercial and residential centre for the eastern side of the City of Penrith. It has evolved to be a very family orientated area. Queen Street is one of the largest shopping areas in the western suburbs of Sydney.
