Buronga on the banks of the Murray River faces directly opposite Mildura. Offering a full range of facilities and services it is the gateway to both Wentworth, Mungo National Park, Euston and Balranald.
The Australian Inland Botanic Gardens are situated close to town and are the first semi-arid botanic gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. As the first, the botanical gardens is where the desert really comes into bloom.
In 2011, the town had a population of 1132 people.
