Mareeba is the largest town on the Atherton Tablelands, in Far North Queensland, less than an hour’s drive west of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
The district is an important primary producer, and is considered the heart of Australia’s thriving tropical fruits and coffee industry, with over 70% of Australia’s coffee grown here.
A multi-cultural district rich in wildlife, museums, coffee and wine, Mareeba has a history going back to the gold mining days and a strong sense of community spirit which sees support for traditional outback sports such as the famous annual Mareeba Rodeo.
